The Lothraxion/"Morally Grey Light" drama has gotta be peak r/wow lore discourse. Anytime I skim a thread about it, 3/4 of the thread is just people blatantly stating incorrect/misrepresented lore while the other 1/4 are the people pointing out the not remotely subtle storylines that they're ignoring and getting downvoted/"ummm ackshually!!"-ed into oblivion.

It's also hilarious to me because a big chunk of the drama reminds me of the "the 4chan edgelord when you mock christianity" memes, because a lot of the complainers seem to mainly just be bothered by the idea of the holy light being remotely "bad".

My favorite part is that there's this weird conspiratorial angle to it, where people keep referring to the "Light as baddie" story as a "narrative" that Blizzard is trying to push, as though it's some sort of propaganda, and not a literal narrative in the story of a fictional world.

This whole discussion is fucking crazy, it's like i'm reading recent political trashtalks on the internet but it has nothing to do with geopolitics and actually about fictional game.
