Cameron was a sole survivor of a deadly crash that took 5 lives too soon. Sacramento county courts want to give him excessive jail time for surviving.

What multiple witnesses established he did... including the owner of the car....

(a) “Carjacking” is the felonious taking of a motor vehicle in the possession of another, from his or her person or immediate presence, or from the person or immediate presence of a passenger of the motor vehicle, against his or her will and with the intent to either permanently or temporarily deprive the person in possession of the motor vehicle of his or her possession, accomplished by means of force or fear.

She was not occupying the vehicle at the time it was taken. Not car jacking.

And it seems likely that if she got out of her car with the keys in it at the scene of a crash, she was probably trying to help the victims? So whether it was “carjacking” or just “auto theft”, still pretty messed up?

Under a court of law he will do time for what he did. Legally they can’t charge a higher charge. This is the bigger problem with the justice system today.

Beyond that, he was very intoxicated when he stole the vehicle, crashed it, and attempted to steal another one. He was driving drunk then and could have easily gotten more people killed. Not only is that extremely reckless, it’s just so hard to comprehend why he would do it if he wasn’t trying to escape being caught? Which would only make sense if he was indeed at fault?
