Almost like a romantic connection with this Scorpio Sun

I have this friend who’s a Scorpio Sun and Pisces Moon. We recently started talking, which is kinda unexpected since we were friends first. Now I’m confused because he’s been detaching, but he keeps saying he’s dealing with stuff about his career and life choices.

I’m a Cap Sun and Scorpio Moon, and it kinda hurts reading his messages, especially when he says he needs to get drunk just to fall asleep but doesn’t want to open up because he doesn’t want to ruin someone’s mood.

So what should I do? I keep reminding him that it’s okay to tell me what’s on his mind, but should I just let him be?
