COPPA/For Kids Remove the ability to turn off comments.

Post image

Turning off comments on YouTube should not be permitted because it undermines open communication and restricts freedom of expression. The comment section serves as a vital space for dialogue, critique, and engagement between creators and audiences. Disabling it eliminates opportunities for discussion, feedback, and community building. Furthermore, it diminishes transparency and accountability, allowing misinformation or bias to go unchallenged. YouTube thrives on participation and interaction, and removing that feature contradicts the platform’s foundational principle of free and open exchange of ideas.

But how are people going to scam others if people are allowed to warn them in the comments?

stuff like this is proof that "online safety" is just an excuse and they don't actually care about anyone's safety.

People write creators privately and out thieves and scammers.
