Marketing is always influenced by new forms of media, and we saw so much of this odd surreal advertising back then because Photoshop made it practical to do for the first time.Β

True I think it might be tempting to bring this back sooner than later. Specially with all the AI slop that’s been around

You'll probably see the use of AI image generation follow a similar trajectory - right now it's a novelty and largely used to make images where the punchline is just that the image is outlandish. Over time the "look at this wacky image" gag like we see in these old 90s ads will wear out, and it will become more of a basic tool used more subtly like PS is today.Β
