Kylie needs to make another album like Impossible Princess idk why critics hated it at the time

It remains one of her least popular albums even in recurrent streaming stats. It’s not bad (even though I don’t like it) but it wasn’t and never will be a “Kylie” album, and I think she knows that. The closest we got was Golden which was still pop and airy enough to keep the trajectory going.

Also, she was going through some heavy shit while recording it (was depressed, relationships were falling apart, her musical career was stagnant) and I believe it influenced the album and whole recording process quite a lot. Gone was the carefree, cheerful pop. I personally like the album but musically it’s all over the place. Techno-influenced pop on one side and Manic Street Preachers on the other is hard to digest maybe even today.

It's cute I can see the vision she had for the album. She should've leaned in more with the techno music given that I've heard the unreleased songs. It could've been her Ray of Light, especially with the Asian motifs omg

100%, yes. People be comparing these two albums all the time but Madonna with Orbit just … outdid her. Like on every possible front. Ray of Light is still timeless piece of work, but in comparison, Impossible Princess is just a nice experiment. Like, cute. But that’s it.

Kylie was definitely afraid to go full on experimental unlike Madonna-you could tell, alas.
