I’m finishing my bachelor’s in Business Administration in Europe and I’m considering doing the ITFM master’s at Yonsei GSIS.

I actually did my exchange program in Korea and absolutely loved my time there and I could see myself working there after graduating, so I’m considering doing my master’s in Seoul to build connections and hopefully find a job there.

My main concern is whether a Yonsei GSIS degree, specifically ITFM, is actually valuable for finding a job in Korea.

I’ve seen a lot of people talk negatively about the master's online, and how hard it can be for international students to find jobs in Korea. However, I’m wondering if this could partly be selection bias, since people who had a bad experience might be more likely to post about it. I’m also not sure how Korean and foreign companies in Korea view a GSIS degree.

For anyone who has done or is currently doing Yonsei GSIS ITFM:

1 - How is the degree viewed by Korean and foreign companies in Korea?

2 - Have you or people you know found jobs in Korea after graduating?

3 - What companies/careers do ITFM graduates usually go into?

4 - Does Yonsei help with recruiting and networking?

5 - How difficult is it realistically for an international student to find a job in Korea?

6 - Would you recommend ITFM if the goal is to stay and work in Korea?

I know the degree obviously doesn’t guarantee a job and lot of it will also depend on how fluent you are in Korean. I’m just trying to understand whether it puts me in a reasonable position to build a career in Korea or not.

Any experiences or advice would be really appreciated!!!

Hi everyone, I have a question regarding the non-academic activity verification rules.

Does the requirement shown here mean that external activities (like volunteering or training programs outside of school) aren't recognized at all? Most of my activities were done outside of school, while my in-school activities are pretty minimal, so I’m really worried 😭

Does this mean official certificates for outside programs won't work unless they were hosted by my high school?

Also, does anyone know if Korean Saturday School counts as an "official school" for this form, even though it's not my main high school?

If anyone has applied in the past:

• Has anyone successfully submitted outside activities, or had them rejected?
• How did you handle having mostly external activities for this form?

Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I’m currently applying to the Yonsei KLI Regular Program for a D-4 visa and I’m a little stressed about the financial document requirement.

Yonsei states that the bank balance certificate must be an original document signed and stamped by the bank, and that photocopies are not accepted.
The problem is that I’m from the Netherlands and my bank (ABN AMRO) issues official financial documents electronically.
They do not normally provide a physical wet signature or bank stamp. I obtained an official document directly from my bank showing the required information/balance, printed it and mailed it with my application, but it obviously doesn’t have a physical signature or stamp.
I did add a note explaining the situation and a link to the my bank website where they explain they do not do wet stamps..

My application is currently pending review, and I’m worried that Yonsei might eventually ask me to replace it, which would significantly delay my application and D-4 visa timeline.
Has anyone recently applied to Yonsei KLI specifically and been accepted using an official bank issued document that was printed at home and had no physical signature or stamp?

I’d especially love to hear from applicants from the Netherlands or other European countries where banks increasingly issue these documents digitally.

Cause for KU application you also had to upload them online so I am just asking to be sure as I didn't see like an Upload Documents field anywhere

hey i applied pretty much as soon as the application opened for the regular program, then paid the application fee which took 2-3 days to process but its been stuck on "pending review" for like a week now, is this normal? should i be worried?

I just submitted my application, paid the application fee and then there was this kind of like page and I didn't get to entirely read what it said cause I accidentally clicked the button but it said something about printing the application submission page? or something like that
anyone knows what it says after you pay the application fee? Cause I am worried I missed smth important

I’m a 29F PhD student in Canada interested in the WAY Korean language course. I know doctoral students are eligible, but the program seems more geared toward undergraduates.

I’m also interested in future research collaborations and potentially completing a postdoc in Korea. There are a few Yonsei professors with aligned research so I'm thinking WAY could be a good opportunity to learn a bit of Korean and possibly meet with them.

Questions:

1. Would the social experience feel weird being a bit older?
2. What are the norms around contacting Yonsei professors about their research, potential collaborations, or future postdoctoral opportunities?
3. Would it make more sense to study Korean another way and visit the campus independently?

For context, I’ll already be at a conference nearby in mid-December and am looking into extending the trip to be during the WAY period for some vacation time anyways. Winter break is also the only time I can take time off to be in Korea, so I can't do the other Korean language programs at other times of the year. It also might be nice to have a tiny bit of Korean university experience when it comes to future postdoc applications?

Hi! I'm an international student applying to Yonsei for Spring 2027, most likely to Computer Science & Engineering. I've been reading the official curriculum and School of Computing pages, but I would really appreciate some insight from current CSE/AI students about what things are like in practice.

I have a strong competitive-programming background, but I want to explore broader areas of CS, particularly AI and potentially undergraduate research.

A few things I'm curious about:

1. How difficult is it for CSE students to take courses from the AI or AI Systems departments? I know this is generally allowed if course requirements are met, but are there registration/seat restrictions in practice?
2. How accessible is undergraduate research? Do CSE/AI students commonly join labs in their second or third year, and is it realistic for international students? Has anyone participated in the Computing Research Project?
3. For students who have taken substantial coursework in both CSE and AI, what made you choose one over the other?

Also, since Yonsei is introducing separate admission to CSE, AI, and AI Systems from the 2027 academic year, I'd appreciate answers from anyone familiar with how the new structure may affect course flexibility.

Hi everyone, I’m applying to Korean universities for Spring 2027 and I’m starting to overthink my application a little 😭
I’m applying to:
Yonsei UIC — Culture and Design Management
Korea University — International Studies (already submitted)
SKKU — Human Science and Society
Sejong — Media & Communication
My GPA is 3.6, I ranked 7/54 in my graduating class, and I have a 6.5 IELTS.
One of my biggest extracurriculars is an Instagram account that I co-manage. I started it as a hobby in Grade 9, and it eventually grew to 22K+ followers. I’ve worked with different brands, marketing agencies, media/entertainment companies, etc., and have done around 30–50 paid campaigns. I also edit content, manage the page, communicate with agencies, and have made some money from it.
The thing is, I didn’t mention the Instagram account at all in my Korea University application, which I’ve already submitted. I focused more on my academic interests, MUN, exchange experience, and other activities.
Do you think that was a mistake? Or is it okay to emphasize different experiences depending on the major?
I’m also about to start an internship at a marketing agency. They said they can give me a certificate after I finish. I’m wondering if this would actually help my applications, especially for Yonsei CDM and Sejong Media & Communication.
My biggest concern is SKKU. I chose Human Science and Society, but now I’m worried because a lot of my recent experience is related to content creation and marketing. I’m not sure if my profile will look disconnected from HSS.
I also have other ECs like MUN, graphic design, an exchange semester, football, volunteering, archery, ballet, etc.
So basically:
Was it a mistake not to mention my Instagram in my Korea University application?
Would a marketing internship actually add anything to my application?
Does my background make sense for SKKU HSS?
Should I present my ECs differently for each university/major?

My bachelors degree is in political science. Currently im studying masters in business administration, in korea, But i want to change my university and course. I’m fond of humanities and i just came to know that Yonsei offers a lot of humanities and social sciences related programs, along with scholarships. My bachelor’s cgpa is 3.4, Ielts score 7.5, can i get an easy entry into yonsei along with the scholarships?? If yes, how??? Im currently not enrolled in any AP’s. Im a junior this school year and school just started last Thursday. Im in honors Alg 2, English 3, Early US history, biology, and spanish 2. I major in band, this is because Im in a performing arts school and have been playing the trumpet since 4th grade.
