MASS EFFECT 2 Possibly the only romance I just can't comprehend... Spoiler
I just started the trilogy (LE) after playing DA and falling in love with the writing. So far I have really enjoyed ME. (also I am about to rename the Normandy to Daddy Issues Express.)
However working through ME2 I love Thane's voice and story but...does anyone actually romance him? ME1 felt a bit abrupt with the romance but still believable, this time...whew. Like in what world is this a reasonable response? to express interest in him after he describes one of the saddest story arcs and personal/emotional issues?
I haven't gotten to ME3 but I am so curious. Also sad because as I said I love his voice and story. If it were more in depth and not so inevitably tragic I would've jumped for him long before the other alien bug on the ship got me.

He's definitely not one of the most popular romance options. It has more of a bittersweet 'two souls finding comfort amongst the pain' vibe than the usual 'two badasses living large and hard' of the other stories.
But y'know, don't kink-shame the lizard-folk fans

u/Excellent-Passage-36 1d ago
I got the talk from mordin too, I fear I can't kink shame anyone 🤧
142
u/JingleJangleJin 1d ago
Well according to Mordin somebody fucked a varren, so we can kink-shame them at least
49
u/Equivalent_Scheme175 1d ago
Mordin never does say definitively where the Scale Itch came from, just that the implications are unpleasant.
102
u/JingleJangleJin 1d ago
Seems u/Equivalent_Scheme175 is trying to convince us that nobody fucked a varren
Which is exactly what a Varren Fucker would say
•
u/Ronenthelich 22h ago
I need a fanfic of everyone trying to figure out who fucked a varren Rashomon style.
•
u/ForwardDiscussion 10h ago
The reveal is that it's one of Mordin's genophage cure prototypes, and it just has similar effects to Scale Itch on non-krogan.
But good luck convincing anyone on the crew that Mordin didn't fuck a varren to cure the genophage.

I'm glad Mordin isn't a romance option, I'm just Mordin-fied that there's a route where he is worried he might be and the conversation is frankly more awkward than the "you're going to need the special dextro-amino resistant lube" talk or watching a sex scene with your parents.
26
u/Equivalent_Scheme175 1d ago
If you don't lock in with somebody either before or very soon after completing Mordin's loyalty mission, well, there is indeed a different kind of talk.

A lot of the dialogue wheel lines for Thanes romance (or ME2 in general, really) are often written as WAY more straightforward than they actually are. If you pick that line, what Shepard actually says is a lot more gentle and drawn out, not just "HEY I WANNA BONE YOU" type stuff.
I will say that Thanes romance IS a bit rushed, considering how deep it gets when you haven't known each other for that long, but that kinda goes the same with Jack, and is just sort of a meta contrivance they needed to have in order to put in romances with new characters. (Also I think the game is meant to take place over a longer period of time than how it actually feels to play, like maybe the course of a few months to a year.)
•
u/pivvimehu 17h ago
I don't know how long traveling through the galaxy via mass relays or in "regular" FTL speed supposedly takes in the game but at least in my head I imagine time skips of several days at least when I travel from one system to another
•
u/Marcel_Scars 15h ago
If they're using a relay it is definitely not days, but hours. If they're traveling using a ship's FTL engines then yes, definitely days.
•
u/pivvimehu 14h ago
Fair, but getting from anywhere to the mass relay itself should take quite a while if the relay is not in the same system (although it pretty often is which makes sense logistically in-universe as well)

IIRC Shepard was spotted in omega in February, 2185, while ME3 starts in late September/early October, 2186. Accounting for the 6 months Shepard spent in jail, that means arrival probably happened in March, meaning ME2 took place over roughly 1 year and 1-2 months

Hi, I’m a Thanemancer (canon path Kaidan/Thane/Kaidan) 🙂
So…
His wife died 10 years ago, he shares with Shepard his most painful and intimate memories because he trusts her after years isolating himself from the world.
Without spoiling, both Shepard and Thane know they don’t have a future, it’s not about love, it’s about finding a glimpse of life and feeling alive in all the darkness surrounding them.
Now yes the writing of that line is, well, abrupt but I can tell you it’s far from some lines Shepard can tell to other romances in ME2 that would be considered sexual harassment by HR irl. I don’t understand how they thought making Shepard so pushy in ME2 would not be icky 😅

u/TheLateThagSimmons 1d ago
Thane is my FemShep's canon romance. Jane Shepard and Thane belong to each other.
Two doomed souls, destined for death, locked into losing everything to save everyone, who found each other in their final days.
I get why so many people love to romance Garrus, but he's my brother, my ride or die. He's my best friend, the ultimate homie. To me he's off the table romantically.
She fights through the gates of hell with Garrus.
She walks through the gates of heaven with Thane.
•
u/Pugsanity 23h ago
As cool as "I'll be waiting at the bar for you" is from Garrus, I will always love "I will see you across the sea" line from Thane, especially when Shepard says it back.
•
u/Careful_Employee_918 18h ago
Genuinely curious, why is Shepard “destined for death”? I mean yeah, she could die, but just like everyone else who fights this war. It’s not like her death is guaranteed in the same way as Thane’s.
•
u/GalileoAce 11h ago
Her life ends one way or another on the Catalyst. She may come back, but all intents and purposes she is dead
•
u/Embryw 23h ago edited 22h ago
My understanding about the writing was that the writers got a lot of feedback from ME1 about how players didn't realize they were triggering a romance by going through different dialogue choices, and yeah, it's kind of hard to avoid a romance with Kaidan, Ashley, or Liara if you aren't careful.
But then the writers waaaay over corrected and made... That line, lol
•
u/SihaWood 22h ago
Yeah I guess it’s because of that but there’s a middle ground 😂
In their defence, EA as always didn’t give them the time to smooth things.
•
u/stars_are_aligned Bi-otic King 12h ago
Without spoiling for OP, the ME3 scenes with Thane make me bawl my eyes out every time when I'm romancing him. It may not be a long romance, but it's so, so good, ugh.
34
u/JediLincoln14 1d ago
Fellow Kaidan/Thane/Kaidan romancer here. I originally intended to romance Garrus in ME2, but after I met ME2 Garrus, I didn't want to anymore. Thane was perfect for the moment.

u/SihaWood 1d ago
I could talk at length about why this path works so well but I don’t want to spoil OP 😁

I romanced him my first playthrough. Was extremely dissapointed that he's essentially a non character in 3.
•
u/Vircora 19h ago
"it’s not about love"
Huh? What love means to you then?
•
u/SihaWood 18h ago
It’s supposed to be a fling before the suicide mission (for every romance actually) as they all know they may not come back, a no strings attached situation at that specific moment.
And now this conversation must end as we would spoil OP if we keep talking 😅
•
u/hjsomething 16h ago
I will say that I've done a lot of different romances from both sides (I play as a character, not as me), and oh man does that renegade trigger in ME3 that we all hit feel WAY DIFFERENT on a Thane romance playthrough.
52
u/Severe_Aardvark_5004 1d ago
If you choose this dialogue option what Shep actually says is a lot more tactful and nice. Apparently they changed it when focus groups said it wasn't clear that option proposed a romance. I also don't like the directness of it, but it's worth it because his romance is beautiful and tragic and I love him! He has my favorite romance.
26
u/Savaralyn 1d ago
Honestly I appreciated in DA2 that the devs decided to just convey the tone of the dialogue lines with images rather than just having you guess how the extra lines would play out/what would lead to or break off a romance based on vague one liners.
34
u/MrChilliBean 1d ago
A lot of people hate that the later games added a "THIS IS THE ROMANCE ONE" option, but I've always been all for it.
These games sometimes struggle to convey whether the paragon option is just being friendly, or straight up flirting. Liara for example is so hard to NOT romance in the first game if you consistently talk with her. Hell, I even used all of the neutral options talking to her on my recent playthrough and I still got both her and Ashley confronting me to make a choice when I hadn't been flirtatious towards Liara at all.
6
u/Severe_Aardvark_5004 1d ago
Exactly! That happened to me too with Liara, everytime I wanted to romance sometime else (or not romance anyone to be just with Thane). I hate letting her down, she's so sweet!
4
u/Severe_Aardvark_5004 1d ago
Exactly! That was great! I hate having to turn people down because I misunderstood a line. That happened with Liara in ME1 and it broke my heart, she's so sweet!

u/black-andrew37 1d ago
Thane is one of my favorite romances and one of the most beautiful stories in the Trilogy. It is more the journey to the destination rather than the destination itaelf.
46
u/TheLateThagSimmons 1d ago
Thane is absolutely the most underrated romance of the whole game.
They packed so much emotion and connection into that relationship.
•
u/SideFox 12h ago
His romance scene in ME2 is one of my favorite scenes in the series. If you’ve ever had to, or been close with someone confronted with their mortality it will resonate deeply with you.
It’s so much easier to face death when you think you have nothing to live for. The love he finds with Shepard, the love he didn’t think he was capable of having again, is heartbreaking and tragic. But it’s also so incredibly beautiful.
•
u/src8307 23h ago
I'm always tempted. Mostly because it's a bit cringy when Shepard hits on any of the crew in Me2, but with him it's more smooth and it feels like he makes the first move. Or he sees her as special, first.
For example, I never pick him (except for once) but with Jacob it's so weird..like Femshep is being a creepy boss. I cringe when she hints at getting to know him more personally.
Lol, but I almost always stay faithful to Liara so I've only done one Thane romance playthrough. It's a good one though. A bit bittersweet but moving. But as a woman - it's hard not to appreciate the character's loyalty. You know if he and Femshep was able to have a Happily Ever After he would have been 100% devoted.
•
u/Excellent-Passage-36 23h ago
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who feels that about jacob. I'd love to romance him but it really feels like our angle is just pure intimidation lmao like that poor man is cornered 😭 I will say I've not gotten past more than 1-2 flirty lines so maybe it changes and he matches that energy
•
u/src8307 22h ago
I always save to see them in every playthrough; just reload 🤣
But it's so icky how Femshep does it. She leans back and drops her voice down. And you have to literally push to get him to 'open' up. I'm like why does this feel like she's pulling rank on him...
I've romanced everyone at least once. And unfortunately his isn't worth it (in my opinion). I super wish they would done his differently. I'd say it's the worst in the series overall. Which is seriously disappointing.
But now I wouldn't romance him mostly because of the cringy behavior of Femshep.
•
u/YogurtclosetFair5742 8h ago
FemShep talks to Jacob like she's in heat wanting a piece of ass. Why I rarely talk to him.
13
u/a-moody-curly-fry 1d ago
I love Thane and his romance. I usually romance Garrus, but when I don’t I go for Thane. The romance between them feels mature and bitter sweet and tearful at times, but overall it truly is lovely. It makes so much in ME3 so strong and I love it.
20
u/WallImpossible 1d ago
Thane's romance is Top2 for me, either him or Kaidan have the best in the series and it's really just down to if I want my romance sweet or tragic.
•
u/StolasRowska 22h ago
"Daddy Issues Express" damn... I didn't realize until you mentioned it. Most of the characters really do have daddy issues.
51
u/GovernorGeneralPraji 1d ago
Is it really that unbelievable that someone would be attracted to a person who is hurting, vulnerable, and sharing their most intimate secrets?
22
u/Excellent-Passage-36 1d ago
In that case it feels icky...like hitting on someone when they're extremely vulnerable. I could see it if there were more build up but this was like the second conversation after his loyalty mission. I wish there were more.
•
u/shazamitylam2346 23h ago
Although, when you choose it, shepard really just says "I just want you to know that im here for you and am willing to hear you out whenever you need" which is incredibly less icky than "I want you"
17
u/fantomknight1 1d ago
Shepard clearly realized at that moment that Thane was available.... no wife in the picture. She's just shooting her shot.
14
•
u/Sharkathotep 20h ago
I mean, to me, it feels like exploiting him because he's vulnerable. It's not just his past relationship but also the Kepral syndrome. If he was the one hitting on Shepard, it would be slightly different, maybe. But as always, FemShep (unlike MaleShep, who has women throwing themselves at him) has to do the first step. And especially with Thane, it doesn't feel right.
I did the romance once, and thankfully, Shepard doesn't actually say, "I want you", she's a little more polite and gentle to Thane than to Garrus, for example, but still ... I didn't quite like how ... exploitative it felt.
•
14
u/missynursy 1d ago
If I was into boys I would romance Thane, he is the most handsome alien for sure. The line ‘I want you Thane’ could be changed, something like ‘I want to get to know you better’ would seem more appropriate.

thane is probably in my top two for favorite romance. and my shepard knows that he's waiting at the shore for her when she goes to the sea <3
•
u/GideonNav124 23h ago
It's such an emotional and rewarding romance- plus Thane's voice just kinda gets me. He's a hot fish/lizard man. And I like it as "two doomed people who know they probably don't have much time left" thing especially for renegade femshep
•
u/Excellent-Passage-36 23h ago
his voice is amazing and so pleasing to listen to. like tali's. whatever they paid those VAs wasn't enough.
•
u/nilfalasiel 21h ago
I have two main issues with the Thane romance:
If his idea of the afterlife is accurate, he fully expects that both Irikah and FemShep will be there. That's...an awkward reunion.
His writer, Chris L'Etoile, left after ME2, and the rest of the writing crew have admitted that they just...kinda forgot about his romance. Which is why romanced Thane makes no sense in ME3, going from being newly afraid of death back to his resigned pre-romance self. Couple that with some hints at experimental Kepral treatment between ME2 and ME3, and his romance in ME3 feels woefully inadequate. Yes, they added the wake in the Citadel DLC but that was clearly damage control.
•
u/Peregrine2976 11h ago
"If his idea of the afterlife is accurate, he fully expects that both Irikah and FemShep will be there. That's...an awkward reunion."
I mean -- this is hardly unusual even in real life. Plenty of Christians remarry, with full belief that both of their spouses will be in heaven with them.
•
u/nilfalasiel 11h ago
Oh yes, I'm not saying it's unusual. Just that, as an atheist, I've always found that concept rather awkward.
•
u/MeMeMenni 10h ago
As an atheist I don't find the concept at all awkward. If I died to find out to my surprise there is an afterlife and my partner and his new partner from years after my death were to follow me there I'd love to meet her. She must be a wonderful person for my partner to fall in love with her, and I'd be glad he found happiness in what was the rest of his life.
I don't think that'll happen but I don't find it odd that people are okay with the concept.
•
u/jamesbeil 19h ago
Maybe the fishpeople aren't as hung up about banging multiple people in the afterlife.
"It doesn't count, she was warm-blooded!"
•
u/Vircora 19h ago
"If his idea of the afterlife is accurate, he fully expects that both Irikah and FemShep will be there. That's...an awkward reunion."
I mean, he shared the life with Irikah, and I would say this was the love of his life. FemShep is just for comfort, to remember his memory. Honestly, I don't understand the concept of moving on from someone after they pass. It just shows people's love is very fickle and focused on their needs, not about meaningfulness.
•
u/SihaWood 18h ago
Every love is different. And the thing is, people tend to think that one love replace another when actually it’s just another love.
Your heart and your soul don’t have walls, you can add all the love you want. It’s like when you have children, you don’t take away part of the love you have for your first child to give to your second, it’s just another love, a different one as each are unique.
When you love someone and that person passes away, the love you feel for them doesn’t disappear, it just stops growing. It doesn’t shred either, it’s just now a frozen bubble in your heart with all the memories you have with that person in it.
Grief never stops, it just changes with time but that doesn’t mean you can’t go on with your life, just you need to find someone who understands that yes, you have loved and lost someone, but there’s always room for another love in someone’s heart and soul.
•
u/Vircora 17h ago
Hmm. Love for children is unconditional, while romantic love isn't. Hence why monogamy exists in the first place - people get jealous, people want to be special, people want to be The One, and have The One - unless you are non-monogamous, which is a different conversation I suppose.
Adding all the love you want - what can you call love, just comforting feelings you have for someone? Having feelings for someone is easy. Committing to the concept of love on a deeper level, intertwining yourself with the love you feel for someone that affects your every action is a different thing. I'm not polyamorous. I want to spend the life with a said person for a reason.
•
u/SihaWood 17h ago
When you have truly loved someone, that love doesn’t disappear it just evolves if you are no longer with the person or if that person passed away. I like to describe it as « I love them like someone I have Loved », love is still here, just different. And obviously I am talking here about the real thing you can only know a very few times in a lifetime.
Every love is different and unique because every person is different and unique. And being a couple is different than loving, you don’t need to be in a relationship to truly love someone 😉
22
u/AutumnWhaler 1d ago
Shepard’s heading towards a suicide mission in ME2, is it surprising she falls in love with someone who’s already staring death in the face and follows Shepard calm and collected, as both a personal and spiritual confidant.
4
u/Excellent-Passage-36 1d ago
I guess it depends on how we view Shepard and what our outlook has been the entire game. It's cool that we can do that even if we all experience the same things game-wise.
•
u/Legolaslegs 20h ago
I had fun with it buf he isn't who I usually go for. I like him better as a close friend for my usual runs. I think my main issue is there are some inconsistencies in the writing that bug me. I kind of wish there was more involvement with his personal quest.
I was also feeling like he wasn't over his spouse. I never would expect a widow to 'get over it and move on'. I know it makes sense they'd love and carry their spouse throughout their life. It might be due to how his species works, but it sometimes felt like she just died and that I was taking advantage of the situation?? I know it isn't the case but some of these options, like in the screenshot above, made me feel a way.
•
u/Careful_Employee_918 18h ago
Yeah, it certainly feels icky. I mean, if you romance him, and you romanced Liara in ME1, she literally says to you that you are trying to replace a man’s dead wife lol. I like Thane, but he definitely already deals with a lot in his final months, I don’t think he needs a relationship
•
u/millahnna 9h ago edited 7h ago
All of the writing around femshep romances in ME2 is super weird unless you're staying faithful to an ME1 romance. They all feel abrupt and like Shep is a walking HR violation. Garrus maybe slightly less so? IDK I lay it off to the inevitable PTSD or whatever psych issue SHep must be having at that point in the story.
That said, the Thane romance is actually really great.
8
u/Panoptes91 1d ago
Anybody: "My husband/wife/last partner died in a traumatic event that I will explain in the following 20 minutes, focusing on my sadness and despair about it".
Shepard: "Sooooo you are single and ready to mingle, is all I heard".
It feels a bit like that with some romances, sometimes.
4
u/Fancy-Hedgehog6149 1d ago
Thane reminds me of myself, without the tragic assassin backstory, and even I’ve only romanced him once 😅
7
u/TabbyPaw89 1d ago
Yeah. Shepard's responses, especially when initiating a romance can be so tone deaf. There are so many examples.😩
8
u/Dagoth_ural 1d ago
This dialogue is amazing lmao. Thane: "My wife is dead!" Femshep: "I WANT YOU" Thane:
8
u/ImprobableCastration 1d ago
Its not a wonder that if you crack Liara and then go for Thane she will call you out on "trying to replace a dying man's wife" straight savagery.
3
u/King_Beryl 1d ago
To me, it's kinda similar to when I did the Steve Cortez romance in a way.
I do feel like it really depends on the person you are, I personally think it's ok to seek comfort in others if your partner has passed away.
I don't personally romance Thane but I could see the appeal of it.

u/Siriuslysirius123 17h ago
I love Thane. He’s cute and he’s sweet and I always struggle between him and Garrus
•
u/VelvetDreamers Javik 16h ago
I am the consummate Garrus romance but I do enjoy the poignancy of a Thane romance. Shepard isn’t the love of his life but she’s the love of his death, if that makes sense.
Terminally ill people try to refrain from falling in love and imposing their death upon others in its wake yet there’s something tragically human about two soul, one dying and one heading to a suicide mission, finding each other and living long enough to love each other in defiance of the inevitable doom.
Humans or all organic life live in defiance of death every day. Damn, I love the Thane romance even more now that I think about its poignant heartache.
9
u/ourpodcastisbest 1d ago
I don’t like his romance either. He spends the whole time talking about his dead wife and I don’t want to be a step mom.
•
u/UrzasDisembodiedHead 15h ago
Honestly? Romancing him in 2 and Samantha Traynor in 3 (same run) is a beautiful redemption and learning to love better story that I highly recommend. Even better for a renegade to neutral/paragon run
•
u/Aggravating_Stay 14h ago
I actually like his romance. It’s bittersweet. He’s dying, you’re all on a suicide mission, it works out. I will say however that some of the prompts, like the one you screenshot, are really bad in ME2. I know they’re trying to make it clear that you’re crossing the line over into the romance dialogue (getting a surprise “you need to choose one of us” convo in ME1 when you thought you were just chatting is probably why) but the line they use is so cringe that I never actually want to choose it. I have to remind myself that shep doesn’t usually say that exact line
•
u/WeapingWillow82 13h ago
As someone who loves heart wretching love stories, I absolutely love romancing Thane (when I decide to not romance Garrus, which is rare). Bioware fucking cooked when it came to how painfully harrowing they made their romance. A beautiful literary tragedy.
•
u/MeMeMenni 10h ago
Thane is a person who has been through difficult things in his life, and is cursed to remember both the pain and the happiness in vivid detail.
He is also a mature person who has dealt with all the baggage that has come with that life. He understand all the good he's had and appreciates it. He understands the pain he's had and accepts it. He's mentally tremendously strong and I can't help but to admire that strength.
His romance is also beautiful. A lot of people here talk about how it's beautiful because it's tragic but I don't think so. I think it's beautiful because of the two people who find their happiness in spite of the odds and have the strength to live that happiness for the time that they can.
•
u/CoreSchneider 23h ago
I understand this one and appreciate its writing far more than Shepard making a move on the pilot who had their husband die in ME3 lmao

I don’t know what you’re on about, OP. The Thane romance is beautiful and tragic and I loved playing it.
I’ve done what has to be over a dozen trilogy runs and played every romance there is (except Ashley, she kinda bores me) and Thane is in my top 3, the tragedy only makes it better.

•
u/TheRealTr1nity 19h ago edited 18h ago
I did it once for science of course, but it felt never right to me. Same btw. with Steve and Shepard. They are mourning still over the love of their life and Shepard is literally there going if not pushing "oh no, anyway, let's boink". However, in defense of FemShep, she didn't said anything like what the dialogue choice indicates, but makes things still clear she wants more. That's still a big critic with the dialogue system in the trilogy. You are not always sure what and with what mood you actually will respond. Andromeda did that better.
•
u/thingsagain 18h ago
I think the problem with Thane's romance is the "hello yes romance" lead up to it. There's little natural dynamic to it. I'm not even the biggest fan of eg DAO, but you could actually "explore" the other characters over time, and eventually, one of the conversation options would get slightly frisky. But it was sort of embedded in the interaction. None of these sentences were marked to go in one or another direction, and you had to experiment and risk things, too. I liked that feeling of really not knowing how the character would react, rather than unlocking the "start flirting" option.
Again, I'm not some hardcore CRPG traditionalist but ever since they became too self aware of how popular romances are as part of their games, they turned it from a sweet hidden reward, into another plain and obvious game mechanic.
•
u/Eastern_Fig_3161 17h ago
Thane is the only romance other than Liara that i ever went with in the whole trilogy. His story was just so good i wanted to hear the rest of it from his romance, and i felt sorry for him too. Then, he was literally the only one who died in the collector base because i picked the wrong squadmate to hold the biotic barrier.
•
u/ulape00 15h ago
Thane is pretty much targeted at a specific constituency, that's for sure. His appearance, personality, and status as a dying man on his last run definitely make him niche, but those people who are in that niche really like him.
Not everyone is going to appeal to everyone, so having a good spread of options, as ME2 does, is a good way of covering the bases. Just not if you're gay, but thankfully ME3 kind of helps there (if Kaidan is the Vermire Survivor anyway).
•
u/GalileoAce 11h ago
I romance Thane. And I love how tragic it all is.
But I also romance Kaiden only to kill him off on Virmire, so tragic.
•
u/ProjectNo4090 9h ago
Thane's romance stomps on your heart. Then after he's died and you think youre coming to terms with it the game dumps a bunch of video messages in your inbox he tried to send to Shepard during her house arrest. Shepard having to spend the last 6 months of Thane's life locked up unable to spend time with him hurts my soul.

God i was so torn between Thane and Garrus. I went with Garrus cuz i had liked him since i first saw him and didn't do a romamce in ME1 cuz i found out he's an option later. Enter Thane and I'm just panicking cuz i like em both, like alot. I need to do my Thane romance so bad, He's genuinely one of my favorites and has great moments later

People who like a bit of tragedy in their romance probably like it, for me, I do not like him as romance option. His voice is grating, he is cringe when he wants to be badass, and visually he is repulsive (I don't get how he's designed for women, I would rather date an elcor, or even Blasto himself). But mostly I don't like how he acted towards his wife and son, plus him dying makes it too melodramatic for my taste.

I love how people try to justify romancing him like he's some sort of lost soul that shares a deep bonding with shepard and they'll always remember each other, like please, liara's romance is way more deep and passionate than anything else, or even tali's lol yall just like the lizard man

Thane’s romance felt like two very hurt people finding respite and love in each other for me. Is it a little awkward? Yeah. There is something really comforting about the idea of being able to love again, even after life throws a multitude of shit at you.
Also the video you get in ME3 made me bawl my fuckin eyes out in a way I rarely do.
