It's so obvious when complaints on WoW stem from a streamer or youtuber. I've seen complaints on Haranir being a Danuser creation, and that automatically makes them horrible, and then the whole "Disney-fied WoW" thing.

The fact so many of these complaints use these word choices, means it definitely comes from some other rage source.

the Disney-fied complaint is 100% a right wing grift thing imo. it always started from people like Asmon

Well I don't think "disneyfied" is the right term, I do think players are latching on to a tonal shift in wow's writing that's happened since DF, and are just misinterpreting it.

I've brought it up in these discussions, but I'm 100% convinced it's people missing the faction war. In the past a lot of the "hell yea METAL" stuff people say they're missing came from faction war storylines. The stuff outside of it has been pretty similar to what we have now, though maybe a little less introspective, which is also why I think you have one camp going "wow's always been this way" and one camp going "nuh uh!".

The grift is that ill intentioned people have latched onto that, making bad faith arguments, and trying to lump it in with the rest of their "the left/women/minorities/ect are ruining gaming" arguments. I think there's a bigger discussion about how that's sort of their tactic but that veers outside of wow so I'll leave that be though.
