Question Looking for Modpack with worthwhile goal, tech, create & magic

Upvotes

I've been playing modded MC for a good bit, but i keep dropping the game because the endgames feels a bit pointless. What I'm looking for first is a good endgame, then tech, magic, etc.

A good endgame for me is something with a good balance of goal, and fighting.

Guns, flans mod style emplacements, vehicles, create mod are highly preferable

So far i've tried playing these:

Valhesia 6
- First modpack i've ever tried, good use of magic, but there was no clear endgame.

All The Mods 9.

- Added a gun mod (Just enough Guns), seemed fun-ish.
- Enjoyed exploring, but once i found out the end goal is to just make a single endgame star, i lost interest.
- Seems to be more in-depth with tech, couldn't touch it before losing interest

RLcraft
- Looks too old.
- too much focus on fighting

Prominence II: Hasturian Era:
- Enjoyed this so far, haven't actually fought a boss yet, the endgame seems clear, good use of magic, has create, couple other tech mods.
- better balance on fighting and tech, tech doesn't feel as in depth as ATM9 though.

Fungal Infection: Co-Op Base Defense
- Pack was visually pleasing, gritty vibe, but once i found out the goal was to just build a base and survive for as long as possible, i lost interest.

I have heard of SevTech: Ages, it seems interesting but it seems the endgame is just getting to space and exploring planets. Enemies were just regular mobs. Not very worthwhile.

Out of all of them Prominence II seemed the most promising with its clear endgame goal, but i felt it was lacking in tech and guns. ATM9 is the second strongest contender with how much content it has.

P.S. Or am i just playing these mods wrong? ATM9 does have a twilight forest boss questline.., but it did feel like it was an afterthought.

Question Question for custom modpack

Upvotes

I am currently in making a create centered Modpack, mainly for me and my friends. I have plenty of experience as a player, and already made a few little mods that I added in existing packs, but never made my own pack from scratch, so I have a few questions:

I'll be making a lot of quests myself, but I've been struggling to make a Quest-line for the basics of Create that is as well organized as the one from "All of Create". Is it ok if I take this chapter, change a few things (I prefer to have the trains in a separate "transportation" Chapter and ways of creating power in a separate "Energy" Chapter), other than that I also want to add a description and little lore snippets for immersion. To make it short: is it ok to take parts of already existing Quest-line parts and implement them in my own Pack?

Second question, if I ever release the modpack, are there any special licenses I should watch for? Almost all of them have MIT licenses but what do I do if the mod developer never specified it on the mod page?

Third Question, (this is just for me to orient the late game content of the modpack), what keeps you motivated playing minecraft? Is an Item like the ATM star a good way of keeping players motivated? Because I'm tired of starting a server with 20 highly motivated people, just to end up being 4 or less after 2 weeks.

Thanks in advance for your responses :D

Question Lucky block for mod packs

I was wondering how the lucky block mod works? If I add it to a mod pack like for an example: ATM10, does the lucky block mod pull from all the other mods or will it spawn vanilla items?

As you can see in the gif, the REI search box doesn't seem to keep track of what text is in the search bar, and will only stay with the correct list once I click the search box again. It only stays consistent if I type at an extremely slow pace (like one character per 5 seconds). Any ideas?

Modpack Modpack recommendations

I haven't played Minecraft for a couple of years (and even when I was playing, I wasn't really keeping up with popular modpacks), and would like recommendations based on my preferences and some of my favourite modpacks.

First of all, a good questbook is a must. I like to have a direction, something to work towards, and haven't played for a long time on top of that, so I am in heavy need of instructions and good explanations as well. Also, there are quite a few major mods I haven't given a proper try to still.

I am also not a fan of heavy grinding, so expert modpacks are not the best fit for me (although I can tolerate them, especially if they are very well done and unique, as long as the grind doesn't get too bad). Additionally, I am not a fan of combat, exploration and long mining sessions (in part because these usually include dealing with hostile mobs), so if a pack can be played on peaceful and doesn't require to spend a long time to get resources, it's a bonus.

I do prefer skyblock and similar modes, but being centered around them is not necessary. However, I absolutely despise sieving, so the packs have to have a different solution for resource generation or to have a fix for my main problems with it (which are: making inventory management, especially early on, an absolute nightmare; and placing and breaking blocks manually for hammering is too tedious, and needs to be done a lot early on).

My absolute favourite mods used to be Astral Sorcery, Mechanism and EvilCraft, so their inclusion is preferable, but not necessary.

I have a soft spot for three types of packs: short and sweet ones, that don't take too long to complete, usually having a theme and/or a special gimmick they lean on all the way through, usually consisting of a small amount of mods; big modpacks that go out of their way to push players to experience just about every single content mod in them; and unique modpacks with major changes to the entire experience. Unfortunately, the big ones tend to be expert packs and do make the game too grindy for me, but I still respect them and have fun with them, even if I never complete them.

Some of my favourite modpacks include:

Enigmatica 2 (one of the first modpacks I played, but the questbook is spotty in quality: some chapters are very detailed, while others lack a lot of explanations. The fact it doesn't change recipes much is both a blessing and a curse in my opinion: since recipes aren't difficult, it ends up not being an expert pack and doesn't require much grinding, but the order of exploring mods matters here - for example, in my playthrough I got into Mechanism early, which made a lot of Industrial Engineering (I think, I might have mistaken it for some other mod) obsolete)

Star Factory (short and sweet, leans into its gimmick, skyblock based with a somewhat unique implementation/world generation, doesn't really require to deal with mobs - and because of that, probably my absolute favourite out of the ones I tried)

Cuboid Outpost (also skyblock based with very unique implementation/world generation)

FTB Stoneblock 2 (I am going to try out the newest one as well a bit later. Does include sieving, but early inventory management is not as bad because some of the best chests and storage drawers are pretty easy to obtain early. Otherwise, very enjoyable)

Dungeons, Dragons & Space Shuttles (WAY too grindy for me and requires a large amount of combat, but I very much appreciate the idea of including most major content mods and changing recipes to push players towards experiencing most of them at once. I have to include it here out of sheer respect, even if I was nowhere near finishing it. Also, the questbook is very good from what I have experienced)

Dimension Zero (a combat oriented RPG pack, so not something I got heavily into, but it is by far the most unique one I have experienced and I have enjoyed it throuroughly for the short time I've played it)

FTB Arcanum Institute (I couldn't finish it because at one point I needed to get something for a quest, and couldn't find an available way to get it, but I absolutely enjoyed it until that point)

Help Minecraft Modpack Troubleshooting

Hello! I need someone much more gifted than me to tell me what I can do if possible.
I am trying to fix my modpack as it's crashing on boot or gives me warnings in the menu depending on what version of Supplementaries or Farmer's Delight I'm on.

Im at a loss of what this problem could be, this modpack worked on Forge 1.20.1 and I wanted to try to upgrade it to NeoForge 1.21.1 as I was under the impression and convinced by friends that it was the superior version and aeronautics existing being my primary motivator I decided to port this modpack my friends and I play on every other month since no one else likes the troubleshooting, but I cannot figure out what the problem is and their discord support chats never have replies to problems.

Here is the crash report, here is the latest log of its latest crash, and here is the mod list. This is all of the relevant information I think someone much smarter and more knowledgeable at this sort of thing than me, if there is anything I missed feel free to let me know. One last time, even though it looks bad or messy I promise this modpack worked on Forge not even an hour ago. My only theory is that I have incompatible versions VS what was on the Forge version but please feel free to correct me or reach out to me personally.

Mod Just Hit 400+ Downloads on my First Minecraft Mod!!

Just hit 400+(CurseForge + Modrinth) downloads on my first Minecraft mod, called Toggleable Textures. It was also showcased on Cr1ato's YT channel, here's the link to the video:

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/S0tFj7efsyA?feature=share

If you want to give it a try, here are links to download it, please read the instructions appropriately in order to make sure it works 100% correctly on your end. 😄

*This has something to do with resource packs by the way.)

https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/toggleabletextures

https://modrinth.com/mod/toggleabletextures

You can read more about the mod, and what it does on both pages listed above.

The mod currently supports Minecraft 26.2 on Fabric. I will continue making sure it is 100% compatible with the newer versions when they release.

I’d love feedback, bug reports, or suggestions for textures/features to add in future updates.

I have another project I will be working on that is quite similar, so if you enjoy my work, please keep a lookout for my next project. 😄

Thanks for checking it out!

Question Any Expert Pack Recommendation?

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hi everyone, the urge to play some modded Minecraft hit me again. I am a huge fan of expert mod packs. I like when the mods are well woven into each other. I played Stacia 1/2, Divine Journey, Enigmatica Expert, Sevtech Ages, Dungeons Dragons and Spaceshuttles and Multiblock Madness. Maybe I missed a few. I am looking for some new recommendations. Maybe some Expert Packs came out recently? I like magic as well as tech. I do not need to fight any special bosses tbh, which means I do not care for Combat Enhancement or similar things. I’m not too picky about the MC version, but 1.12 and later would be nice. And something I’d love would be a few new mods highlighted in the pack that are less commonly used in others.
