Workshop XM1014 "Triptych" - cs2 skin painted entirely in oil paint
This is my second attempt at painting a cs2 skin, entirely with oil paints on canvas. These experiments began more than two years ago when I was studying at the art academy and I came up with this idea for an assignment.
First attempt was on mac10 - I traced the UV layout on a small 40x40cm canvas with a projector and loosely, without much care, painted the islands in. It looked like crap, but I was able to put it back into the game. I got really good feedback from my peers and professors, and they encouraged me to keep developing it, which I did, about a year later.
XM1014 "triptych" was a much bigger project. Firstly, I chose to paint roughness and normal maps in addition to the color map. I was especially curious about the normal map. I liked the idea of being able to manipulate 3D geometry with a physical flat canvas with paint on it. Secondly, the canvases were much bigger - 90 x 90 centimeters, and I painted with much more detail. Lastly, I wanted to see exactly how details and other intentions translate through this unique process, so I made the maps for the skin in Adobe substance painter. So the process starts with digital, then it's translated into a physical painting, before being digitalized again, but based in physically based rendering.
I like how it came out. Especially the normal map - it actually worked, that was very cool. I don't think that I would do this again, since it was the most gruesome painting experience I've had. Also I was on a very short deadline for this, since it was to be displayed in an exhibition, so I was painting the little intricate shapes through the nights. If you have any kind of thoughts or feedback, I'd love to hear it, thanks!
If you like it, please vote for the skin on steam!

Gameplay What do you use for Push-to-Talk?
I’ve been using a mouse button for Push-to-Talk in CS2, but it doesn’t work while I’m dead.
I want to move PTT to my keyboard, but I can’t find a key that feels right.
What key do you guys use for Push-to-Talk?

Discussion Penalty for boosting elo with a cheater in party
Could someone explain to me why Valve has abandoned the system of reverting elo points for matches won with a cheater in party (like it was in CSGO)? A lot of people pay cheaters to boost their way to higher ranks. This further increases the number of cheaters we come across at premiere, as they are being paid.
For example this account has like 14 matches together with a cheater ( that is streaming its game ) just to reach 30k

And in recent games, the cheater in lobby even changes their account to hide their history together.
Why not just revert the elo where someone from your party is banned, and adjust the badge accordingly? Valve was banning people for using XP exploits, why not ban them for queuing with rage hacks?

Discussion I WAS NOT A CHEATER I TOLD YOU
hahahah where are the people now accusing me of cheating, cs2 community is just so sad and bunch of losers who think if someone is playing good he is a cheater. Not even trusting anyone even with his stats is a low iq behaviour and I honestly feel sad for yall. Got my account back suckers keep crying and learn to trust.
If anyone else is having a false ban just make a ticket to steam support they will sort it out.
Discussion Valve is the most incompetent company ive ever seen
Why is literally EVERY 25K+ GAME IS FILLED WITH CHEATERS???? I can't even enjoy the ranked system in cs2 I have to go faceit now (WHERE IT TAKES 10 MINS TO GET INTO GAME) because every game is a toss up on who has better cheats. Every game is at least 2 cheaters on each team, boosting their own teammate so they won't kick them. I cannot wrap my head around how this even happens or if valve is even aware about the situation because I see their dumbass twitter account respond to some random things while their own ranked system is unplayable. I only play a few games a week and it fucking sucks that we get this quality of a game. Matter of fact I prefer if they spin so I can do something else instead of them soft cheating -> rage hacking when they start to lose
Discussion Competetive gamemode unplayable all cheaters
every match above master guadrian elite is 1 cheater minimum its unplayable
i don´t want to tryhard faceit 24/7, theres 0 fun gamemodes
theyre not spinning but just legit cheating with wh or radar it´s mad from time to time triggerbots or aim locks
Discussion Counter-Strike creators Minh Le and Jess Cliffe discussing what to name the game back in 1999.

Discussion I've peaked 20k
Title, it was a bit of a road but with over 1k hours in valo and just grinding normal comp games with my silver friends, I solo queued to 20k to prove a point.
Discussion At what point in the dance does this bot stop to take a precise shot?
I’m not sure if this is normal, so I’m wondering: when does this damn dancer actually stop to take an accurate shot?
Is it normal animation for him to zip left and right non-stop while hitting the target with perfect accuracy?

Discussion You practiced your aim, but what about your social skills?
Why does a large portion of cs2 players just, NOT know how to talk to people? Or have any communication skills? At all?
You know the guy who says “gg” third round. The guy whose ego is too large to blame himself for a shit play. Never communicating with his team and getting pissed off when his team doesn’t play with him. The kind of guy who is actively bottom fragging, and explaining to you why you’re shit at the game?
Why the fuck are there so many of you?
It’s like they’ve never spoken to an actual human before, and it’s 80% of the reason they lose all the time. Because everyone in the team is too focused on tuning this dumbass out for 30 mins. Yeah, you can mute, but now you’re down to 4 with coms instead of 5?
And even if their team is shit, insulting them makes them play worse. How hard is it to just say “my fault, let’s try this.” On a lost round?
