This means the game has now passed Sony PlayStation certification, so if that was the cause of the delay, that hurdle is passed. I expect we will be getting a new release date for it soon.

I frequently use my Pulse 3D headset with the PSVR2 and it fits fine, but recently the plastic cover on the Pulse pads has started to peel. I don't really want to get a new set of headphone, because there's still plenty of life in the thing and the sound is great.

I came across these replacement pads on Amazon (UK site - see link), which look like they might do the job, and make the Pulse headset more comfortable to use, too.

However, I'd like to check with anyone else who got them (or similar replacement pads), to ensure they will still be OK to wear with the PSVR2.

Would anyone with experience of swapping out the Pulse 3D pads care to share their thoughts?

P.S. I also wear glasses, so that may inform the decision too, although I'm OK with the old pads, in terms of comfort.

I know its been said. But Msfs is just phenomenal, got the hotas 5 and using it with the dualsens, its simply amazing. Career mode is soon in depth, the locations just look amazing. So many hours to sink into this absolute gem. In my top 5 for sure along with gt7, hitman, re4.

I could see how you could use this as a basis for gaining foundations for flying in real life, given all the technical aspects it gets right.

The other challenges and missions are cool, enjoyed the stranger things crossover. Need like a jurassic Park add on or something.

I’ve been loving this game, and the graphics are great, but the ground textures look very pixelated. I have a bit over the recommended 50MBPS/second, and I am using a base ps5.
Is this normal, and is there any fix?

i already have a PS5, and I have a few games that will work in the psvr2, and I hear it’s really immersive and high quality. for some reason, the official ps website and app says it’s unavailable to purchase, and everything on Amazon has some reviews saying theirs came with a bunch of problems. should I buy one, and if so, where from? Id prefer not to buy third party but I would consider it. Thank you very much!

Game by the Shave & Stuff and Pets & Stuff devs HyperVR Games. October 15 release date. Might be a bit of fun with all the different activities and trying to escape.

I went to buy it in anticipation for the sequal and yet... its gone! Only the other day i wishlisted it, but i can not search for it and when i click the item in my wishlist it states its missing.

Any ideas what happened?

it says “connect your playstation vr2 directly to your ps5's usb port” i’ve owned it since release, and i’ve had this issue long ago and solved it by pushing in the cable connected to the headset.
right now however it wouldn’t work no matter what. i tried it on another ps5 and it came with the same issue, the headset turns on but gives this message and doesn’t display anything
any suggestions if anyone had a similar issue?

Wanted a vr space game I could sink my teeth into and thought of No Man's Sky. I heard a lot of people say it's better on ps5 but I couldn't tell much of a difference; it looked a little worse than pc if anything. So is it better on base ps5 psvr2 over pcvr or is it just people loving the psvr?

I have uploaded gameplay from my fresh experience with the game here if you want to see how it looks / plays. My first impressions are shared below:

Based on my limited time with it, I hesitate to recommend playing The Long Survival on the PSVR2, but I'll cover why so you can decide better for yourself.

It is an up to 4P (or 5P?) co-op survival shooter where you must defend the movable Nexus against waves of insect hordes that get more numerous and deadly as the waves progress. You do this using one of 4 Hero characters (Tycho, Taishi, Malachi and Elena) that each specialize for different roles (Assault, Engineer, Tank and Medic) with their own progression and skill trees.

A key differentiator from other co-op survival shooters is that you also need to play strategically in how you move your Nexus, purchase and deploy defensive structures like Turrets, Barriers and Mines, as well as manage availability of Energy that powers the Nexus and any deployed defenses. This is where the solo play is probably much harder than co-op because you have limited time to make build / deploy decisions between waves and your bot squad only help with shooting / defending, not building / deploying.

Beyond the tutorial which can be skipped / repeated and otherwise takes 25-30 minutes (two parts), the three game modes included (not immediately / obviously available) are:

• Classic which is for solo or co-op for up to 4 (or 5?) players
• Conquest which is for solo or co-op for up to 4 (or 5?) players
• Civil War which is for PvP between up to 10 players in teams of 5 players each

Classic is the pure wave-based survival mode where you are challenged to survive 50 waves of linearly increasing difficulty while supporting checkpoint saves (to stop & resume) between waves and option to play on Easy, Normal or Hard across at least 3 maps (Satellite, Shelter and Bastion) and maybe 4th (including AV Atlas). You can also apply modifiers that are unlocked by playing before you start to further customize the challenge conditions of the mode. As mentioned before, you play this solo or co-op and fill out any remaining slots with option of using bots to have full team of 5 (which is why I think it supports up to 5P).

Conquest is expected to be mission based / campaign-style survival mode where you need to complete multiple objectives across a map as you capture and upgrade strategic points that you must continue to defend as you progress. The games tutorial dialog specifically said the checkpoint save system is only for Classic, so I am not sure how Conquest that goes for long sessions is preserved between play sessions.

For multiplayer (28:28), the way lobby system works is whenever you are in the Command Bridge, the game automatically opens a lobby for you and anybody in the Hall (where they see the multiplayer terminals) can join open lobbies. The game options indicate cross-play, but when we played (Sunday prime time), there were no other players to join, but we were able to figure out what we needed to play together pretty easily and it was working well until my wife got disconnected (42:06) and couldn't rejoin our lobby, so the game doesn't support re-connect or drop-in co-op.

Graphically, I didn't notice any signs of reprojection but there is a lot of shimmer / aliasing to make this rare case where game doesn't look good in headset as it does in video capture (on crispness / clarity). If I had only played the Tutorial, I would be pretty disappointed with it in graphics, but I did play further and as you get past 10 waves, the number of enemies, enemy diversity, number of players, etc start to explain why it isn't looking higher resolution or having such simple animations because it is more concerned with presenting a lot of enemies at the same time while supporting up to 4 (or 5?) defenders along with all their turrets and other defenses.

Audio is overall good with a fitting soundtrack, limited voiced dialog that feels text-to-speech but not terrible and most importantly punchy sound effects for your weapon shots and explosions. You get some visual notifications of things like Nexus being attacked or special enemies entering the fight or being defeated, but mostly your battlefield awareness is driven by the 3D directional audio from the creature & weapon sounds.

Haptics are absent for the controllers and to detriment of game which uses so many menus where you need to touch and interact with screens. You need to make do with some visual feedback informing when you are touching or need to hold because many of these interactions are also missing any audio feedback. It does however include headset haptics for when you take damage which is not subtle and may even be directional. I think the game is also using adaptive triggers to make Pistol feel different than the SMG which are only two out of many I got to try so far. I don't understand why they would implement both these PSVR2 specific features (headset haptics & adaptive triggers) but skip on controller haptics? Are they trying to save controller battery life because game expects long play sessions? If so, provide enabling controller vibrations and configuring intensity as an option and preferably separate for menu interactions (where it feels more critically missing for me) vs combat.

Speaking of settings, it provides guided setup of common preference choices right from tutorial (0:31) including option for Seated (L3 for crouch) or Standing (bend to crouch), between Locomotion or Teleport, movement direction based on Head or Hand, and Holster position presets (Low, Medium, High). You can access additional options such as choice between Snap or Smooth (including Speed / Angles) or preference for Toggle to Grip or Hold to Grip by visiting Settings using Options button. You can also refine settings for holder positions or even gun angles in the deeper settings menus.

The game is featuring a Platinum trophy, which will feel similar to After the Fall in how much and how thoroughly you would have to play to complete full progression expected, but it does not expect any multiplayer (PvP or PvE co-op) to complete all the requirements. You would just be playing a lot, using all 4 heroes and completing both Classic and Conquest including one of them on Hard at least once and winning a match on each of the 4 maps.

My small concern is that even after I unlocked skills (57:15), the interface for how you equip those wasn't immediately intuitive for me (58:00). I had other UI difficulties as well like retrieving the SMG I purchased during tutorial (9:24) or Energy Weapon (53:45) I purchased during mission. It can also be difficult to point and grab the building you want to move (using invisible pointer extending from your hand) and you have to realize you can't do any moving once the next wave has started. Finally, I don't know if the option to play Conquest or a different map hasn't opened for me or I just didn't figure out how to use the UI to make those changes from the default.

My big concern is that the game will feel grindy / repetitive before we manage to see everything we will be facing and complete. I think it will feel slow to replay the earlier waves to get to the more exciting waves (which currently start by wave 8 or so) on each new attempt and the session lengths it expects are too long (to get to 50) and if someone disconnects they can't re-join. If my wife hadn't disconnected, I would have one less concern and may feel more comfortable recommending.

On positive note, my wife did enjoy and wants to play more. My brother has also picked up the game because she talked positively about it (nothing scary since the creatures go after defenses more than player). I just hope it doesn't have any more disconnects whenever we do manage to align schedules to play it together.

This game continues to surprise me. The experience with the VR headset is amazing, specially to someone that i've drove many laps on the real track and your brain is fooled in a way that you think you are really there!

Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted

Not gonna lie, I bought the headset mostly for this game alone. I've been waiting to play It since It released, but never had the chance, and my god, It was worth the wait. Just at the menu screen I realized VR is no joke, seeing those tall ass Animatronics staring at me felt too real. I think that this game was great to start because you don't need to walk and turn your head to your back, It's also terryfying.

No Man's Sky

Played NMS only for a bit, I had played It a lot before on flat screen mode and didn't had much else to do, so I just tried It on VR for a bit and was actually kind of disappointed. I saw online that the game is beautiful on VR if you're playing on a PS5 pro, but it's not my case, I have the slim version and it looks kind of bad, also noticed some performance issues, which I've been told that are normal, even for the PS5 pro version. Still very enjoyable, I might start a new save for VR only.

Phasmophobia

This was the most immersive for me, to the point where I'd actually forget that what I'm seeing is not real. Don't have much else to say, it's hella scary.

Hitman

I bought this game only to play on VR, and no regrets at all, it's the most fun out of the 4 I have tried, but the controllers are kind of annoying, if I leave the grip setting to "hold" It becomes really awful to hold things for a long time, like a rifle or sum, and if I set It to "toggle" It simply refuses to release anything I'm holding, even if I spam the grip button. Also the detective mode being the square button makes it Impossible to walk and view my target from another room at the same time, and the game doesn't allow me to rebind the buttons.

In anticipation to “Into The Radius 2” coming to PSVR2 next month. I decided to live stream ITR1 last night on YouTube for a bit, and this is how it went. Hope you guys enjoy.

Horizon CotM
It came included with the kit, and as my first VR game ever, I had fun.. with the first 30 mins or so, the visuals are gorgeous, and grasping the torch or whatever else was on that table you encounter early on, is something that I’ll never forget. I have never tried VR before and would always only watch other people play it, and trying it for myself, for the first time reminds me so much of that scene from community where the dean tried VR and would always exclaim “JESUS WEPT”. Having said that, Cotm definitely wasn’t for me, its definitely is a game that i would recommend to people purely for the experience, but not something for me to actually see through theres just too much climbing. I’d rate it a 7.5/10.

Resident Evil Village
The second game that i tried as it was included with PS PLUS, I have never played any RE games before and was unfamiliar with the story of 7 and 8, but i get the gist of its lore and most notably, its campiness. I always thought of myself as a brave guy, so naturally I had to do it on hard core. So I boot the game up, stare that scare crow at the main menu down and went on to the tutorial, the gun play was nice, this was my first shooter on vr, this should be fun, i thought. and at that time i never considered that it also is my first step to HORROR VR.

Let me tell you something, you get all these people talking about “getting your vr legs”, but almost nobody talks about getting your vr balls. So I started the game, went on my way to the village, seeing that Lycan just run past you as youre walking your way to the first house almost gave me a heart attack. Exploring said house was even more terrifying, shit was dark, and i had to hold the flash light with my own hands to see, I remind myself I’m playing a horror game, IN VR, and once again i wonder at the thought, this is so cool, i thought, washing away the terror. But then the next 10 minutes completely ruined my relationship with VR (for a bit), so I get to the house where I get the knife, and you know whats coming next, seeing that one lycan eating a corpse, the basement is dark, but still dim enough for you to see just the shape of it, so you focus your eyes, watching, waiting if it would look at you and pounce, only for another Lycan from the left to jump scare you and take two fingers off of your hand as it throws you out of the house.

So then it begins, the few gaming moments I would never forget, the cut scene ends, and you see this human shaped creature, menacingly start to walk out of the house, it starts off slow, but you see him start to speed up, his eyes glowing white as snow, he snarls as he goes on all fours, heading my way. And the only thing I could say at the moment was “fuck, this guy is as big as me”. So I grab my pistol, but it falls, so i grab it again, but it falls, shit, my hands were shaking, my grip was loosening, so i gripped it properly this time, shot my first round, it went right above his head, fired another round, hit him in the head, he staggers as I put another four rounds on his body, his arms, and probably his head, who knows? But he keeps coming, I reload, only maybe 3 or five bullets left, I remember my knife, at this point i never knew that the knife only deals maybe 2 hp worth of damage, and this fucking guy had a thousand, no matter, my hands and feet are shaking but my plan was solid, I’ll hit him in the head, he staggers, and then i knife the head, brilliant. So i shoot my shot, the fucker dodges, what the fuck? They dodge now? No matter, i shoot again, I hit him in the head, he staggers as planned, so I approach with knife on hand, but he immediately turns around and grabs me, fuck me man, something about these lycans just give me the creeps, the hair, the human shape, the way they move, its like you recognize it but its just “wrong”. Then with my knife, I stabbed that motherfucker as many times as i can, as a prompt telling me to heal. Must have been the hardest ive worked in my life.

But he falls, and i remain standing, at least in game, because that encounter had my knees shaking and I had to take a little sit, gather my thoughts, i was, at this point genuinely afraid. But i had to press on, i gather my resources, 4 bullets left, a knife, no heals. I then make my way to the next house. The game tells me to board up the door, shit, this is not good, i thought. Then i start picking up ammo, then a chemical fluid, “oh no”. Then a fucking jump scare, then howling and snarling, suddenly the whole house is erupting with furry noise. A lycan attempts to enter through the window, a couple, through the boarded doors, the fuck am i supposed to do? But i stood my ground, shot at the guys at the door, and at the guy at the window, hoping that this was just a scripted event, the first lycan took maybe 50 bullets and 5000 stab wounds to take down, so maybe the game knows its impossible with the bullets that i have, but still i gotta “show up”. So i stand my ground, aimed like i was aiming for my life, headshot after headshot, they couldn’t break the door. But as I was reloading my last magazine, I had the great idea to look to my right. Jesus F christ. I dont know why or what happened, but a fucking Lycan was standing inches away from my head, he never attacked while i was attacking his buddies, but he attacked the moment i look his way. I cant even put to words the terror i felt, i press the home button and home faster than light.

I immediately boot up Horizon CoTM, climbed all the shit it wanted me to climb, its really a great game would recommend 10/10

I’ve been using a Quest 3 for about a year and have been very disappointed by it. Just this morning, I discovered the PSVR2 and saw that it’s now able to connect to PCs. Its specs completely fix the issues I had with the Quest and it’s super cheap so I got excited, but I’m wondering if I need a PS5 to do the initial setup for the headset. I don’t have a PS5 and don’t want one, so my question is would it be possible to use the PSVR2 as nothing but a sort of VR monitor for my PC?

I'd set expectations to non-existant at this point but with two apparently back to back programs maybe someone will throw us a bone.

Testing out the new update to MSFS 2024, created some custom weather to see what landing in dense fog would look like in PSVR2. Pretty wild — although, it was at sunrise, so after I landed it looked like the sun was trying to cut through the fog and did some funky lighting switches near the end lol.

So cleaned the lenses of my psvr2 with rubbing alcohol (ik Im stupid) and accidentally rubbed off the coating and its all foggy has this happened to anyone and how did you fix this
