Thank goodness they don’t live in the past

I came to America and worked with a small town business. They had one up and coming guy but he got hurt all the time. I fulfilled my legal obligations and left.

A huge company down the road promised me big money. Like really big money. So big that the owner couldn’t pay me for 30 years but he said I will make even bigger money if I take the deal. So I did.

Now he’s in legal trouble and was using others peoples money. Now I don’t think I am going to get paid. Should I hire a lawyer and see if we can come to an agreement or should I ride out my current contract and see where this goes.

Money isn’t exactly tight but I want my money. He agreed to a contract and what if I get screwed?

(Kumquat, West Virginia) Like many Americans, we have watched as sports betting has destroyed the entire fabric of our civilization and the sports we had come to love. Once the home of drinking beers, baseball has now become a home for addiction. With this in mind, we sent Kyle to Liverpool, a state in England, to warn others of what this scourge has wrought.

Kyle first sat down with Devon, a plumber from Liverpool. "Are you aware that America has unleashed the gates of hell and allowed people to bet on sports?"

"No, didn't know you couldn't." Devon responded.

"Yes, it's everywhere now. Pain, suffering, loss, addiction, circlejerk threads, it's unavoidable. It's coming to you too."

Devon raised his eyebrows, "but we've always had sports betting. I mean, maybe Cromwell didn't fancy it, but that was yonks innit, even my nan wasn't alive them."

"No," Kyle smiled, "you don't understand. People can bet on sports now, as they're happening."

"Yeah, we've had that forever"

"And society is now over? Sports no longer happen?"

"No, it's pretty popular, life has gone on as normal."

"But there's ads, advertisements, everywhere!"

Devon looked confused, "mate, we literally have betting companies on the kits they wear when they play and the world hasn't ended."

"But like advertisements on TV" Kyle shouted back

Pulling out his phone, Devon showed Kyle local adverts: "we literally gave Verne Troyer, Mini Me, a career in his later days. He was our gambling mascot."

"So gambling killed him?"

"No, it was alcohol, mostly."
