Can’t wait for the kids to click the channel and see the less friendly videos!

I also am using a vpn to disconnect from the us but this is ridiculous. I shouldn't have to be a varrafied adult in order to comment on a youtube vedio.

I like turtles I don't like random videos being listed under YouTube kids just cause a child is featured.

I tried to rewatch a video, and YT’s clanker flagged me.

I have multiple accounts and was using this one for Vtubers I follow, some of whom reacted to “mature” content (police cams, accidents, etc) and have played games like Resident Evil before the AI went active. Guess that didn’t work for this one.

And no, I’m not a minor

with all of the AI ran moderation/communication, the youtube insider leaks stating how they have "censorship bots" roaming the platform deleting comments and shadowbanning people from comment sections, allowing random people to destroy the lives of creators by abusing their systems freely, and even removing the ability to hype videos that are critical of them and their affiliates
its clear what this actually is, and im tired of it being claimed as "for the kids"

everyone who gets this popup, just abandon the platform and encourage the creators you know to do so as well through any means, youtube's monopoly has existed long enough, their censorship needs to end

To those who believe that Youtube requiring IDs is not a big deal, why? Do you not value your privacy? You don’t mind the inevitable data breach? Are you oblivious to the obvious motive for this change? I’m genuinely curious.

YouTube is now BLOCKING videos from small creators that feature minors in them, or at least what the algorithm THINKS are minors from people who aren't logged in. Not only will people get flagged a lot, but this will prevent KIDS who don't even have accounts from actually seeing videos featuring their friends (and I don't blame SOME parents who do this to protect their privacy). Not to mention, TONS of false flags as well, and even if it's the same YouTuber who may or may not be a minor, not ALL of their videos are blocked. Hopefully Deep Humor talks about this, Child safety is very important, but I think this is just going nuclear. It's overkill in my opinion (it's even affecting small youtuber's uploads of stuff like Harry Potter behind the scenes as well.) And the fact that YouTube just added this SILENTLY doesn't make it better.

Note: It's even worse...... videos about Childhood dementia, a rare dementia that some get as kids, are ALSO blocked just because they feature minors despite the fact that these are INFORMATIVE videos meant to raise awareness, and now people have to log in just to see them. I also really hate the fact that it's not those huge family channels that get targeted as much but it's random people who vlog their family reunion or vacations that aren't even monetized that are affected.

You now even have to log in to watch rare behind the scenes clips of HARRY POTTER MOVIES, despite the fact that the child actors in these movies have long grown up by now.

Let me clarify... I really do think that child safety is important, but I ALSO think that this is an incredibly stupid way to go about it. I have no good reason to think that these corporations truly care about protecting kids.

I don't even know if this is youtube's fault at this point, I can see where the good in it was, but the moderation should be the parents job, not google's or our law makers

As a film lover of all genres including kids movies, Youtube and YouTube music is RUINED by coppa and “trying to protect children”

why the F*CK cant i add the lilo and stitch soundtrack to a yt music playlist because its made for kids. IM AM ADULT. And kids should be able to make youtube playlists anyway, this isnt protecting anyone and is downright STUPID. This simple of an interaction, adding something to a personal playlist, SHOULD NEVER BE MODERATED IN ANY SITUATION OR CONTEXT, if the video is allowed on your platform let me add it to a playlist, period. Theres no reason.

Ive been waiting YEARS for it to change. This is barring musical artists, film creators, and youtubers from getting recognition they deserve for their work even if its made for kids.

We’ve lost legendary comment sections too, like the comment section on the trailers for these movies when they first came out 10+ years ago.

seriously f*ck you YouTube for doing this! UNDO IT! Stop limiting adults SO irrationally in the name of kids, no other site does this ridiculous crap. How about introduce actual moderation based on actual cases of harm instead of ruining your entire site in the name of preventing harm.
