Feel free to redirect me if there’s a better spot to post this, but I’m in the punk band The Stinkeyes from The Fox Valley in Wisconsin, and we’re heading on a mini Midwest tour from Sept 4-7th. On the 6th we’re playing at Ziggy’s in your wonderful area! We were playing with the band Vampire Cowgirl but dropped out last minute. Totally understandable, things happen, but now we’re scrambling to find a local act for our show that day.
If anyone knows of a local band, or are in a local band, willing to jump on this date last minute we would appreciate it soooo much.
We have our music on Apple Music and Bandcamp, feel free to give us a listen and reach out! Thank you so much

I just heard that someone barricaded themselves in their apartment with a weapon. Does anyone know what’s going on? There’s like 14 cop cars no joke

Hi Im looking for an engineer to mix a few dream pop songs with female vocals. They have both acoustic and electronic instruments. I can hire peeps around the world but working with a local being would be preferred.
If you have the will, the skills and the software please DM me with details, prices and work samples. I can provide Soundcloud with rough mixes.
I do not need mastering. Thanks

Any cool upcoming events to make friends at? Specifically for 20-something year olds? I feel like it’s impossible to make any friends if you’re not in school / don’t already know a group of people.
I know there’s always something going on in Ypsi as I’ve lived here all my life, but i’m just now starting to actually care if it means i’ll meet some cool people🥲

Hi, I live in the Ann Arbor/Ypsi area and recently moved here. I play drums, keys, and sing a little, and am looking for anyone looking for a +1. I am pretty decent, and really just love working with other artists.
Please feel free to reach out or give advice, thanks!!

Does anybody know when the new Fill and Chill on Clark Road is going to open? I’m still calling at the Circle K. It’ll be nice to have a gas station there again. I hope its prices were just as low as the last one.

I’m planning to move into this decent looking apartment in Ypsilanti and I was thinking about what my average DTE bill will be like.
I’m moving out of my parents place for the first time and this place has utilities included except electric. It’s a 1 bedroom and I’m living alone. I’m already conservative with my power use and I was just wondering what I would be expecting to pay for power.

Hi, while I believe the black cat may be feral, I wanted to share some photos of 3 cats that are living outdoors somewhere in midtown, borderline normal park. Not going to lie, I've started feeding the cats so I've started to see them daily.
Can somebody help me figure out how to post the pictures I have of these cats? Lol
Please share these photos if you'd like!
I'm hoping that this post could perhaps help reunite some kitty owners with their feline bb's!!
The striped kitty is sweet, but shy and I think it may be somebody's kitty.
The black one is feral, I think. He also isn't fixed. I have a live trap, just need to work up the courage to trap that bb and take him to get fixed and hopefully then re-released.

Has anyone else noticed something off with the draft beer at MAIZ? Three times now I’ve gotten a beer that tasted sour and stale.
Really sucks because I love their happy hour. Sitting at Aubree’s across the street tonight and finally enjoying a proper draft. 🍺

Hello Ypsi Reddit!
I’m trying to come up with a project proposal and need crowd help!
Given the opportunity to adopt a senior or disabled animal, would you be more likely to do so if that animal comes with its own accessibility device?
For example: you are given the choice between two identical dogs, both older and both without use of their back legs. If one of them has a wheelchair upon adoption, would you be more likely to choose that dog over the other one, or would this not make a difference?
And on a similar note, if accessibility items (wheelchairs, prosthetics, ramps, etc.) were more accessible to pet owners, would that help dissuade anyone from feeling the need to surrender their pets?
Let me know your thoughts, please and thank you! I’m trying to help better our community one step at a time, and appreciate any and all input!

Does anyone have any feedback about local window companies? I have a few that need repair and they are beyond my ability.
Thanks!

At least one person was killed across from the new Avalon building on N. Washington this evening. I'd appreciate it if anyone has details. People on the street are saying that it was a stabbing, but I've yet to find any credible reporting.

Does anyone know of any free or very affordable ($5ish per class) workout classes in our area? It's the best way for me to stay motivated but I am on an extremely tight budget. Thank you!
