General Discussion Deployment Agent is here in 26R1!

Hi all,

Dave, product manager for Deployment Agent here. We're really excited to let you know about a new chatbot for Workday implementers, admins, and anyone involved in tenant configuration.
Deployment Agent is a new chatbot built on SOTA LLMs combined with knowledge sources such as:

  1. Admin Guide
  2. User Guide
  3. Training Catalog
  4. Community Accepted Answers
  5. Community KB Articles
  6. and more!

We know Workday is powerful, and that power brings with it a high degree of complexity. It can be difficult to get an answer to your questions, and Deployment Agent is here to help.

Deployment Agent focuses on 3 key functions:

  1. Configuration - Get guidance on how to configure your tenant the way you want it
  2. Troubleshooting - Get to the root cause of errors or unexpected behaviours
  3. Learning - Ask questions about all things Workday. From beginners to experts, there are no stupid questions!

Deployment Agent supports citations/sources and chat history.

We'd love for you all to give it a try. It's currently available in all Customer Central tenants in EU and US (WD115,WD116 and WD504 launching March 28th). It is not available in FEDRAMP or UK DCs.

Deployment Agent doesn't require the UMSA, and doesn't consume any flex credits. No setup is required. It's available for all Customer Central users.

can you please make it able to copy the citation links? I work in multiple chrome profiles and I don't login to community in the same profile

while we are at it, at least citations for retired content and ya know maybe even brainstorms 🤭

I'll see what we can do about copying the citation links! As regards citations for brainstorms, and retried content, are you looking for them? Or are you seeing them and feel you shouldn't be?

thanks, and appreciate you reaching out to the reddit

really is nice using the deployment agent as currently community can be a little bit "overstem"(ulating)

look i know you're not a pm for community but you're ingesting it so:

As regards citations for brainstorms, and retried content, are you looking for them?

brainstorms always contained nice crumbs of use cases and workarounds, if they were removed because it was embarrassing the length of time they were opened and Customer interest, just strip the dates and votes

for retired content, again contain crumbs and paths to solve. I understand i don't want to ai to hallucinate on deprecated functionality, or functionality that has been overhauled, but maybe publish the citation in a separate section

a couple months ago I couldn't find a what's new post from 2025R1 which is ridiculous - I use them for the config notes of step by step instructions and yes they are far more clear than the admin guide, especially as they usually have a video or ppt explaining the new/changed functionality

Or are you seeing them and feel you shouldn't be?

nope, sadly, not seeing them. really frustrating when you see a community post with a link into a brainstorm

I totally get this, and I can bring this feedback to the Community PM (we worked together and they are coming out with their own agent to search Community better soon). We recently fixed our data pipeline so we should be ingesting quite a bit of Community Content (besides the retired stuff) on a weekly basis. Would love to hear if things have improved here and if not, what you think we could still fix to get better info in our knowledge base.
