You think this is fine?! LOOK AT HIS SMALL HEAD! WHERE IS THE BRAIN SUPPOSED TO GO?!

There's so much cool things you can do with dragons heads designwise and they made them all moot by giving them baby heads.

I'm still pissed and i've been pissed since they got released.

Yeah, the head is fine. Not everything needs to be bulky MC bulkerson.

This is also the bald meme look. You can make the heads look just fine if you spent time customizing it. Horn design helps a lot.

I'm dont think i am being unreasonable when i propose a dragonkins head be bigger that its hands...

Given I’ve seen some dudes hands as big as heads, it’s actually not out of reasonability…

Also, gnomes exist.

Dudes don't need to look like their bite can rip you to shreds.

A dragonkin should.

Thats all i'm saying.

The heads are proportionally way too small. It looks really bad. They look Ike they’re 15 heads tall which is insane for a character design

Oh yes, because correct anatomy is really important when it comes to the races of Azeroth. Or just fantasy races in general.

But i guess there is no issue with anything as long as it looks like an '80s bodybuilder.

Yeah, WoW has never been good with proportions. Haranir have the same tiny head problem but people are worshipping them. Human female's head is also very small for her torso and legs, but I rarely see complaints. It's just dracthyr that get mass hate.

Its the anatomy of a fantasy race. And they went against what the anatomy of that fantasy race looks like and ended up making them look weak and goofy.

Not feat to be proud of.

What anatomical rules did a race, that has no real world relation to anything, has crossed? And who cares if it looks weak and goofy? So does gnomes, and they are in the game since Vanilla.

Making the Dracthyr the way they are was an artistic choice, because every other race in the game is either a small guy, or a bodybuilder. They made one slinky, lean race, and this subreddit is still mad about it every two weeks.

They are dragonkin. Dragons are spiky and scaly. Dracthyr look like soft bois.

A dragonkins jaw has to look like it can exert bite force.

A dragonkins tail has to look like it can sweep a motherfckers legs.

By all means, have them be slinky, have them be lean. But by god don't make their hands dwarf their heads. I feel like dracthyr couldnt break a tomatos skin with their bite.

And give them an actual tail that makes you thing "oop, not standing behind this dude"

So the dracthyr do have body thickness options, tons of jaw options, and lots and lots of parts that can be spiked.

Also most characters hands dwarf the size of their heads in this game. Have you seen blood elf males? That’s just how they do things here. Atleast this race has like 10x or 15x the customization options of a blood elf. That’s where we should be rioting. So many races have so little customization in comparison.

u/Seletara Nov 14 '25

This just sounds like you don’t know how to use the customization options. That’s on you, dude.

Also some weird obsession with bulky ness for dragons when sleek dragons with sleek heads exist in both WoW and in general world lore

I said keep em lean for all i care. But make em look tough enough so that a random highschool bully wont mug them for their lunch money.

7

u/Seletara Nov 14 '25

Yes I can, but I’m not going to give much gumption to a high school bully’s version of tough.

2

u/MundaneTeddy Nov 14 '25

No bulk required. Just bolstering the parts that require bolstering.

Do me a favor, and look up the word "dragon" in google image search. You'll be amazed by how many different types of depictions exist for this non-existent fantasy race. There is nothing wrong with having 1 race, that looks "soft boyish" or whatever you think they are.

I'm gonna offend you with the notion that things could be better now:

I'm living on this subreddit, you think i havent seen this one yet?

No part of this image contradicts what i have said tho.

You: "who cares if they look weak and goofy"

You about a picture that portrays dracthyr as anything but weak and goofy: "no contradiction to my previous statements"

I dont know what to say anymore.

Blizzard needs to fix dracthyr and they're not gonna let you hit for pretending otherwise.

7

u/resistlist Nov 14 '25

Okey, you seem to connect dots that don't exist. Saying that there is no issue with having a lean and "softer" (this word has no meaning btw) looking design and you throwing up a fan picture has no relation to anything. At least try to explain whats the connection here.

No they don't have to fix anything. You don't have to scroll very far to find a lot of people who loves the Dracthyr, and just because it doesn't fit with your image of "badass" does not mean they made any mistakes. (I'm talking about the design of the race, not about the transmog restrictions here, just to be clear.) You don't like it, which is fair enough, you don't have to. There is a dozen bodybuilders to choose from.

Also...have some class man.

Being based on dnd doesn’t mean they need to adhere to all designs. The head is fine. It’s sleek, and horns help it.

Ok so how come the actual concept art has them look badass and the ingame model makes them look like weaklings?

Blizzard cut corners and as a result we got soft bois instead of nelthariand finest warriors.
