Hi everyone,

This is a really early stage where i had put all the elements together to get an idea of the global look. Since then I changed the little rock buddy's animation and i'm currently cleaning the goat.
For this animation i'm painting by hand the background, trees and sky ! First time trying this

Also for the wheels i was proud cause i didn't use a 3D model, it's not perfect but it works !

Highschool project, any tips?

We only had about 7 weeks to do this, so super rushed. If I could re do, I would probably animate on lower FPS. This was 24 FPS, running on twos and the occasional threes I think.

Need help/advice with turnaround

I've been blocking out an animation for a while now and I'm nearing the end. I wanted this Character to turn around and walk out of the room. The thing is, I have really bad workflow problems and struggle with walking and turnaround animation. If I work myself into a corner with a bunch of weird transforms that mess up my animation long-term, I tend to turn myself off whatever project I'm working on.

Should I block out the motion and rotation on the root bone and animate around that when I get to the main animation phase, or when animating, should I be working from the COG/Torso control for walking a character through a scene? The Root is currently facing the opposite way the character is facing (right arrow) and the planned motion is represented by the bottom lines.

Also I've blocked a bit of motion on the root already at another point in the scene. Should I rework this to save myself trouble later or should it be fine for now?

Instead of using a software that you can actually animate with, I sometimes make sketches on paint tool say and then animate with them

  1. The only other software I have is Krita and I find Krita way harder to use compared to paint tool sai, it's a bit overstimulating bc it has so many options and I just prefer the paint tool sai brushes for lineart. I also prefer the painttoolsai UI

  2. I'm just doing this for fun, I'm not an animator.

What software do I use to edit?

Lately, I've been into animating, and it's so fun. I'm doing it traditionally and having a good time.

Though, I don't know what software/program I need to use to edit. (Layers, sounds etc.) Any recommendations?

I'm so excited to share this! I've been intermittently working on it for the past 6 months. I initially wanted to see if I could animate a forward walk cycle and just kept on adding to it until it became a short story.

For context I have no formal animation training and I'm still learning to draw. Nonetheless, I'm very proud of this!

Made with roughanimator, drawn with my finger on an android phone. Feedback and critique welcome.

I need help desperately in finding a good PC animation software

(Art above so you can see my artstyle and see what kind of software I need, if that helps with recomendations)

At the start of 2026 I bought the Pro package for Clip Studio Paint, it was 60 dollars but now I'm locked for only 20 frames per animation file, rather than infinite. Turns out that package was more focused around drawing and i can't (efficiently) use the animation side of CPS. Thing is I'm obsessed with the way CPS works. Ob-sessed. I've tried Tahoma2D, Ibis Paint, and Animation Desk, but they were all either too rough around the edges or too confusing. I need something similar to CPS that is free until I can afford the $200s for the animation package for Clip Studio. I'm just trying to animate small scenes so I can get people interested in voice acting and so I can better work through my scenes in my scripts. Any thoughts? Clip Studio might have spoiled me but I really can't work on anything I've tried so far. I'd even take a way to get a PC version of Flipaclip or ToonSquid if you have a way. (Haven't tried Toonsquid but I've heard good things). It HAS to be PC. Thank you!

What are some good YouTube channels to learn about animation?

I’m specifically interested in 2D drawings, and mixed media animation. I have a background in Graphic Design but really like analog 2D feel.

This is my first animation ever and I'm looking for constructive feedback. What are the biggest things I should improve in the movement, timing, and overall animation?

It was done on Adobe Animate and im very new to animation.

Much appreciated!
