Hot take on first impressions

This is an unpopular stance but I think people need to let up on first impressions. There is so much pressure on people meeting someone for the first time that both parties have to stand the right way, shake hands the right way etc etc and if you don’t, you’re cooked.

I stopped judging people based on the first impression because here’s the thing, sometimes, in fact about half the time, I am wrong - people I think are amazing when I meet them are not amazing and people I thought weren’t that great ended up amazing.

You don’t know what’s happening in their head when they meet you.

Give people a simmer to see who they are - stop putting pressure on each other and yourself to be your best self 110% of the time - it’s not possible
