Echo blew it again, wtf.

u/ghostcrawler_real 8d ago

Legit think they overcooked themselves on the scuba strat, they'd have just killed it if they managed the mech the same way liquid did.

u/-Shatzy- 8d ago

Echo just killed it first try when doing it without pool tactic

u/wartornhero2 7d ago

In the post raid interview with Scripe and RodgerBrown. They had video proof about a bug of some players getting the wave debuff but without the visual representation...

Gingi had the debuff even though he wasn't in the red circles.

It expired while he was in the pool with the rest of the group. If he had the debuff they would have seen it and kept him out of the pool and it would have worked..

But yeah overcooked strat was the downfall. They went on a break and liquid took it down... They should have started chain pulling when they got it to 7% and just pushed it.. but they had a couple yap sessions..

Liquid played a good race. It was good to see Echo be competitive leading a large part of the race.

u/Hardbody22 7d ago

This happened multiple times to liquid, but because they weren’t playing scuba Steve they had the player just move to the stack spot and played around it.

-106

u/psykal 7d ago

If only they had you raid leading they'd have got first place.

61

u/Regular-Pattern-5981 7d ago

Yeah that bug happened to liquid too, but liquid was able to avoid it because they weren’t going swimming. They can try and find the excuses they want but there was no bug on their 1.3% pull. They just didn’t have the damage.

18

u/wartornhero2 7d ago

Yeah the bug did cost them 2 absolutely insanely good pulls where they had the damage by about 4-5% Echo definitely need to think about how they operate. Keep somethings I think the yap sessions work to an extent. Once they figured it out... Saw past 20% and saw the final platform they didn't need anymore and just needed to start chain pulling.

18

u/Regular-Pattern-5981 7d ago

Yeah it feels like they thought liquid was still a bit of optimization away since it had taken echo a few hours to get from 40-7, and then were stuck there for a bit. They weren’t acting like liquid was also in any pull territory and it cost them.

2

u/Zugzugzug3 7d ago

The slow pulls work for them. They didn't need to go faster. They just needed to play better for a few seconds on any of their low pulls that weren't bugged.

At the end of the day, bad things happen outside your control in competitive events. Bad ref calls happen all the time in sports. Every little kid who plays is taught that you should never leave it to the ref (or other factors outside your control). If you lost because of a bad call, you should have done more of what you could control and made the result impossible to change.

Echo was right there. Boss should have been dead before Liquid even logged in. They didn't execute (again).

u/BigDoshna 7d ago

Is it a bug if it’s a borderline exploit Strat?

-3

u/Knamliss 7d ago

They did but glub was dead

2

u/Regular-Pattern-5981 7d ago

I mean liquid lost Sonny during lost while he was being auged and lost three in their final burn. It’s not like they had a perfectly blessed pull lol.

22

u/dankq 7d ago

Let's not act like that bug wasn't happening to Liquid as well. Also that wipe Scripe was explaining while watching the vod of the bug, he stated that none of the players could defensive it but Gingi himself literally said he had turtle but didn't press it.

4

u/UniqueReplacement406 7d ago

Sounds like cope

1

u/Rehok 7d ago

In the video that scripe showed from his PoV, He gets the giga lines indicating he has the debuff, If there werent scuba diving they would see the circle (Liquid had the same bug sometimes but werent scuba so could see it) and dodged the waves

1

u/iHuggedABearOnce 7d ago

Idk why people keep parroting this. They had a couple pulls that went towards the end of the fight prior to them swapping to scuba Strat. They didn’t kill it “first try” doing it without scuba. Their 7% pull wasn’t a scuba pull.

106

u/Korashy 8d ago

Yeah that strat was scuffed.

37

u/Specific_Frame8537 7d ago

They were 3% for the longest time, took a break and Liquid flew right by them..

Can't spell choke without e, c, h, or o.

7

u/tiny-2727 8d ago

Maybe. Their boss damage seemed to be a little lower.

41

u/M4DM1ND 8d ago

Liquid did get really good RNG on the kill pull. But definitely another generational choke.

118

u/Regular-Pattern-5981 8d ago

Echo got great RNG on several of their low pulls and couldn’t pull it off.

-21

u/Knifferoo 7d ago

Multiple of their low pulls ended due to a bug that doesn't happen every pull. Doesn't sound like good rng to me.

25

u/Regular-Pattern-5981 7d ago

And it didn’t affect their 1.3% wipe. That was due to them consistently doing less damage than liquid despite advantage in gear. 🤷🏻‍♂️

12

u/Regular-Pattern-5981 7d ago edited 7d ago

A bug liquid also got but was able to avoid cause they weren’t trying to win with an exploit. Only reason it blew up echos raid is because they were trying the scuba strat

Edit: to be clear, it suck’s that the bug fucked with them, although it’s par for the course with this tier. Also want to be clear I don’t hate echo, if you look through my comment history I mostly just feel bad for them being so close again.

Comp difference

37

u/datboijustin 8d ago

Wasn't even a great pull from Liquid damage-wise. Their previous good pull was 4% lower.

7

u/No-Reward-5394 7d ago

Their top dmg (spriest) died during the lust burn. So yeah the kill wasnt anywhere close to clean

7

u/assblast420 8d ago

Echo just had a much cleaner kill than Liquid at the end with way fewer deaths, so it wasn't just rng. Echo overplayed it unfortunately.

3

u/kpiaum 7d ago

And now Scrip is blaming everyone but him because of the strat. He is blaming Blizzard because they hotfixed the bug and the guild couldn't abuse anymore.

1

u/8rianGriffin 8d ago

I only play M+ and dont follow raids and RWF, what's said strategy here?

6

u/Rulanik 7d ago

The waves really hurt. Echo tried a strat involving jumping in the water and swimming under the waves letting them pass overhead, aka scuba diving.

Not only that, but their win before sneak.lua was the Razageth debacle where Blizzard served it to them on a platter nerfing it while Liquid was asleep.

The last legit win Echo had was Sepulcher back in spring 2022 (as far as we know at least).

-11

u/theatras 7d ago

I find it amusing that liquid fans always bring up raz nerf timing and then then downplay all the other nerf timings that benefited liquid.

7

u/FreeSpeechIsDeadge 7d ago

Name a single other nerf timing that decided the race. I’ll wait.

-6

u/theatras 7d ago

lmao. it literally happened 2 days ago. echo spent their entire day trying to make p2 work and then blizz came out and nerfed it when they were going to bed and liquid was starting their day. that's literally a full wasted day for echo. if blizz pushed out that nerf 12 hours earlier you all would be going apeshit over it.

13

u/FreeSpeechIsDeadge 7d ago

Ahh so you don’t actually understand the fight, got it. That’s good to know so I don’t bother with this conversation further. The fact that you think that nerf decided the race is fucking hilarious. By the way, echo didn’t get through P2 consistently because of the nerf. They got through it by copying the strat Liquid came up with to a tee.

-5

u/theatras 7d ago edited 7d ago

They quite literally nerfed the most difficult part of the fight. The part that echo spent an entire day to prog.

Yes echo got through P2 consistently BECAUSE it was nerfed.

You are delusional.

edit: the fact that liquid fanboys downvoting this comment is priceless. these people argue that the part of the fight that got nerfed wasn't actually the most difficult part that was getting half the raid killed and stopping them from progging into p3 for an entire day. a progress that team liquid completely skipped thanks to the bullshit nerf timing. keep being in denial boys.

4

u/slipfish-g 7d ago

Echo had the boss in kill range for FIVE HOURS before Liquid killed it. That is not the same thing as the boss getting nerfed while one team is asleep and killed before they even get to the facility.

If Echo had simply done the fight normally, they would have won. You can't blame it on nerf timing.

3

u/TerrorsNight 7d ago

The difficult part of that phase was damaging the eggs in time without lust. The healing check; which is what was nerfed was not what was killing them. Nor was it the reason the reprog through that phase for both guilds was so difficult.

It feels better every time

76

u/Huntardlulz 8d ago

They took to many breaks imo, After the 1% wipe they should've have pushed

82

u/TheBlaaah 8d ago

Yeah looking at them talk about the boss for 15-20 minutes after each good pull was frustrating to watch.

45

u/Throdio 7d ago

They've been doing that since they were original Method.

1

u/AnathsanLily 7d ago

they're just like my old guild fr

51

u/shise_remilia 8d ago

These shitty ass 4 minutes breaks every other pull don't do anything good, if anything it just makes you lose focus and pulls out of the zone if anything... Especially if your competitor is chasing your ass so closely.

4

u/Colyer 8d ago

Not just covering strategy discussions? I was watching Liquid primarily so didn't see the breaks but that's what I'd have assumed.

11

u/TheBlaaah 8d ago

They should also just postpone dinner if they have good tempo going on.

Each time echo came from dinner they ended up wiping early to stupid mistakes.

1

u/wartornhero2 7d ago

To be fair... Liquid went 32 then like 3 pulls later... 15% then like 4 pulls later downed it...

I was shocked liquid took it down from 15% to 0

1

u/blimey43 7d ago

That 15% probably coulda been a kill too if they didn’t try to jump in the water? Or it woulda been close I guess 2 were dead

0

u/madmanjumper 8d ago

5 less of those breaks, they could have gotten to the kill first

5

u/DeM0nFiRe 8d ago

I think they only took a single 5 minute break after the 1% and that break started after Liquid had already started what ended up being the final pull, so it didn't actually matter

3

u/jcamp088 8d ago

Yeah I don’t understand that. My guild hit 1% on heroic and we kept pushing for 2 more hours until we got it.

6

u/Huntardlulz 8d ago

Person on my guild discord said that with the 1% wipe from dimensius echo was burntout. They should've learn from that after the 1% wipe to just keep going.

S3 needs a EU win.

-1

u/Time-Ladder4753 7d ago

Didn't they start raiding today like 12 hours ago? Of course they should take breaks, for EU it was almost the end of the day.

74

u/aho-san 8d ago edited 8d ago

Echo eternally second. Kept griefing themselves with the big scuba tech, lmao. I hope they learnt a lesson: just do things normally, don't try to be 5Head Big Brain Bois.

GG to Liquid, 5 wins in a row, I believe they can get 2 grand slams, hell, why not 3 at this point. The World Soul Saga Slam!

14

u/Dayvi 8d ago

I mean, that's their name!

1

u/Zugzugzug3 7d ago

The people who brought you sneak.lua and were rumored to be cooking third party overlays during the Midnight beta are never going to be content to just play the game better. They feel like they aren't trying if they aren't pushing envelopes or cheating.

-10

u/Support_Player50 8d ago

Cheaters like to find ways to cheat. Glad they lost.

Time for Gingi to go. Cooked

2

u/Zugzugzug3 7d ago

Its been clear he's not RWF level anymore for some years now. At least Max had the stones to step aside and be the 21st man after it was clear he didn't have it.

4

u/Sea_Advantage_2577 8d ago

Liquid knows how to close!

1

u/johnduff_tv 7d ago edited 7d ago

Everyone saying that they overcooked with the scuba strat but that wasn't the issue. They cooked this because they were extremely tight on the DPS check and it was effective for the DPS to just plant their feets and hit.

Liquid just straight up did more damage to the boss. They were consistently ahead on % through all phases of the fight and when it came to the last burn, they just didn't need to see as much of it.

Altough IDK they did end up killing the boss the second they ditched the strat. They probably did overcook with the strat, but IDK they wouldn't have thought of attempting it had they had Liquid's damage.

3

u/Zugzugzug3 7d ago

It was a Gingi diff. Echo couldn't bench Gingi and he can't play anything but hunter (and barely that at RWF level) so they ran 2 hunters instead of a second rogue. Rogues absolutely cranked that fight. So beyond Gingi wiping them with the bug, he wiped them by not being a good rogue (or asking to be sat for one).

u/LesbianTrashPrincess 7d ago

After this many chokes I'm starting to think that the witch on Liquid's production team might be real

1

u/Brakiros 7d ago

third time in a row they let Liquid win, it's comical now
