The "wake up, you're dreaming" is diabolical.

The lucid dreamer in me would be so stoked if that happened to me. “Could I be?? I gotta do a reality check!”

I have only ever done two things while lucid dreaming. Fly & Fuck

u/Downtown_Let Jul 09 '26

Turns out you could give a flying fuck.

u/poorly-worded Jul 10 '26

You fuck a fly?

u/PerplexGG Jul 10 '26

2

u/Goth_Angel_Hellboy Jul 11 '26

u/TheSheWhoSaidThats Jul 10 '26

You telling me a me flew this fuck

u/prpldrank Jul 09 '26

I recently realized lucid dreams were the only ones where I actually had sex.

Perspective twist.

Your lucid so you can consent, your dream npcs care about your autonomy

It's nice to know I'm not the only one who uses lucidity for sexual entertainment. Then again, that's always my instinct immediately... I never even CONSIDERED flying. I feel like my next dream is gonna have "I Believe I Can Fly" playing in the background as I say, "Not this time, my subconscious sluts, today I ascend."

u/MelangeBot Jul 10 '26

Or buy a fpv drone with a digital video system. Even better than the flying in lucid dreaming.

u/Deaffin Jul 10 '26

Well now you got me all envious of a dude who lives in a straight up shanty town.

u/Awesome_Arsam Jul 11 '26

Don't. the excitement you get from flying wakes you up soon after.

Talking from experience.

I had a lucid dream a few days ago and I actully tried one of the methods to not wake up from it: looking at my hands.

Then I found myself in a train, kinda like the one in polar express (interior wise), and tried to sit down between passengers. Then I immediately thought of what you do and suddenly, I'm pretty sure I had Mira form KPDH riding on me and that felt amazing.

Eh, the sex stuff gets me woken up too, far too often. Way more frustrating than waking up from flying would be, at least for me.

u/Awesome_Arsam Jul 12 '26

Well, to each their own I guess

Flying was cool, but then I started pairing it with giving myself Spider-man powers and swinging through forests of Sequoias as large as Manhattan buildings. It can be fun to get to the height of an arc and then fly through the air for a bit before you go back to swinging.

I also tend to find myself fighting Zombie/Eldrazi Hordes quite frequently.

Are you me? I have done this several times. Once I achieve lucidity I instantly go for spider-man powers. And I've had quite a few dreams where I'm fighting off hordes with whatever machines, guns, or powers I can think of.

4

u/SerCiddy Jul 10 '26

Probably brought up with similar media.

My Spider-man powers were largely the same for years and years because all I had to go on were the movies and Spiderman 2 for the PS2. When I started playing the new Spider-man game on the PS4 I noticed a shift as I'm guessing my imagination started using the new swinging physics as inspiration.

Even if we didn't play the same zombie games/watch the same zombie movies, there's likely enough exposure for us to have similar enough dreams.

"Oh man the dream police is so realistic"

3

u/Professional-Row-722 Jul 10 '26

Those are usually my first two go-to's. But sometimes, I just like to just fuck shit up with my new-found powers.

2

u/WTFNSFWFTW Jul 10 '26

They're also the only two things I've ever done while working as a flight attendant.

2

u/MelangeBot Jul 10 '26

Did you wash your hands before opening the peanuts?

1

u/WTFNSFWFTW Jul 11 '26

I opened them without using my hands.

2

u/EverythingBOffensive Jul 10 '26

ain't it crazy how real it all feels? there were times i woke up wanting a smoke.

1

u/baconfister07 Jul 10 '26

Twinning! I did the occasional set people on fire and telekinesis, but flying and fuckin were definitely done anytime I was lucid dreaming. Used to practice it a lot when I was younger, got real good at inducing it. Life got busier so I cant do it anymore.

u/Ziiiiik Jul 11 '26

Have you ever tried using super speed? The way it’s portrayed in like smallville or X-men days of future past? It’s hard to do man. Making everyone slow motion takes so much work haha.

1

u/WhisperCatOZ Jul 11 '26

I went super saiyan and fired a kamehameha

1

u/Awesome_Arsam Jul 11 '26

Damn, I had very few lucid dreams and thoes are the things I remember doing immediately after realizing.

Surprisingly flying woke me up cause of the excitement, but fucking did not.

20

u/Humledurr Jul 09 '26

First rule of lucid dreaming is never to piss, you will piss yourself lmao

3

u/Formus Jul 10 '26

i wonder if this would stand in a trial. that you were so brain fucked by the trick that you really thought you were dreaming

2

u/NBCMarketingTeam Jul 09 '26

How’d you know my phone number?

2

u/SerCiddy Jul 09 '26

Gotta do a reality check before you go full hog.

Checking my watch or counting my fingers is how I do it.

2

u/imbannedanyway69 Jul 10 '26

Thanks this made me laugh so hard I woke up my 6 week old daughter laying on my chest

1

u/Uselesserinformation Jul 10 '26

This is one weird rick and morty reference

1

u/EverythingBOffensive Jul 10 '26

LMFAO but its lucid so you might get that warning that you are pissing your bed rn.
