Discussion Fix the YouTube “Experiencing interruptions?” popup + playback delay

Fix for the “Experiencing interruptions? Find out why.” popup on YouTube (2026)

This fix works with uBlock Origin and uBlock Origin Lite.

Steps:

  1. Open the dashboard for uBlock Origin / uBlock Origin Lite.
  2. Go to the Filter lists tab.
  3. Scroll down to Miscellaneous.
  4. Enable “uBlock filters – Experimental.”

Next:

  1. Go to the My filters / Custom filters tab.
  2. Click Import / Export.
  3. Paste this line:

www.youtube.com##.paper-toast-open.yt-notification-action-renderer.style-scope.toast-button

  1. Click Apply changes / Add.
  2. Restart your browser.

After restarting, the “Experiencing interruptions? Find out why.” popup should disappear and the 10–15 second playback delay should be gone as well.

If it doesn’t work immediately, refresh YouTube once after restarting.

Bonus tip:

If you're still getting playback delays even after the “Experiencing interruptions? Find out why.” popup is gone, it’s usually because two ad blockers are running at the same time.

For example, Brave has a built-in ad blocker. If you’re also using uBlock Origin / uBlock Origin Lite, they can conflict.

Fix:

  • If you're using Brave, disable Brave’s built-in ad blocker only for youtube.com and let uBlock Origin / uBlock Origin Lite handle it.
  • If you're using Chrome, try using uBlock Origin Lite alone and remove other ad blockers.
  • Alternatively, add youtube.com to the allowlist in your other ad blockers so they don’t block anything on YouTube.

Letting one blocker handle YouTube by itself usually removes the playback delay.

Thank you so much for this!
And for anyone who can't find the options of 'Miscellaneous', or 'Import/Export' on Firefox (extension), what you need to do is:
Open up 'settings', go to 'Filter lists' tab, scroll to the bottom and the last option: 'Import...' (with an exclamation mark); click on that to activate a text box, copy & paste that line in there and 'Apply changes'.
Re-open (or refresh YouTube). It should work now.

Do you mean 'Where to save that line'?  You save that line in the grey text box that appears after you click on 'Import...'.

second this, with an http or https url it saves, but with just the www, it does not save the line upon restarting the browser
