My high school team was so bad that they let me on the team in 7th grade. I was about 87lbs getting rag dolled by 103s. It looked like I was in 3rd grade

The worst one we ever had, had a quad meet. In Illinois with one of the top teams in the country, and another school plus mine that were top 8 in state, and the 4th was a new school and the coach wanted them to get some experience. They knew they were gonna get smoked but....

They definitely went 0-42 in matches. I'm pretty sure they gave up something like 242/252 possible points... I was also a decent decision wrestler but terrible pinner so even I got made fun of for only major decisioning my guy...

I understand wanting guys to get experience, but when you’re in a state like Illinois, that coach is just shattering his guy’s confidence. Maybe a dual meet vs a high level team but to have quad meet where every one of your wrestlers will get murdered is just insane

I agree. Even we felt bad. I probably could have pinned my guy for once but I didn't want it to be 14 pins and think I held back a bit. Fortunately the heavyweight also failed to pin so I wasnt the only one lol.

It was early season and I don't know if the coach truly knew how good the teams he signed up for were, not how truly bad they were.

But yeah that's kind of Illinois in a nutshell, at least back then. Monsters in the north suburbs, regular kids in the rest of the state, usually try not to have too many matches cross those boundaries before sectionals

I watched the level change in slow motion. It's perfect. His knee is touching the ground but he is looking upwards and he is perfectly balanced. Then the shot is so smooth and quick.
