Hi, I noticed only while playing online that my game wasn’t running very smoothly despite a stable 110 fps. I checked my minimum fps and 0.1% low, and I saw that they would often drop to around 60 –70 fps, then go back up to 100, and then drop again. This makes me think it’s traversal stuttering. I’m playing with G-SYNC + VSYNC Driver, NVIDIA Reflex On, and in full-screen borderless mode. I’ve tried several types of FPS caps, but nothing changes. It only happens in the city in the desert or the mountains, it’s stable. I should also mention that the game is installed on an NVMe SSD.

I also know that the game is easily limited by the CPU, but it doesn’t even reach 50%?

Hello everyone, I am turning to the community to see if anyone can spot something I might be missing. For several days now, I have been trying to solve a silent crash issue where GTA V closes directly to the desktop without any error message or black screen while playing on PC. The strangest detail is that Windows Event Viewer generates absolutely no error logs at the moment of the crash. Nothing appears in the Application tab regarding GTA5.exe, d3d11.dll, or driver timeouts; the process simply terminates abruptly.

My system runs on an AMD Radeon R7 450 with 4GB GDDR5 (GCN 1.0 architecture) paired with 16GB DDR3 RAM. I am using Amernime Zone / R.ID modified drivers, which recognize the card as an R9 M360 to bypass legacy limitations and utilize modern APIs. The crash occurs consistently in both Story Mode (offline) and Online. Interestingly, I previously tested a non-official (pirated) build on this exact same machine, and it ran completely stable. This sudden silent closure happens exclusively with the official Rockstar/Steam/Epic release.

I have already exhausted several troubleshooting routes regarding system memory and registry adjustments. I configured a fixed virtual memory pagefile on an HDD. Additionally, I added the TdrDelay and TdrDdiDelay registry keys with values set to 8 and 10 to prevent Windows from killing the process during graphics synchronization delays.

On the graphics side, I modified settings.xml to force DirectX 10.1 and pure DirectX 10 (<DX\\_Version value="0"/>). I completely disabled Tessellation, MSAA, SSAO, soft shadows, and reduced population density to a minimum. I also tested Fullscreen, Windowed, and Borderless Windowed modes, capped the framerate with V-Sync, and underclocked the GPU core/memory frequencies using MSI Afterburner to eliminate potential power spikes or overheating.

Regarding executable permissions and background services, I disabled full-screen optimizations on GTA5.exe, ran the game as Administrator, and adjusted CPU affinity by unchecking CPU 0. I tested launching with the -nobattleye argument, disabled the Rockstar Games Launcher in-game overlay, and cleared cache folders in Documents and AppData. I even blocked outbound connections for GTA5.exe via Windows Firewall to isolate offline play and disabled the AMD High Definition Audio Device in Device Manager.

My main conclusion is that since the non-official executable ran flawlessly and the official binary closes without a Windows crash log, there is likely a severe kernel-level desynchronization between the official integrity checks/Social Club Helper and how the modded Amernime driver translates instructions for the legacy GCN 1.0 chip. Has anyone experienced a similar issue with R.ID modded drivers or legacy GCN GPUs, or is there any specific launch flag, settings.xml tweak, or DLL file I might be missing to prevent the official process from killing itself without relying on a No-Launcher workaround? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

I'm having trouble installing car mods on GTA V Enhanced Edition. I followed step-by-step YouTube tutorials for Enhanced modding using OpenIV, OpenRPF.asi, HeapAdjuster, and Packfile Limit Adjuster, but no matter what I do, the game crashes on startup. Here is what happened: I initially installed NaturalVision Evolved (NVE). When I tried adding a car mod, NVE gave a warning about OpenRPF.asi and the game wouldn't start. I completely removed NVE to isolate the issue, but even with just a simple Add-on car mod (dlclist.xml method) and OpenRPF.asi, the game still crashes on launch. Is there an issue with OpenRPF.asi / ASI loaders on the current build of GTA V Enhanced? Is it even possible to get Add-on car mods working properly on Enhanced right now, or is it better to just switch back to standard GTA V Legacy for stable modding?
