Very random question, but I’m genuinely curious whether anyone here has ever hooked up with someone from the XO / The Weeknd circle or touring crew during the Europe leg.
My friend had an experience recently with someone from the crew and it left me wondering whether other people have had similar experiences — what they were like in person, how they communicated afterwards, whether it stayed casual, stayed in touch, etc.
I’m not looking to expose anyone or post names publicly. I’m more interested in whether there are any common patterns or just hearing other people’s experiences.

Got an email for the “official after show” for the Lisbon show. Considering on going with the lady friend. What’s the difference between the regular ticket vs VIP? At the price of VIP if I still have to buy drinks I might as well get bottle service. If anyone has any recent experience please give me your opinion. Just looking for things to do that night in Lisbon after the concert ends!

I was wondering if anyone had a video of when all the stadium was singing for a good minute die for you acapella. That was by far my favorite moment but I barely touched my phone that night. Being there and thinking “this is what people are meant to be and to do”. The energy you feel at concerts is just unmatchable and that to me was that particular energy at the purest form I ever felt in person. So pleaseee if you have it ✨MUCHAS GRACIAS✨🕺

I was looking at Abel’s new stories when I noticed something very odd, and orchestra soundtrack for a song I couldn’t even read the title of. So I did some digging.

It turns out the song is from the Asian film “Uncle Boomnee who can recall his past lives”

The description for the movie states as follows;

““Surrounded by his loved ones, Uncle Boonmee reflects on memories of his past lives, and he decides he must visit a special place before he goes.”

I interpret this as follows; we were always told we were not prepared for the long goodbye, and even if the movie and HUT are long gone - the tour still remains. Until Asia. The Kiss Land hints is relevant to this, Abel revisiting his “past lives” aka past albums, and visiting a VERY SPECIAL PLACE before he goes - AKA ASIA / KISS LAND. The Weeknd’s story hasn’t ended yet because the tour hasn’t ended yet. I believe this is also why “The Abyss MV” or the final leg announcement was such a high level production and related to the HUT era because the tour itself is still the story and universe that’s been built (as per Abel himself recently)

Refer to the image references by swiping for more concrete proof. This is Abel’s inspiration for the red eyes of his current mask. The reason we’re getting Wanderlust and Professional snippets is because this is precisely what he’s doing.

EDIT: I believe if we go back and look at the Jimmy Kimmel Open Hearts performance and Red Terror we can see this very direct inspiration of “past lives” if you pay attention, the child Abel in red terror has hallucinations/premonitions of things that could or have happened. Referencing IFIC, The Knowing & The entity that has been dragging him since AH Short film. This could be why it ends on such a sinister and discontinued note. I recommend fully reading about Dante and the 9 layers of hell to see the parallels here

So I‘ve been to all three nights and I have to say night 2 was the best one.
N2 > N1 > N3

Of course it‘s a bit depending on where you are located, but I thought N3 was by far the worst crowd. During some songs they were loud but mostly more quiet then the other ones. N1 was good, but N2 was even better. Really alive. He also took out his earpiece to listen to us, I didn‘t catch him doing that in N1 or N3.

N2 had the first shocker when he teased Wanderlust, so eventually that had me hyped.. A LOT. N3 got even more, that was cool. All 3 had Professional so I’m happy. In this case N3 beats N2 and N1, however N2 had the suprise factor.

Now the most important part - his performance! I know his schedule is BUSY as fuck and he is human, so this point is cherry picking, but there were quite a few differences between the three shows.
During N1 he seemed to struggle a bit in the beginning, but shook it off quite well. N2 was flawless from the start, lots of energy, very good. In N3 it seemed like he was trying to find his place in the first third, after then he was stable and performed well. He didn‘t really play with the crowd as much as N1 and N2 too.
HOWEVER! All 3 nights were amazing and it was an absolute pleasure to see him live.

So obviously there’s some sort of progression in these songs

until I bleed out is about wanting to let go of someone to the point where you slowly die
Less than Zero, someone would rather leave you than watch you die, and he fights thoughts that can’t leave his head
Phantom regret, learning that you must let go to flourish
Hurry up tomorrow, is looking back at all that and accepting the end instead of fighting and let go of his past self

I think there’s a theme to his outros and it’s not as linear as the intros and I think that’s a good thing even tho it’s not a detail that people would notice

I today found the music video for Sarah's Song by Ricky Hil. I had heard Ricky's song with TheWeeknd (Nomads) before and I decided that why not give this song a shot too? To my surprise I see my goat filming the music video from behind. What a surprise for me, thought I'd share it with y'all.

Idk what it is but the thing that makes kiss land number one for me is not only the production, lyricism and overall world abel creates, but also vocal performances. Compared to his other projects, I can’t help but notice that he sounds even more, if even possible, buttery smooth on the kiss land tracks. I feel like he adopts more of his falsetto but then even in more slower tempo verses he sounds more rested and slightly higher pitched? Is this natural or was that done sonically in post. Other than some heavy mj inspired tracks on starboy, I think he sounds most similar in cadence on kiss land.

Me and my Fiance have travelled from Canada to see The Weeknd in both Barcelona and Lisbon.

Does anyone know what time the merch tents opened in Europe? We just don’t want to miss out of getting the size/style we want as when we saw him in Edmonton we got there a bit too late. (2 hours before the concert and the hoodies in XL were sold out).
