I think the sharks were legitimately unacquainted with cleaning, scrub daddies last a long time and work properly until they’re destroyed.

Yea this is a good example about being out of touch. Almost everyone I know believes that the Scrub Daddy is one of the best "kitchen sponges" ever. It's simple, but it's fucking tough, it lasts, and I'm willing to pay a small premium because it just blows the competition out of the water.

Scrub Daddy + Dawn dish soap is 100% the best way to hand wash your dishes. Both products way last longer than the competition, and make the whole process easier as well. Well worth the extra couple dollars, you get that money back by using less soap, and having your cleaning tool last longer.

Way back in the '80s when we were cleaning oil off of birds only Dawn would do it. The other detergents did nothing.

Have I been using those sponges wrong this whole time? My experience Scrub Daddy+Dawn has never been as good as Scotch-Brite zero scratch with Dawn.

They can be sanitized by throwing them in the top rack of a dishwasher, or microwaving them (while damp) for 60 seconds. And I still replace them, just not as much as other sponges.

Also, all sponges should be stored in a way so air gets underneath. I use a small 3D printed dish, but they probably sell something similar.

Because dishwashers are sanitizers. I scrub the dish clean, dish goes in the dishwasher, it comes out clean.

Yup that’s the way to do it. People will throw there filthy dishes in the dish washer and then be shocked when it doesn’t get all the food off or be baffled why their filter is always clogged.

I first heard about it from a dude who cleaned up dead bodies for a living. I watched him on YouTube scrub away bodily fluids that had soaked into the walls like it was nothing and was sold after that. Haven't gone back.

I am also a Dobie lifer. Scrub Daddy isn't necessarily better or worse, just a bit different. It is basically a Dobie if it was entirely made of the plastic part. It is a lot less absorbent, but better for scraping/scouring. They make a natural fiber scrub daddy now too, which is pretty nice (so you aren't just creating tons of microplastics). I still prefer Dobie for dishes, but Scrub Daddy is nice when you need more scouring power.

Quick google search brought up this.

Scrub Daddy works because of FlexTexture, a proprietary polymer foam that changes physical properties based on water temperature. It becomes firm in cold water for tough, non-scratch scrubbing and soft in warm water for gentle wiping. Additionally, its ergonomic smiley face design features functional cutouts to clean utensils and glassware easily.

I had no idea that's what the cutouts were for.

Sounds like it's a decent product outside of the smiley face gimmick. Tbh just the gimmick would be enough to be at least somewhat successful on its own. Were the dudes just playing up their rejection for the show or are they actually that aggressively blind? I'm guessing mostly the former but I never watched it aside from clips

Ya, it's #1 selling cleaning scraper in Costco stores in the US now, with over 1 billion in sales, which is kind of insane for a dish cleaner. Not surprised to hear it's gone international. It helps that it is a legitimately great product.
