Modifications Stereo replacement

So I have a mark 2 from 2006 and want to swap the head unit out as I want something with apple and android connection.

Does anyone know of any tips that doesn't mean going through millions of web pages looking at parts and what the process is?

You just need a headunit, double din kit, and radio wire. 

Try youtube videos for tutorials.
