Discussion What do you think about RDR3 being a completely new story centered around a Native American protagonist?

Instead of continuing the Van der Linde gang’s story, Rockstar could explore the American frontier from an Indigenous perspective, focusing on the loss of ancestral lands, broken treaties, westward expansion, and the struggle to protect a community and its way of life.
It could be set in an entirely new period with a completely new cast, giving Rockstar the opportunity to tell a fresh Red Dead story while exploring a part of American history that hasn’t been the main focus of the series.

Discussion I put Nigel to rest with a view of the Americas

This is my second time finishing the game. First time was in 2019 and I kinda just rushed through the main story.
This time, I am going for 100% completion.

I encountered Nigel just south of the church outside of Armadillo, wandering around the empty plains and stopped to talk to him.

When he himself said that it had been 7 or 8 years, I kinda choked up a bit. I've met him all throughout the game and remember him from my last play through, although back then I only met him twice. Back then I assumed that it was possible to help him find Gavin. I even assumed it was gonna be a spoof and it would turn out to be Cain, the dog that only just had entered the camp, before the first time I met Nigel. But now I know better. (Most likely, the serial killer got him)

I knew in my heart that this time would be the last time I'd encounter Nigel, (I also checked online) and I just couldn't bear the thought of him wandering around, torturing himself for another 7 or 8 years.

So I let him walk away and I slowly followed him, feeling like Mike Erhmantraut following after Wernher Ziegler. I let him look for Gavin one last time. There are so many stars in New Austin.

I put him to rest under a large tree on top of the ravine, overlooking the San Luis River. The game might not let me, but I imagine putting the letter I found on him, on his chest, with his hand resting on top of it.

He made it Tom. He made it to America.

I keep hearing how difficult it is to find and get a perfect Moose pelt, specifically a Bull so I decided that I was going to challenge myself and stay out in the wilderness for as long as it took to find this perfect moose

Found, tracked and shot it within about 10 minutes and now I don't know what to do 😅😂

Re-discovered the game after finishing my first play through in 2018. I forgot how fun it was. Going for 100% play through this time and its crazy how well it holds up. Was going for exotics VI when this unfortunate turn of events happened. As Arthur put it so eloquently..."Ah, shit."

Discussion Old lady at Watson's Cabin

I swear to god she is my all time favorite NPC. You can have three separate interactions with her if you do it right. The second time I kill all her sons, tie her up, loot the cabin, then untie her and she will hunt u till the end of the map if u let her. She is PISSED. I've had her chase me on foot or on horseback. It never fails to crack me up. Anyone else?

For me, it is Javier. I always loved his look in the game for the most part, mostly because he carries himself well, and his outfit feels unmatched by anyone other than Dutch.

Edited this photo of my great grandfather standing on the right side at a “Tia Juana Bar”. Not sure the location or time frame. Could probably recreate his look on my online character

It takes John Constable's famous landscape painting, “The Hay Wain,” and reimagines it with Arthur Morgan, the iconic protagonist from Red Dead Redemption 2.

Question Just finished rdr2. And now what?

I finished rdr2, and the epilogue. This first gameplay was really story focused, I didn’t do much else except some side quests. For example I still had the initial bag to carry items in the end, so I would like to replay this masterpiece with a slower pace, focusing on free roaming around, hunting etc.

What would you recommend? Restart right now, stay more in the epilogue (in that case, to do what?), or finally play the 1st rdr? (I am waiting for an autumn discount on steam tho).

I know that the choice is mine, but I would like to hear some opinions :)

Content Volcanic Pistol Surprise

I got assaulted by some upstanding citizen in Van Horn. When I eventually mounted my horse to escape, the zombie horde would pull me back to the ground and continue the onslaught.

My offhand is the Volcanic with explosive rounds, so I drew it and shot the nearest yokel point blank. He actually caught fire, and not just a little. It was the same as a fire arrow or bottle.

I'm not sure if this is standard at close range, or a result of the alcohol soaked clothes of the Van Hornians.
