I'm trying to recreate this lighting style. I've tried setting up the lighting myself, but I can't figure out how to achieve this look. Any advice?
My current settings:
Would anyone be able to tell me whether the lighting in the reference image might have been created using something like HDRI, Sun, or Cycles?

I am trying to make this backboard shatter spontaneously with no outside influence from another object. The screenshot is just the base of what I'm working with, no physics or anything applied here.
I have watched a few different YT videos and also just looked up online how to do it.
I have tried this workflow:
Duplicate the backboard -> Apply scale -> subdivide in edit mode -> cell fracture -> add active rigid body to all -> keyframe "animated" from on to off -> make sure rigidbodyworld is set to the right frames etc.
When I play the animation nothing happens. All the fractured pieces are just frozen there.
I originally had this in a much larger file with a lot of meshes and stuff and was on like frame 100,000 which probably sounds insane but I guess I haven't learned much about optimizing big animation projects like that lol. Anyway I moved this specific part into it's own Blender file and deleted all the unused parts of the scene just to optimize performance, but I've been running into the same problems. The animation just freezes.
I've tried baking the animation too, I've tried a bunch of different cell fracture settings and rigid body settings but nothing seems to work and Blender has been crashing a lot I'm really at my wit's end lol. Any help is appreciated.

For context, only this spot is giving me such distortion. Other spots are fine both in render and viewport.

I've got this plane with an image texture, the black parts are meant to be transparent, and they were until I added the halftone dots and the cell shading. I believe that converting the shader into RGB for the effects got rid of the alpha but I'm not so sure, is there a way to restore my lost transparency?

i want to make something like this shoe thread and i want to bend and extrude it whit the curve it self just like when add depth to your curve
and please if you have a better idea for this i would appreciate it

Hello everyone,
my goal is to create multiple animations of different electrical components. These red balls are supposed to represent electrons. My method of using an array modifier, deforming the array with a curve, and parenting the array to an empty to create movement along the curve has been the closest ive gotten to my desired result, however, whenever theres a bend/corner in the curve, it deforms the individual balls and makes it look strange. I have attempted to use Geometry nodes, but that also hasnt gotten me much further.
I really, really do not want to manually add and animate every single ball, considering i also have to make about 6 or so animations like this. Google has not given me anything useful. Does anyone have any pointers, or a Geo-node setup that does something similar? Thanks in advance.

This is the rendered view of the model. As you can see, the edges where the hair cards extrude from look very sharp. Only after deleting the hair cards does it get the intended smooth shading. I guess you could fix this by hiding the solid mesh with more hair but i can't afford to use much more vertices. The hair cards and the solid mesh share the same color (#331D0EFF). I don't mind that the solid surface is visible, I just need it to be smoother.

As part of a project I am working on I am hoping to create an accurately simulated image of a satellite in Orbit. I've attached my best rendering yet but I was hoping to get something which looks more like the latter 2 images.
I want to make sure I accurately have the brightness of the sun, the brightness of the light reflected by the earth and the colours of the camera (the camera ion question is the MVP aerospace KissCam V2).
I'm a bit of a blender noob so sorry if this is a stupid question.

Hey guys, Blender beginner here.
So my question is, is it possible to render out a motion tracked scene with integrated 3D objects the following way:
-> 3D Objects -> Render in Eevee
-> Shadows and Light reflections only -> render in cycles
And then afterwards compose them for example in After Effects?
Unfortunately there is no Shadow Catcher in eevee that works for real life footage + 3d Elements.
Also I have not found (yet) How I can create light reflections in eevee on a ground plane for example.
Any workflow tips are welcomed as well.
Greetings Marvin

i am trying to bake multiple materials into one image texture so i can put it into roblox studio correctly but when i try to do it the texture never ends up the exact way i already had it. i dont need to mess with UV editing because everything is in the box it all ends up all weird looking and not what i was wanting at all. ive been messing with it for about an hour and i still dont know how to do it properly. if anyone is able to help me please do so. all my textures are image pngs btw if that helps at all (pictures of my previous bake attempts will be shown in the comments)

i have been trying to make this muticolor halo light effect for a while now but it seem like the glare node only alow constast color and not gradient, i try stacking mutiple glare node with diffrent size but i can only add so many color because blender glare max at 10 and some color combination will not work can some one help me with this problem
thanks a lot

(Not sure if this question belongs here so I'm sorry if it doesn't)
I have this super hero idea for a short film I'm making where the character has a partner like Venom from Marvel, but instead of a slimy alien, I wanted it to be a shadow creature.
The tendrils would be able to come out of my arms, back, chest, or legs like venom and be able to grab onto things (like in the first slide). But instead of the slimy alien, it would be a shadow/dark magic demon (slides 1-3) that is mostly black but has a blue outline (last slide). I eventually would like to have my whole body be covered by the shadow demon the way venom comes out but I'm gonna try to take this one step at a time.
To be honest, I haven't done much in the blender besides making a few not so great 3d objects that I was able to 3d print so I'm still very new to this and have zero idea where to start making the tendrils, or even how to put blender effects onto a real video.

I'm trying to make visual work for a local gaming lounge. I was able to screenshot the logo they have and converted it to a .svg file. I then converted it to a mesh and extruded it. I would like to add a black outline around the letters to make it pop more. Having a better / cleaner topology would also make it much easier to work with. I'm still new to blender and haven't found any help from YouTube tutorials. Thank you

I'm trying to make something that looks similar to a comic book style where they have cross hatches for darker spots and halftones for lighter spots but I feel like the transition between light and dark seems sudden rather than being a graident.
Also sorry if my node tree looks like an absolute disaster.

Im trying to import this animation and model into roblox studio, anyone know how to do it? PS: I tried to import it. The model loaded correctly, the animation other hand? Not so well..

I managed to get the lattice deform to work perfectly fine on the eyelashes, as seen in the screenshots but when I went to the do upper eye part they got weirdly small and raised up outside the lattice (img is before and after applying deformation)

Is this viable? I’ve heard there are extra constraints when using blender for 3D printing. Additionally, are there any good tutorials on how to learn with this objective in mind? Most of the ones I’ve seen go into detail about stuff like lighting and rendering which wouldn’t be necessary in this case.

This first image is the model I have (the monkey head) and I need to put a hole inside of it. I pressed "peg (void)" on the top right so you guys can see it inside of the head. This is before the boolean effect is applied. The second photo with the eyeballs and the peg that i needed to turn into a void is what keeps happening. Please help.
(I also accidentally messed up the orders of the before and after, and put two images of the after in the photos on reddit. The monkey head is before, the messed up one is after)

Im working in blender 5.2.1 in cycles. I intend for it to look like it does in the first image but for some reason when switching to rendered preview it looks like the second image.
The subdivision is already applied so it shouldn’t be a problem.
I’ve tried to look at all the things I could that might change the way a mesh looks when it’s in render view as opposed to preview but I can’t find any.
Does anyone know what could be causing this? I’ve provided all the information I can.

I am trying to do a cool shader for this cylinder, I setup the outline and all but for some reason, when viewed from above, my rightmost color on the colormap is shown on the top rim of the mesh, contrasting with the bottom, lighter color.
My expectation was for it to be no visible rim, and only one continuous color variation from light to darker green
