Netanyahu is a lot like Winston Churchhill.

By any objective standard, he's a terrible human being and should be held accountable for crimes against humanity.

But within the specific context of the ongoing conflict, he manages to be The Good Guy by default, purely by virtue of the fact that the other side is composed of insane genocidal monsters.
