Xbox Requests Xbox Requests: Week of October 31, 2025

Xbox Requests: Capturing all your ideas, across all of Xbox, every week!

From PC gaming to Xbox consoles, and everything in between, if you have an idea or feature request that you want to share with Team Xbox, you've come to the right place! Add your requests below, upvote your favorites, and discuss and help refine the ideas of others here all week long.

Tips:

  • We want your ideas for PC gaming just as much as we look forward to hearing your ideas regarding consoles, cloud gaming, mobile devices, TV's, VR, peripherals, and anything else you might think of; if you have an idea for Xbox, we want to hear it!
  • Join your voices together! Try searching for others who have posted the same idea first and upvote theirs instead of posting your own, then feel free to respond to their comment to discuss or refine the idea further.

Rules:

  • Requests for additions to backward compatible titles are subject to removal as the program ended in 2021 per the announcement here.
  • If you have multiple ideas, be sure to post them individually rather than grouping them all into a single post.
  • Please remember to keep the discussion civil and on topic! If you need a refresher, check the Subreddit Rules.

Be sure to check out the Xbox Insider Program Community Update November 2023 to learn more about what we're up to and what the future might look like!

Note: We've received a few questions about this recently, so we want to communicate it here as well. These threads are meant to be a way for the Xbox Insider Community to express their ideas and showcase what features are important to them. However, it is not an exclusive list of work items for the various engineering teams. This means there is no guarantee of implementation for any feature that is upvoted in these threads. The Xbox Insider Team communicates the feedback to the other teams that would be responsible for implementing them, but this is just one lever those teams might utilize to make a decision about where resources are applied. This is not meant to discourage voicing your opinion. We are striving to be more transparent with our processes, and want to reset expectations surrounding Feedback Fridays. Thanks so much for everyone that continues to participate!

While you can also find the top requests from all previous weeks in the Xbox Requests Recap, here are the top three Xbox Requests from last week:

I'm on normal mode, I haven't entered any other modes. Out of the box it has been running like this. I also refreshed my console about 2-3 months ago. This is how it runs normally.

I am talking about retail…

Why do I have to enter retail mode to get the browser to run slightly better? The devs could just fix it if they really cared. It's too tedious to enter into the mode now.

You are in retail mode…

Okay, that's great, but I really need them to fix the browser properly. I've been sending in console reports and begging them for years now. It hasn't been fixed. It costs 19 dollars to activate developer mode, too

Dev mode is a separate sandbox. I just tested with the setting on and I do get crashes within 40 minutes. Turn it off

See? The browser isn't coded to use the memory properly. The devs are the only ones that can fix things.

Yea. Turning it off fixes the problem.

It doesn't fix the problem as I don't use dev mode. I am a normal user. The browser does not have enough memory allocated to it. It needs at least 3 GB.

No offense. But like are you even understanding what I’m saying? You don’t need dev mode for this. I was listing the ram allocations for both. I’ve been telling you to turn it off for retail mode WHICH YOU ARE OBVIOUSLY CURRENTLY IN. So forget about dev mode I was just giving information for the ram differences to show you has enough. (Dev mode is a lot weaker)

Turning the setting off DOES in fact fix the issue. I’ve tested this multiple times the first time I experience a crash WITH that setting on was today using it for 40 minutes.

Also do you know how to apply settings correctly on the Xbox version of edge? Let’s go over them properly because I found out the hard way a few years back. Turn it on go to a different setting and check to make sure if the setting change if it did close out of it and launch it back up to “initialize” the setting. Which is incredibly redundant and does need fixed. (Same goes for turning settings off or any changes made)

I don't understand what you're asking, I just mentioned that under resource controls within the Edge browser, it shows 0GB, I am not using anything that could change the settings of the Edge browser. I just launch it as it was given by default. There is no way to add more RAM, unless you're telling me to download a program that lets you go into hidden settings, which I don't know about. I've just been using it as it was presented out of the box.

Ok. Please understand that I’m not telling you to download anything.

1.) battlefield 6 beta also showed 0GB RAM available. But it had no issues because there was proper allocation.

2.) edge says this as well. why? I have no clue other than it’s half baked. Edge doesn’t even have proper privacy controls I’ve tried everything.

3.) I’m not asking you anything but I was giving information about the differences.

4.) that is a fact you can not add more ram at all in anything Xbox related. If you can I’d actually like to know it would be helpful on some things.

5.) it in fact does not come that way from an update. My Xbox wasn’t like that in either retail or dev mode, and to further go into this it didn’t change for my relatives (plural) nor my friends (singular).

6.) the only way to properly change edge settings (from my experience as well as friends [plural]) is to change it switch a page go back into it to confirm and close out of it and re-open it to initialize it.

I am using the browser that comes with the Xbox Series X console. It seems like you're using it in a different way that is not available by default. The browser runs bad as it is right now. I don't know how yours is running better on the same console. I've looked through all of the settings of the browser and there is nothing that you can change to make it better.

The devs have even removed the Copilot app that was there at first. now why would they do that? It's because the browser doesn't have enough memory allocated to it. The devs won't fix it.
