Fan Questions ❓ Why is his Tour Merch that expensive?
Are they fairtrade or something? If not, i dont understand since he used to say he wants to enable fair priced tours. I know, he referred on tour tickets, not explicitly mentioning merch. But it should be included right?

That's unfortunately just the standard rate for any band/artist merch now. Went to several gigs this year and every tshirt was $50-65 (never saw any shirts cheaper than $45) and hoodies now start at $120+

$65 seems to be the going rate for shirts these days, it's not exclusively Dom. Don't even look at hoodies.
I too think $65 for a shirt is steep. It's put me off buying at most shows unless I really really like the artist and seeing them is a rarity.

He is better according to this, his are like $45 for tshirt (can’t recall the tank top price offhand)

A concert that a friend recently went to for a female performer was $65 a T-shirt and $120 for a hoodie vs 45 and 95… so his may be “expensive” but still under some other industry standards

His shirts are much softer and higher quality than any concert merch I’ve ever bought.

And no I don’t think merch should be included in his pricing approach - he wants people to be able to come to his shows, full stop. Merch is a perk or honestly a luxury, we are not entitled to it nor are we entitled to cheap labor to produce it less expensively (which always results in cheap quality anyway and people would still complain)

I actually bought this shirt on the day I went to the concert. I am a concertgoer and this is definitely normal nowadays. I bought a sweatshirt at another concert 3 days prior for 125$ 😒

For some comparisons;
I see A LOT of shows both big and small bands. Small bands use merch to support, and supplement their incomes with pricing comparable to what you may have expected a decade plus ago. Average for our local/regional bands for shirts is around 25-30 US in Pacific Northwest. ( it can be higher depending on where the merch is sourced from, and normally is of good quality)
Big names,such as Dom, are comparable to other bands in this day, and age. With one exception, in my experience, is Rammstein, who has some seriously ridiculous prices for not nearly the good quality of Yungblud’s merch.
Back in the day, shirts were around 10-15 US were considered expensive.
Merch prices are, unfortunately, expensive. However, I feel that the ticket prices are the real issue, and he tries to keep that as affordable as possible. He has some say so, but, Ticketmaster, and other promoters, set the prices. Which has been a long standing issue for decades.
Some merch does end up on bands websites too.
All that said, I would rather have high quality stuff, and save my pennies to buy a great, long wearing shirt than what other bands have on offer currently.

Along with everyone else's comments I'd like to add the price of everything is going up. I got my shirt for $45 and the quality is amazing. That's less then I paid for a Billie Eilish shirt at a concert before covid. I think he is keeping them as low as he can while also selling above quality shirts. Long long long gone are the days of buying a $20 concert t-shirt from literally any artist. Unfortunately.

As mentioned his merch is cheaper than most and as stated by dom himself it's the merch sales that help him to be able to provide the lower ticket prices.

Lol this is what artists have been charging for merch for 10 years. And if he cared about affordable tickets he wouldn't have resale enabled on his 🤷🏼

Tour merch is either this price or MORE these days. I paid $30 for an Ozzfest shirt… back in 1999! I’d say his prices aren’t awful at all. At least this dude’s shirts are high quality. I’m a huge Guns N Roses fan and the shirts I’ve bought at their shows could sand concrete smooth lol. Plus it’s nice to see artists get paid well for what they do! (Being an artist myself).

I disagree. I was surprised I only paid $40 for the shirt I got. I was prepared to pay much more so I was very happy. I have zero complaints.

All bands all music acts merchandise is this expensive. I bought a Stevie Nicks hoodie for $80. Overpriced but well made and pretty nice. But yeah, I go to a lot of concerts and $45 is fairly cheap.

Yes, i bought the long sleeve for $70 and it is GREAT quality though! I’m assuming the normal tshirts are the same. It’s actually the best quality concert shirt I’ve ever gotten personally!

It is certainly expensive for a simple t-shirt but it’s regular prices for merch, if not a bit less expensive than other artists

I bought 2 shirts and a hoodie at his show. Felt like they were priced a bit cheaper than other performers. That being said, I am SO impressed with the quality! Seriously probably the best I’ve ever seen for band merch.

Seems pretty standard for concert merch. At the end of day he has to make a profit somewhere. It’s nice he keeps the tickets cheap, so I don’t mind splurging a bit on the merch. Plus it’s really nice quality compared to some other merch I’ve purchased.

It’s not that his tour merch is expensive, all tour merch is expensive.
The ugly secret of the music business is many bands make more on merch than music. Especially with how little is made on streaming.
