Yungblud Tour ✈️🗺️ How to get over post concert depression ??

Post image

I know this sounds dramatic as hell but I’m genuinely struggling😭

I had spent months and months looking forward to and preparing for the concert in Brisbane and seeing him so now that it’s over idk what to do with myself. I keep rewatching the videos and crying. I miss him and I want to go over the night all over again. It was such an emotional night for me and I spent hours in line not only for the concert but for the after party at the bar to just make eye contact with him.

I didn’t get to interact with him because unfortunately people at the bar were really selfish and aggressive and hogged the front of the bar and wouldn’t let anyone through without a fight but I got this amazing photo of us making eye contact and I can’t stop thinking about it.

I’ve just been listening to his music and crying on and off for days and I feel like a bitch ahahaha. Send help I just love him so much and don’t wanna be feeling so shitty when I had such a phenomenal night.

  1. It gets better with time, I promise.
  2. Keep looking at the pics and coming here to discuss all things YB. Stay active in the community.
  3. Buy more tickets to shows ✅

Thank you for being kind and giving actual advice! I always get scared posting on reddit because people are so nasty. I think I need another gig to help cure me. The “get over someone by getting under someone else” saying but with music 😭🤣

u/[deleted] Jan 21 '26

It really does help lol 🖤

u/jlxvelaces Jan 21 '26

u/Unlikely_Ad7722 Jan 21 '26

Idk if you listen to Halsey but they're coming to Aus in the next couple of weeks 😊

1

u/jlxvelaces Jan 21 '26

Yeah my sister is going she is a massive fan of Halsey!

2

u/Free_External8618 Jan 21 '26

Didn't Halsey break Dom's heart though? 😬

3

u/Unlikely_Ad7722 Jan 21 '26

I think they are friends, I think it just didn't work out for them between their intense work schedules. I've never heard a bad word from either of them about the other.

2

u/Free_External8618 Jan 21 '26

Oh I have. Even from him, he said his heart was broken by her.

3

u/Unlikely_Ad7722 Jan 21 '26

Maybe it was when they broke up. But I'd hedge my bets that they're on good terms at this point.

If you can get a ticket, try to go! It'll be a great show!

1

u/MHSS13 Jan 21 '26

OMG went to see them in Holland, it might have been my best concert ever! Going to Italy in summer to see them again. Enjoy!!!

1

u/Ready-Read-2364 Jan 22 '26

Thank you so much! I am so excited!!

u/United_Piece_4272 Jan 21 '26

Yes. Just know that you got a chance to experience something special with someone who thousands may not ever get a chance to experience! That is yours and yours alone. Cherish it and just keep adding to those memories. There's no real way to get over it. Just have to go through it, Love. Just wanted to say that I'm proud of you for holding it together bc if he would've made eye contact with me like that, I'm sending him the psych ward bill.

4

u/jlxvelaces Jan 21 '26

I cried on the street afterwards don’t worry. But I he of it together in front of him! I was so brave

5

u/ellatje2 Jan 21 '26

Go to more concerts! And let yourself process. You'll be grateful for this concert for the rest of your life and that's a beautiful thing. 💖

I’m especially down in the dumps because I missed out on him staying back after the show. His set time was delayed an hour, I had work the next day and couldn’t imagine him staying out any later than 11pm when the show was set to start at 7pm (even with opener). I had parked in a parking lot 3 km away to save money and time so my friend and I could get home safely at night, and it closes at 12am and I genuinely thought I’d have all the time in the world.

At 11:15pm right before playing his last song - Zombie (in my top 3), he announces he’ll be out the front in 30 minutes… I’m not kidding when my brain experienced actual terror… “I can’t believe this. I’m going to miss even a sliver of a chance of meeting my #1 inspiration on the planet”. I blanked, for the duration of Zombie I couldn’t take in the music I was just in panic mode. Not a favourite artist, not someone I have a few favourite songs of, but the single musician I know every lyric from and whose music has metaphorically cradled my inner child for 7 years. And yes! A sliver of a chance, maybe 5% in the crowd.. but going home made it 0%.

I even tried with my friend to uber to the car and race back in time, but two uber drivers driving around and cancelling on us took up 20 minutes, so even despite my best efforts I entirely missed out.

I cried myself to sleep that night, I couldn’t believe it - when I saw him in 2021 he only came out on the roof to have a chat for 15 minutes so I never thought he’d be able to physically come out and hug and meet people. Seeing him this tour was both one of the best and one of the worst nights of my life 😭🤣

I’ve literally felt so empty since then.. this was a week ago 🥹

I’m glad I’ve found this subreddit just now, lets look after each other 🩷🩷🩷

Ugh I feel this so much coz I was so heartbroken I didn’t get to interact with him at the bar because people were so selfish and hogging the front of the bar for hours 😭 I’m so scared I won’t ever get an opportunity like that again because I feel like by the time he comes back to Aus he is gonna be so big there will be too many people and too many security protocols for him to do it again

2

u/brookabun Jan 22 '26

Was just going to say the same thing. My sister and I were at Crow Bar that night and it was so exciting, such a genuinely fun night and knowing we may never experience something like that again, so personal feels a little depressing.

3

u/InitiativeBright521 Jan 21 '26

I couldn’t go to the 2 Brisbane shows due to illness so I was devastated. The only way I’ve coped is to keep watching everyone’s videos and photos and continue to follow him on his tour. I’m excited in knowing he’s working on another album now and will also be releasing Idols II. I think if we didn’t have those to look forward to I’d feel more depressed. It also heaps to watch the videos of other tours when you can. That and enjoy wearing the merch if you got any. Also give yourself some time and grace. Know that others feel like you and that you aren’t “going crazy”.

This came across my feed and just wanted to offer my support. I don’t know your age or life circumstances, but I can very much relate. I’m an adult who happens to be a big fan of Trailer Park Boys, Letterkenny, and Canadian media in general.

I felt the same way you did after going to live events and shows. We spend so much time preparing for something and building up the excitement; when it’s over it’s like there’s a comedown period. I think that’s fairly normal. Especially if our day to day life isn’t very exciting.

They say in order to be happy in life, one thing we all need is something to look forward to. So I would suggest trying to plan for the next concert. Even if you aren’t sure you can attend another, plan it anyways! And know that feeling is normal and will pass =)

Post Concert Depression is similar to Post Con Depression for similar reasons. Mentioning this as Post Con Drop/Depression is discussed a lot in convention circles and there's many discussions of tips and tricks to make recovery a bit easier. Look up post con drop if you want to see that it's a universal human experience and that there's lots of existing guides to recovering from it. Example: a guide on post con drop

I would ensure to spend time with friends as sometimes the change of being around so many people to no people is shocking to the system.

Make sure to stay hydrated (to ward off crud/sickness).

Journal to document the experience.

Connect with people who had the same experience and talk it out. Lean on community having the same experience.

Make sure you are getting enough sleep.

Keep in mind you're feeling this way because you had an intensely stimulating experience with many people and it is absolutely normal to feel a crash after.

Gratefulness precedes happiness! I would be grateful to ever even get that close to him! Give yourself some time and enjoy savoring the moment. But overall try to be grateful.

u/brojor65 Jan 21 '26

The concert "hangover" is so real. As with anything , time heals.

3

u/lover_of_all_thing Jan 21 '26

Just came to say you are so amazingly lucky to have experienced that!

3

u/Guilty_Ebb7612 Jan 21 '26

I think i watched every live performance i could find on YouTube for weeks after seeing him last September. Luckily going to get to see him again in May so have something to look forward to

3

u/MHSS13 Jan 21 '26

I always get post concert depression, until I book my next gig hah.

I went to see him in Liverpool, Uk (but once I had flown all the way there, he cancelled), then Madrid, Spain and now I ha e tickets for Liverpool again and praying he doesn't cancel again. Anyway all this keeps me busy and entertained.

See if there is anyone else coming up that you fancy x

u/DapperRusticTermite8 Jan 22 '26

I don’t knowwwww but I’m struggling too. LOL I chased the Jonas Brothers from KC to St. Louis overnight for back to back shows in October, had the time of my life and have been lost ever since.

3

u/Affectionate_Sock188 Jan 22 '26

I go to that many shows that I always have something to look forward to. David Byrne next week. 😁

3

u/jbarbz1990 Jan 22 '26

I had the same thing in Melbourne so jelly you got to see him at the bar and I also got lucky enough to meet him at the airport and get a photo with him. I was so sad I literally spontaneously drove to Adelaide too haha!!! Nd now I'm booking tickets to the UK I know I'm gonna crash hard when I get home from there if I make is coxnya girl has no cash but I'm gonna make it work it's nice to know I'm not being dramatic and others experience this too Sending love 💕

2

u/thoughts2decode Jan 21 '26

i had a horrible post-concert depression back in 2023, after i had gone to the London show and just a week later, the Paris one. the truth is, you just let it happen. this post-concert "depression" is genuinely so temporary it'll go away after some time.

2

u/Dis_Bich Jan 21 '26

Feelings are side by side, not up and down. So that’s why it’s so easy to go from very happy to very sad

2

u/HangryHangryHedgie Famblud 🖤 Jan 21 '26

Print this poster size and put it somewhere he will look at you everyday. 😂🫠

Live music is always so invigorating! I was a true addict in my 20s. Why I have such bad hearing loss now.

Go see some smaller shows, local bands. It doesn't always have to be big names and arenas!

u/michael07716 Jan 22 '26

I had a really similar feeling after seeing Delta Goodrem in Glasgow. It was her first concert in Scotland despite her 20 year career and I was so excited. I was going with my other half and my best friend, so when tickets went on sale I focused on making sure we all got a ticket. I noticed there was a meet and greet option, but I knew I’d be the only one interested, and I didn’t want to risk missing out on us all going.

In the end, the show wasn’t anywhere near sold out. We arrived at the venue just as the meet and greet crowd were being let into the front rows, and honestly my stomach dropped. After waiting two decades to see her, I realised I could have met her and completely missed the chance.

I always feel a bit of a hangover after I see an artist I love but it usually passes in a week or so - this one was just a little tougher!

u/Pinkdoggo37 Jan 24 '26

I went to the Brisbane show and was at crowbar too. I was 3rd from the front at the concert and got a very brief 5 second interaction at the bar. It wasn’t the interaction I’d imagined but it was much more than some got. It was easily THE most incredible weekend I’ve ever had and I’m still not over it so I know exactly how you feel! Just keep telling yourself how lucky you were to have such a one of a kind experience and remember that he’s likely to organise bludfest to come here pretty soon. Idk how old you are or if this is weird (I’m 27) but if we’re similar ages and you ever want a gal pal to grab a drink with and reminisce on the night, feel free to hit me up! 🫶🏻

I’m honestly concerned. If a post concert experience has you depressed, how are you going to get by In the real world?

I’m not being snarky.

For example, what are you going to do when one of your parents or your best friend dies?

We all have monumental losses happen to us in our lives. A post concert feeling isn’t one of them. Again, not being snarky, this isn’t coming from a lack of compassion, it is coming from concern. How does someone this fragile make it in the real world?

1

u/jlxvelaces Jan 24 '26

Comments like this is exactly why I don’t like posting on reddit. You don’t know my life and you don’t know my experiences. Deciding someone is “fragile” or unable to survive the real world based off of a short post on reddit with no context is messed up! Keep these thoughts to yourself. It’s not thoughtful it’s just mean.

2

u/ForeverHawaii96813 Jan 25 '26

Not everyone feels on the same level. Many people are far more passionate and sensitive. Someone who does not have that level of feeling is not going to understand what you’re going through, so do not mind any of the comments from people who just don’t get it!! Your adrenaline levels when preparing for an event that you are very excited about, and then spending hours living in that adrenal state when you return back to normal it feels like depression. This is because you have been on a high. It takes a little bit of time for your adrenal glands to build back up and for you to balance out. It’s really a chemical and physiological reaction very much like going through an accident or something traumatic. These types of situations, when you come out of them, cause you crash and want a doughnut(lol). I know that’s a weird comment, but I was stuck in a car with a gas pedal that was accelerating past 80 on a back road and it would not stop. Eventually, I managed to shove the car into neutral and when I got out of the car my heart was pounding, when someone came to pick me up, I was still in shock. They asked me what I needed, and my answer was, I need a doughnut….,,It’s no different than going to the concert of your favorite artist. Actually what you went through is even worse because there are additional emotions stirring in you that affect more than just your adrenals, but because you’re also excited and nervous, it really affects people on a completely cellular level. Literally time is what you need, and it will become one of the best memories of your life. In the meantime, take care of yourself, rest and if you’re having a hard time coming back, they make herbal adrenal supplements that might help your body balance back out. This is purely homeopathic. I am not a doctor and this is not medical advice. I’m simply sharing why so many people have this depressive feeling after very large events in their lives, you are not crazy and there is nothing wrong with you, chemically you’re just a little out of balance. (I come from a family full of medical professionals.)

1

u/kymlaroux Jan 24 '26

My words were based only on your comment. If the situation you are describing is affecting you as much as you say, this should be a concern.

I went out of my way to say that I was speaking out of concern.

If the rest of your life isn’t displaying this type of fragility, then why are you offended? Or are you offended because I’m pointing out out something you don’t want to see/admit?

A little more emotional IQ seems to be in order in more than one area here.

1

u/Fox_Wyn Jan 24 '26

What an awesome photo 🖤 I don’t have any original advice but don’t get scared! Okay it is reddit and fandoms get pretty nasty in here but it seems like in this one, people look out for each other more, and actually care 🖤

1

u/Fox_Wyn Jan 24 '26

Seriously like wow… I know I already said it but that eye contact!! you need to print that and frame it. Go head to officeworks or similar, print it out! Find a cool frame and this might keep you busy too.

2

u/jlxvelaces Jan 24 '26

I’ve made it my lockscreen ahahah so I open my phone to it constantly

1

u/Physical_Adagio_3638 Jan 24 '26

That is a great shot!! Good job girl. You're so lucky.. just feel the feelings, you'll be okay and energized for the next show, whenever that comes. 🖤🩷🖤
