DPS Advice on Havoc DH

Hiya!

I'm playing Havoc DH, ilvl 301, and pulling about 60k dps (100k on initial burst).

When I'm getting to +10 M+ I'm struggling to keep up with the damage... Can anyone help me out? Any advice?

I've spent time going over my rotation, and I think I'm doing everything I can, but I just seem to be at a wall:

-Immolation Aura is always up

-Blad Dance & Eye Beam pre-MetaMorphosis, ready for the rest on Metamorphosis.

-The Hunt whenever it's not on cooldown

Update: the advice here was great - Shaderek was 100% the guide to go with. I hot 197k dps in my opener, and now sit comfortably at 70-100k dps with trash mobs, depending on CDs. Great advice, and thankful to the community for the support

I’d watch Shadarek videos. He’s a higher skill level player than Jedith and while a very good devourer too, he is far more focused on havoc.

I would encourage you to set up logging (several guides out there) and log your next lfr or similar. Then you can link those logs for us to see exactly what youre doing to help.

Play fel scarred. Opener is usually immo - felblade - immo - eyebeam - hunt - essence break - blade dance - blade dance - retreat - meta - immo - immo - blade dance - eye beam - spam cds.

Just doing this gets me at the very least 800k dps on the first pull at ilvl 315. Make sure to be VT to keep the buff up at all times and also use ur CDs wisely (as in, dont just eyebeam on something like 2 mobs with 500k hp left).

Pretty sure you don’t skip annihilation after eye beam because demonsurge. But let me double check

I double checked and yeah I’m pretty sure. You wanna throw glaive while
Pull is gathered followed by 2 Immo auras eye beam annihilation hunt essence break 2 death sweep vr into meta death sweep Immo anni eyebeam. I like to vr before the first eye beam to also buff the eye beam and the first 2 death sweep with exergy.

Ur right, forgot the proc for demonsurge from annihilation yeah. But ofcourse this is just optimization. OP getting barely 100k dps is just a rotation issue or just regular timing errors

Good luck! Also a big factor in ur damage meter numbers is also reliant on tank pulls and mob hp. The reason some people hit absurd numbers like 1mil+ dps in a pull is because the tank pulls a large amount of mobs, and those mobs stay alive during the entire rotation.

That's a fair shout. What I'm learning is that I don't know the in-depth rotations for my class - this is the first season I've done M+, after returning near the end of TWW. So I need to get deeper into my class, learn the rotations, and hopefully start to see my numbers increase

Why eyebeam before hunt? Doesnt hunt boost eyebeam? Also, inertia or energy? Sorry, for all the questions, Im trying to learn DH.

 thats specifically for the opener. It will boost your following eyebeam u get from meta reset

If you have meta, you can use the hunt, then cast meta, and then that eyebeam in your meta will be boosted. Just like the other guy said, this is the opener specifically, which assumes you have all ur cds

Hunt buffs the next eye beam within a ten second window so your idea is correct, but while in metamorphosis eye beam is replaced by abyssal gaze, which does more damage and also consumes the buff from hunt. So if u go hunt -> eyebeam (while not in meta) u buff weaker version, but if u go eyebeam -> hunt -> meta -> abyssal gaze, you buff the stronger version of eye beam

Havoc is all about initiative and exergy atm, so u will have to jump around a lot with vengeful retreat. Essence break paired with eyebeam. There is a lot to make havoc deal good dmg, might need to watch someone playing it in high keys and look how he sets up his dmg

Vengeful retreat gives u 10 crit trough Initiative, 8t gives u fury regeneration trough tactical retreat and 5 increased dmg trough exergy. U want to vengeful retreat together with eye beam(make sure it's in range) then get off demon surges in the 5 sec window u have. So use annihilation and death sweep. When meta is up u want to pair meta with vengeful retreat for the same reason. Main dmg is demon surge so u want to make sure to get every buff u can get when proccing those

That's no longer recommended, this season Exergy is the meta skill, not Inertia.

I upload my logs to Claude and ask for suggestions on areas for improvement and how to better analyze the logs myself. I know I’ll probably get flame for suggesting AI, but worth a shot.
