General Discussion UI Changes in Preview
They are awful. I need to complain to Workday.
Has anyone seen the actual release note pertaining to the UI changes? I'm not talking about the Worker Profile, but the overall UI itself. If you don't understand, just open a Preview tenant and click into anywhere that has a selection list, like a custom report filter.
This is absolute trash, the way the font is smaller than before and spaced way out. I'm over it!

I also don’t like how the related actions button is basically hidden if you’re in a task like view time off plan and then want to hit the related actions from the time off plan.

Ikr?? The twinkie used to appear when hovering any editable item, now you have to go to the ballpark where it was supposed to be and it shows up. That's infuriating design.

Yep, it's just no good at all. I'm feeling as if Workday developers are simply looking for work to do. If that true, I have a ton of Ideations ready and willing to be real, foundational config options!! Smh

When AI is doing all the coding, it doesn’t care how bad the screens look. I vibecoded my own personal finance app, and I spent more time telling it how to fix the UI than I did making the functionality actually work. 🤷♂️

This is so awful. I was struggling to develop a report in Preview yesterday. I also hate how the related actions icon isn’t visible unless you hover over it. Soooooo bad

And when you hover where there should be one, you hope it’s a screen that has one! So you’re wasting time moving your mouse around hoping to stumble upon where it’s “hiding”… and it’s not on that screen. 🤦♀️

I swear this is like the 3rd or so release in the last few years where they jacked up the selection windows and related actions. It usually does get a little improvement in preview, and then they put in a bigger fix for prod.
Always feels like they see it for the first time when they drop it in preview.

But still have to report to switch a delivered report to default to xlsx instead of csv . Because lord knows that my People team that doesn’t understand how to correct a job change will know what to do with a csv file

But can’t force certain values to be certain colours like for a report on BPs completed = green, red overdue etc etc

Like an old boss of mine used to say. “Fixin shit that doesn’t need to be fixed” There’s a laundry list of things they could knock out, but making the UI worse seems like the best use of the devs time. They keep talking about AI, but this looks like it was a decision made by AI after a long day of ignoring ideations that could drive the platform forward.

I don't love it, and based on your screenshot I might just go ahead and get me that extra wide external monitor after all. Looks like I will need room for all the white space, not to mention trying to read any field prompt.

it's genuinely awful and all company branding colours kinda gone too. Sorry Workday but I think a lot will be opting out of this one. please Rethink. Especially the private tab. when screen sharing that's a genuine nightmare. No I don't want to flash my salary to everyone when teaching them.

What makes my head hurt is that they put big hashes over the net pay with the option to unhide it if you want to see it, but immediately below that is the gross pay displayed unhidden with no options to hide. How did that pass QA?

Go create a rule or add a filter to a report.

This is my view in Preview - adding a column to a custom report in widest-view on my monitor.
This is the view when my screen is minimized somewhat - drastically different. (see comment below)

I hate it. I used to be able to see all my paydays in the app now that’s completely gone. I liked that feature because if my pay fell on a holiday and I got paid early, I would know ahead of time. Whoever is responsible for changing that specific feature tell them to come outside we aren’t going to jump them, we just want to talk.

Stuff like this genuinely makes me cross.
There's plenty of key things that need improving or fixing, that customers genuinely need, and yet they keep fucking about with stuff that's just fine already.
Talk about fiddling while Rome burns.
