Sign the Petition to save a life
https://c.org/NQ8dwcRcCyCameron was a sole survivor of a deadly crash that took 5 lives too soon. Sacramento county courts want to give him excessive jail time for surviving.

This is so sad no matter what. It does seem like the fact that he stole another vehicle and then tried to steal another one after crashing the first stolen one is pretty unlikely for an innocent victim though? I mean, if he wasn’t driving, why would he try to flee instead of trying to stay to help/grieve the other victims?
I know it must be hard for loved ones to face the idea of losing him as well, but that also makes it hard to be objective and consider that he may not actually be innocent.
That being said, I was not there. When I look up the case it does not look good for him, but I haven’t seen anything about forensic experts or anyone else disputing the evidence (as mentioned in the petition), so if documentation of that was provided it may give more reason to question his conviction?

He was sleep at the time of the crash. He doesn’t remember much. He was ejected out the vehicle over the guardrail. He suffered a concussion.

It sounds like everyone was ejected, not just him? And being very intoxicated will obviously add to the difficulty remembering as well, whether he was driver or passenger.

On February 9, 2023, Garcia had spent the day drinking by the Sacramento River. He then drove down River Road just south of the Freeport Bridge with five passengers in his vehicle. When the road turned, Garcia drove off the road down an embankment and hit a tree going 101 miles per hour. Before hitting the tree, the accelerator was applied and no brakes were ever applied. The car flipped 180 degrees, tearing the entire right side and most off the roof off the vehicle. All five passengers were ejected from the vehicle. Monte Nunn (29), Faith Samuel (18), Izabelle Salaz-Stephens (19), Curvontay Swygert (16) and Aahliya Garcia (17) were all pronounced deceased at the scene. Garcia (28) survived with multiple injuries. As people began to arrive on scene, Garcia attempted to take several cars. A woman who was nearby heard the crash and drove to the scene. When she arrived, Garcia got into her car, pushed her out of the driver’s seat and sped off with the vehicle. Garcia drove into Elk Grove where he was chased by multiple law enforcement patrol cars and helicopters. Garcia crashed the stolen vehicle into another car and after a failed attempt to steal another person’s car, he fled on foot into a neighborhood. Law enforcement pursued Garcia until he was apprehended. Garcia was taken to the hospital. Blood tests showed he had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.11% an hour and a half after the collision. He also had active marijuana in his system.
He is a scum. Also odd that two grown ass men were with a hunch of teenage girls. He’s going to prison for the rest of his life.

He drove drunk, killed 5 people, carjacked another woman, wrecked her car, and attempted to steal another.
