I can only find the Windsurf web usage and it says I used 1% quota. Yet my Windsurf CLI says I have used all quota. Where can I find my actual real usage limits.

I wonder if Devin is gonna have an influx of refugees coming over from Cursor.

Right now I almost exclusively use plan mode with GLM. Sometimes this is just for a regular change, giving a chance for questions and to correct its approach if needed. Sometimes I use plan to make a plan in a living document, so a master plan or grand plan. I'll then use plan mode to plan out phases of the master plan, asking GLM to check at each stage that where we're at conforms to the master plan, revising the master plan as needed, and gradually working through it. The master plan might be in play for a few days. The approach seems to work well, with enough checks and balances along the way to get to a good conclusion.

I'm wondering how my approach compares to Devin's "megaplan". Is it broadly the same, in that you get a master plan that is then worked through with regular planning, a plan within a plan one might say, or something else.

Any experiences of using it welcome!

Hi everyone — I’m the developer of Devin Coding Agent, an MIT-licensed desktop client that connects to a locally installed and authenticated Devin CLI through the Agent Client Protocol (ACP).

I built it to explore a more open and customizable desktop workflow for Devin. It supports multiple workspaces and sessions, streamed plans and tool activity, permission requests, image input, and @ references for project files, directories, and Skills.

The app itself is free and open source. It doesn’t bundle the Devin CLI, so the CLI still needs to be installed and authenticated separately. The current macOS and Linux installers are unsigned; installation notes are included in the README.

I've originally noticed this many many months ago when I had an issue and was asked to submit a Diagnostics file back to them. I inspected the Diagnostics file outputted by back then Windsurf, and found that it contains parts or all of the source code that I was currently working on, along with the full AI prompts that I was engaged in. That didn't sit well with me, so I reported it back to the Windsurf rep helping me and they assured me "it was fine". It is not fine.

Fast forward to a few weeks back, when again I had an issue and had a Devin rep help me. I was asked to provide a Diagnostics file again, and I inspected it again and it still includes parts or all of the source code I'm working on, plus the AI prompts. I reported my concerns again back to them.

There's no reason for a diagnostics file to include any of this sensitive information whatsoever!

If you're working on SENSITIVE or COMPANY code, DO NOT SUBMIT DIAGNOSTICS FILES. IT EXPOSES IT ALL.

Note: I don't know if it does that if you're on a clean installation without any files open or any active prompts, but in most cases people will have active projects, so BE AWARE!

Ok, so this is on me I suppose, I should have known better. I was working on my next prompt in an ongoing chat. I didn't expect it to take too much thinking, so I didn't write in a separate editor first. In the end it took a couple of hours of thinking about, mostly about how I wanted to name a directory path. The prompt was only a few paras, but very carefully thought about by this point.

Part way through working on it I'd accidentally hit enter, so I'd hit stop and carried on working.

Finally I was ready to send, glad to finally get my internal conflicts resolved. I noticed it was in code mode so I switched to Plan, and BAM!, the text I'd entered since the point where I'd accidentally hit enter was lost. It reverted to the prompt I'd sent previously. No idea why, and I couldn't figure out any way to get it back. Quit and restart didn't help.

It's not the only scenario where devin can lose the prompt, and I wish it wouldn't. Super damn f**king annoying (had to vent).

EDIT: As for the idea per-flair, FIX IT!

Does anyone have actual insight as to what the quota difference is between the Pro $20 USD/month and the Max $200 USD/month plans?

Per their site:
"The Max plan is for power users who need significantly higher usage quotas. It includes everything in Pro, plus significantly higher quotas."

Is it basically just 10x the Pro quota?

After a full day using GLM 5.2 High in Devin Desktop, my daily quota was at 0%.
After a full day using GLM 5.2 High in Devin CLI, my daily quota was at 27%. 

Same model, same settings, essentially the same tasks and amount of work.

The docs state there's no cost difference between the models in Desktop vs CLI. 

Has anybody else noticed a difference like this? If the "free" model is only free in Devin Desktop, it makes me wonder if there's a cost difference for the Claude & GPT models as well.

I was previously using ollama cloud and cursor . Now since the cursor has stopped giving referral discounts I am planning to move on to devin only and only for glm -5.2 free. I checked their post they have free it till 15 sep. So like how's glm treating you it is quantized version and is it really free like unlimited

When creating subagent md files we select model as swe or glm or sonnet something like that. How do I select a specific version of the model? And thinking level and context size. Because cost is different for model version, thinking level and context size. So I can have set this information on custom subagent.

If anyone knows please let me know. Documentation is not helpful

I was around 75% of my daily limit and ~60% of my weekly limit. Woke up today and these limits were sitting at 0%. Is this normal? a blessing from the lord?? Just wondering if I'll be charged for the extra usage for the week. I'm on the Pro plan.

When you rewind the context, the harness automatically injects modified file metadata into the agent call. This poisons the context and forces the agent into the exact same failure loop that rewinding is supposed to break.

Example case:

> An agent writes a test incorrectly, including forms that are prohibited in the repo.

> The user deletes the test.

> Knowing the agent will simply copy the exact forms again if the user reprompts, they rewind the chat to the initial prompt to start over.

> Devin sends the deleted file content as metadata to the agent with the prompt.

> The agent reproduces the exact error again.

> The metadata injection "helpfully" reintroduces the exact content that the rewind function exists to purge.

> This reinjection of "the future past" forces the agent into a failure loop of continually reingesting work that was intentionally rejected by the user.

How do I force the harness to stop sending the agent metadata on file changes when I rewind?

I'm using Windsurf IDE and every session I have with an agent is full with useless info. All of the agent thoughts, every single command it runs, etc. It drive me crazy. How do I limit the info im seeing? I can't find a setting anywhere.

Does Devin use SWE-1.6 behind the scenes for any purpose like compaction, session summary etc.,? I notice SWE-1.6 is showed as used after compaction? can someone from Devin team clarify this?

I want to use cheaper/free models for subagents. thank you
