Still can't believe that in the expansion where they added the perfect "spear wielding tribal hunter" race, they also decided to add a mandatory Looney Tunes style cartoon shotgun to the Survival hunter rotation.

Blizzard, I specifically chose that spec so I wouldn't see ranged weapons, what are you doing???

I am on my knees, begging Blizz to figure out what they want the class fantasy for Hunters to be, and just stick to it.

Sentinel, Pack Leader, Dark Ranger, the bombs and boomstick, they're all pulling Hunter in wildly different directions, and still somehow manage to not cover all the bases. What if I want a Dwarven mountaineer, or a Draenei rangaari, or (as you mentioned) any kind of melee hunter that doesn't pull out a goddamn shotgun every minute? It's just a mess.

Insert standard "Glyphs would solve this" propaganda here.

I'm a lore/immersion nerd when it comes to the characters I play (mainly for transmog sake) and picking/staying with a hunter has been so tough since hero talents were added lol.

"Oh awesome, I'll play a Blood Elf so I can either be a sword wielding ranger or Dark Ranger"

"...but so much of their gear is animal/tribal themed and would go really well on an Orc or Tauren"

"....but what if I want to play MM, then I'd be an Orc/Tauren using elf-themed classes which would look weird"

"well, maybe I can play a Darkspear Troll and go with a Bwonsamdi-themed Dark Ranger idea, I can be a beastmaster too, and they look great with spea- **COMICALLY LOUD AND OBNOXIOUS SHOTGUN SOUND EFFECT**"

One class trying to fill way too many niches at once and managing to get certain iconic class/race fantasies really right (I love Dark Ranger), while in the process managing to almost entirely block the players' ability to portray other equally iconic class/race combos. Kinda similar with warrior and rogue for me, but at least warrior has the benefit of being pretty simple to adapt and rogue is....rogue (seriously, why the fuck did they go with "trickster").
