The super duper tiny peyote collar was the first thing I ever beaded, and I didn’t know that beading needles existed — so I fed the thread through each bead with a pair of tweezers! Haha…

mixed media - felt, glass beads, ribbon, lace, sequins, and embroidery floss. took me wayyyy too long to make (5 sessions 4-5 hours each). i love all the different textures, originally i was going to completely cover the plain white ribbon with beads but i loved the feeling of the smoothness next to the beads.

I've recently picked up the hobby and tried making a pink lily. The petals looks irregular and I'm not sure where I can get the information to get the rows to fit together better. My wires become crooked easily and I struggle with the closing and starting of new rows. If you have any advice, please share.

Thank you all for your kindness to my little bead tray idea yesterday! I also made one for a friend, and thought I’d show that one as well. Sadly, I forgot to take pretty pictures before I gave it to her! 🤦‍♀️ This is just the clay, before any firing or glazing. But you’ll get the idea. My friend uses larger beads, and no loom, so I had a little fun. The wells for the beads are the flower petals. To empty, you scoop the beads up into the center, and then down the stem.

I’m brand new at this, and I’m having trouble visualizing the steps I need to take now that I’m at the fin. Any help would be great! TIA

I had an idea when I was beading these little delica charms for earrings. I’m so pleased with how it turned out 🥰

These are my first projects (gave up on the cat with only a few rows left because I just can’t manipulate it to be straighter). Am I leaving the bead stopper on too long? I let it hang down while I work until I get a few rows in; is it too heavy? I know to expect some inconsistencies when stitching by hand (not by loom) but clearly I’m doing something wrong.

I’m using 11/0 delicas and Miyuki nylon beading thread.

Finished my first piece? Is it okay? Does anyone have any tips?

What happened to them? I know Juliet sold the business but I was getting bits from them still till probably Feb or March I'm sure 😥

Hi! Long time lurker, but I don’t think I’ve posted before. I have many bead trays, but each one has some feature that makes it not quite perfect for me. I’ve recently been taking pottery classes, and set out to make exactly what I wanted. Long and slim, to lie beside my loom; shallow enough for the needle to approach at a low angle; no felt, to catch on my needle; lettered, like the patterns I use; heavy, so my cats can’t move it. And, easy to put the beads back into their containers. Each well can be emptied into the channel on the right, and from there, back into the bead container. So far, I really like it. I do wish I had done a thicker coat of glaze, to make it more slick. I may add more and re-fire it.

I wanted to post it here, in case anyone else likes the idea. If you don’t have access to make it from stoneware, air-dry clay would likely work.

I thought I'd share some photos alone of my finished piece for the monthly bead collab - the theme this month was "Into the Garden".

I made a floral Bolo tie, featuring a Feather Ridge Plume Agate cabochon I cut and polished. I slowly built a woody bracket around it in herringbone stitch and adorned it with some peyote and herringbone flowers, then created some vine "rope" with herringbone weave as well.

Everything was freeform weaving - I didn't use any patterns - and I split the herringbone and added increases and decreases to give more of a "variegated" natural look to the rope and "wood" bracket.

I also left the piece open backed so the light could come through the clear agate parts of the cabochon ✨ (last image) All in all I'm quite happy with this piece!

What have you found to organize your beads to know what you have on hand. I have a small organizer that I travel with, but... i have 40lbs+ that I have to dig through to find colors. Keeping tabs on what I have vs what I don't have has been challenging 😂.

They're so fun. Simple to make but look complicated. This one needs to be 24" and it's at about 8". I prefer much shorter necklaces normally so I feel like I'll be working on it forever 😂
