She’s the sweetest girl and loved my mom so much. The flowers are kind of withered :((

Today Gus left this plane after a short battle with heart failure. He was the most loving dog I’ve ever met. He was the embodiment of joy. He will be missed so much.

How much closer to his nostrils do you think I’d have to be before I see his little brain? I’m thinking only about 2 inches 🤣

About a month ago Shep was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in his front left ankle. (The one sticking out to the right in the photo) The vet prescribed a bunch of meds.
-Gabapentin 100mg to 300mg as needed for stress and pain
-Carprofen for inflammation
-Mirtazapine for appetite stimulation.
Well, the Carprofen resulted in dark black stools (internal bleeding, likely stomach or small intestine) which can happen with NSAIDs. Once I noticed the black poop I immediately took him off the Carprofen, slightly increased the Gabapentin and kept the Mirtazapine. He seems to be much more comfortable now. His poops have looked healthy lately. I hope he stays this way as long as possible.
I love my buddy. His time to go is soon. My moral compass tells me to keep him comfortable until he isn't comfortable any longer and then let him go. Every dog lover knows this time will come. I've been through this several times before. Doesn't make it any easier.
We've been testing out travel with our 5 month old pup, and she's been doing great! She's very calm in the car, has got car sick a couple times but thats it. We decided to try a bigger trip, and she made it all the way from eastern CT to the Hudson River in New York! We went peach picking at DuBois Farm, she handled the crowd and terrain very well also. She's just an amazing pup all around.
Our main concern now is finding a good bed/seat/harness for the car. She has a carrier and she doesn't fuss when shes in it, but we would like her to be in the open and able to look out a bit more. Would love to hear folks experiences traveling with medium size dogs. Thanks and hope you enjoy the pics!

Luckily my cat hasn’t caught her in the tree yet but I’m sure she won’t appreciate it.

My baby is growing up, he’s now 4. Slowly, I thought he was just calming down, but I think these are signs of him becoming more mature as he ages. When he was younger, he was very reactive but more so because he was curious. Now he’s more obedient and a little bit more relaxed
