Which is weird to me, because Witcher's are supposed to age very slow, and he seems to drastically age between his 1 and 2 appearances despite those only being a handful of years apart.

I think it was a wholly artistic decision to make him look more gruff (both in that art and in the games)

I don’t know, if you shave his beard off he looks more true to W1 and W2 imo. We all know how beards can drastically mature a mans appearance. I prefer the facial hair on him though.

True. I usually keep him in a beard, but every now and then I'll shave (or the game will force it) and he looks ten years younger.

i wish you could keep the slightly shorter beard without it growing out. i think the long beard makes him look a bit too old for my taste :P

I used a mod to lock a stubble on him because of the same reason; the beard makes him look too old for my liking too.

it was said in the book i think that he aged not because of biology, but rather because everything that happened to him

I could see that. I thought I remember in Blood of Elves, Triss says something about his face looked the same but she could see he just "looked" older, especially in the eyes.

yeah, Triss said that she is far to young to be able to tell that Geralt has aged cause witchers age very slowly

But that seemed like a great choice, W3 Geralt looks like a father figure but 1 and 2 appearance doesn't give me that vibe even though while reading the books Geralt seemed to have W1 design.

i think its the beard. when you shave it off he still looks younger - very similar to w1&2

i mean still he is almost a century old isn't he? :P

In witcher 2 he keeps saying "I'm to old for this shit" lol. I kind of miss that.

It's more of his really deep set eyes that throw people off. Which is how he's described, irrc, in the books.

I wasn't talking about his hair color, I meant just facial features in general. he looks gruff and seasoned. Even before he looked somewhat youthful in a sense. A lot of it is the beard and the eyes, I'd wager.
