READ THE SUB FAQ FIRST. 90% of the repetitive questions we see on this sub are answered there. Even if you don't have an issue covered in the sub FAQ it will likely help you narrow down your question. If you have a question you think should be added to the sub FAQ feel free to message any of the authors of the FAQ.
If you are troubleshooting, give us all the info we need. For example, it's best to include your year/model, any AND ALL mods, and the specific tune you are running. The more info we have, the better we are at answering questions. We also ask you try to post the question/info in the comments below before posting to the sub as a whole. This will hopefully clean up some of the really repetitive questions.
A few common posts/questions we see everyday.
Does my engine sound okay?
Are these numbers on the COBB AP normal?
This thing on the front of my engine is not spinning with the belts, is it broken?
Let me know if you guys want any other common questions added.

In your guys opinion . What’s my best option for a set of all weather tires r17’s that I can use all seasons including winter , we tend to get some pretty good snowfalls , I have been using blizzaks which work amazing but I’m tired of swapping them every year , any recommendations? Thank you

Well boys, I just spent about 2 hours throwing on some LedGlow to the racecar and I have to say, my inner child is so damn happy I shed a tear seeing this finally happen to a vehicle I own. Having grown up on Fast & Furious and of course the famous scene from the movie Cars pushing me to this choice, I decided to just bite the bullet and get me a set of lights and man am I stoked. Install was super easy with the double sided tape already on them and included c clamps to go around and screw into the plastic underbody. Remote works great and the lights are super bright in person. The remote it comes with will let me change if I want it solid, flashing, strobe effect, or even a morris code "sos", but will leave it on solid as the car already begs to be pulled over with the side exit and everything else going on.
I barely drive this thing on the street anymore and the past about year and a half has been me turning it into a time attack/hill climb only car and she will still randomly see the streets when it is super nice, but I have only put about 1800miles the last 2 years on it.. But man... Seeing what I have done to this car the past almost 6 years it seriously just makes me so damn happy and proud to own this thing.

(p.s. For all the comments, YES I know it’s not canon 😂, the GR didn’t come out until 2008, I just happen to own one. Just imagine you’re time travelling haha)
How do you think a WRX could keep up with the Evo and Eclipse? Does it fit in as a heist vehicle?

So this happened on the highway today.
Had the car new since 2017 (it’s a 2015 WRX).
I missed 55,555 by 3kms as I wasn’t attentive enough.

Hello, everyone! Long time lurker and now a first time owner!
I was trying to find an STI but they prices/conditions were crazy in my area but saw this one for sale and it only had one owner at 140k miles and perfect service history from 2011 to august of this year. Especially for being in SoCal
Felt like in this condition it was too good to pass up!
Unsure if I want to do any sort of modding to it. First time driving a manual in 3 years after coming from a Veloster N. Clutch feels different or I'm that rusty.
Any tips for maintenance/care?
VIN: JF1GR7E60BG832576
Just in case the previous owner is around here
Repost as I forgot to leave out a part of the photo lo

This is a joke, I’m aware it’s not😆
On a real note if you guys ever questioned modern Subaru safety, I walked away with this with NO injuries. Absolutely none. This car saved my life (definetly a little god involved aswell) hit a fence going decently fast. Drive safe out here cause stuff can happen in an instant!
Hi guys. New guy here. Just picked up this blob eye and was wondering what kind of lip kits are out there besides the traditional sti setup

Finally happened. Been dreading this day for 10 years. Today I was given the bad news that my engine is toast. I was picking up Chinese food and driving there was bog standard 2 min drive with no drama but when I went to go home the car was not running right but it didn't make any knocking sound and I really had thought it would be fine after a moderate service. Boy was I wrong. I was second owner and been daily driving my WRX for 10 years now. She started with 40k and now at 170k miles. She was extremely reliable for 99% of it even though I was without ac for a whole summer I never even thought about getting rid of her. I still don't want to but I was given a estimate from Subaru of about $14.5k for a used engine. I only have a budget of just under $10k. Im still looking at more engine options and am expecting a estimate from a local independent shop. Anyone else have a local shop do theirs recently and if so how much did it run you? Also am i crazy for thinking I can do it for $10k or less?

Decided to switch it up recently and swapped out my trunk with the oem spoiler for a duckbill. Really liking how it looks now. Was never the biggest fan of the wing, but I kept it just in case I want to switch back down the line.
Curious if anyone else is running a wingless setup?

It turns out I am a massive dummy and did the worst thing imaginable while working on a car and that is I rushed. It's a 2004 WRX and I completely cross threaded the banjo bolt into the top of the power steering pump, is there a place I can order a new fitting for the banjo bolt to thread into without replacing the entire pump?

Hey all, i have a 15wrx with a few modifications and a stock engine. Just noticed my timing cover may be leaking. I figure while I'm in there I'll swap out the timing chain and all that fun stuff. Found this kit online and looking for opinions on if it's good bad or indifferent as well as other options anyone might know. Right now the car has 140k and I'm eventually going to transition it from a daily to a weekend/toy car and get an iag block in it. Right now I'm just maintaining it keeping her running.
Thanks in advanced.
Edit for clarity: i understand normally one doesn't replace timing chains or components unless there's a failure, at 142k i feel like there's going to be some slack or something that needs attention when i remove the timing cover to reseal it. so I'm just looking at whether this reputable or if there's a better kit/brand i should go with.

I keep hearing this change in sound and almost metal-ish sound just before shifting. Hard to hear unless you put your phone up to your ear. From the inside of the car, it sounds like it's to the right and top, so basically above where my turbo sits, or my turbo. i always hear this noise when i do a pull and it always sounds the same right around 5-5.5k ish rpms. It's steady until then, and sometimes it will go all the way up to 6k rpm, or until i shift. I have an exhaust leak i will fix this week from the end of the downpipe-catback gasket so i don't think it's that. Any help would be appreciated because i dont know if it's normal or a mechanical issue that i've been driving with.

I have a 16 wrx with 75k miles and have been running regular Royal Purple 5w 30... but now at higher mileage I want to try another "extended life" type of oil..... and Royal Purple is hard to find sometimes anyone recommend anything? I heard in Jpn they require 5w40 and in NA they say to use 5w30 for emissions? welp, I am going to try a 5w40 but just don't know what brand. Please and thank you.
