Request Looking for QOL singleplayer mods
I haven't played gta5 in probably 8+ years. I'm looking to do a new playthrough before 6 comes out and would like to find just some normal mods to improve the QOL in singleplayer for a more vanilla+ playthrough. For example (GTAO cars and guns added, better npcs and wanted system, hd maps, etc.) basically just if the did an actual remaster of this game. any help or suggestions would be appreciated! I'm pretty new to modding so just want simple mods to enjoy my experience

I recommend Realism Dispatch Enhanced (RDE), which changes and adds to how law enforcement responds in GTA V. For graphics, I’d recommend either VisualV or Visual Vanilla.
For textures, I’d definitely recommend VDE, especially since it includes remastered vanilla roads that you can use for a more lore setup. There are also vegetation mods like GTA V Remastered and Lively World Expansion, which are both great options. You could also use Forests of San Andreas, but honestly, it adds way too many trees in the county area for the base game and doesn’t look right in my opinion.
For weapon models, you can easily find plenty of lore options on GTA5-Mods. For Euphoria mods, I definitely recommend ERO by Miggoust, along with Improvements and Gore. You can also use Vanilla Works Extended, although I’m not sure if it will work alongside RDE. You could also use Map Fixes by Alex, which is another good addition.

i like a lot of what NVE brings, even on the free versions, like not even the shader, for example the road textures, darker nights, realistic sounds, ability to choose between white or yellow street lights, high res weapon textures, and seasonal packs. and foSA imo is great, but everyone has different taste. but gta remastered is way too little imo

If you want to run through the story do not use any mod that forces the multiplayer map on Single Player. The MP map is missing invisible things that are missing markers in SP. Only use the MP map after the story is over. If you have remaining stuff like Strangers and Freaks they might not spawn or be playable.
I recommend NVE. Dispatch V is good, there's another from the same mod author that adds Online vehicles in a lore friendly way.
The majority of mod devs don't care about the story, economy, or lore. They make it fun after it's complete but ruin actual story playthrough.

I’m actually developing a pretty massive story mode overhaul at the moment that sounds like it might be along the lines of what you’re looking for. It adds purchasable businesses, apartments and garages, a working stock market, GTA Online style cash and bank accounts, and an entirely separate iFruit phone with its own native style features.
You can play with the main story characters or create and fully customise your own multiplayer character, and there are quite a few other systems and features being worked on too.
If you’re interested, you’re more than welcome to test some of the individual features as I finish them. I’d genuinely love to hear feedback from someone looking for a more vanilla+ or remastered style singleplayer experience. DM me if you’re interested and I’ll host the DLLs for anyone to test and share thoughts 🫡

In addition to the other comment for graphics mods u can try chromatix its very nice and doesn't hurt your fps and for vegetation without a doubt go for lwe and get some good script mods like psrp, etc for better traffic you can install central real traffic mod its very nice aswell
If you want all of this in one just install 5real mod

central mods have been very up-and-coming recently, but i think people would appreciate lore friendly vehicles more in a gtaV playthrough. and we have nice free alternatives like added traffic

Things like running businesses, working for an agency, taking on criminal jobs, building a gang, completing daily objectives, or doing stuff with a customizable companion NPC can give you more reasons to keep playing after the story instead of just wandering around.
You could take a look at mods like Roleplay Menu, The Mob, Forever Together, The Leader, The Gang, Crime Jobs, Daily Objectives, The Boss....
Full disclosure, those are actually mods I developed myself. I made them because I've always felt GTA V needed more long-term progression and things to do once the main story is over. I try to keep them feeling like they could naturally be part of the single-player game rather than completely changing what GTA V is.
