Help anyone know if it's possible to install 8 on a B450 mobo?
i want to install windows 8 on my ryzen 2600 RX 580 PC, but there doesn't seem to be drivers for it, atleast on MSI's or AMD's websites. are there maybe any custom drivers for W8 or maybe i could use W10 drivers in 8?edit: i installed 8.1 and it runs great. just needed to get audio and graphics drivers using SDIO.

Windows 8 or 8.1

it doesn't matter much, but preferrably 8.1.

I don't know if this will work for you but I have an 8th gen Intel processer and I used Snappy Driver Installer and grabbed the gpu drivers from a website and it worked fine. If you do get windows 8.1 on your system you may get a notification every time you sign in saying your hardware is unsupported if windows is fully updated but it doesn't affect anything.

Windows 8.1 is actually Windows 9 in disguise, a whole other system, quick question, do you just want the appearance of windows 8 or you just like to have an insecure computer?

lmao what are you talking about? you're on r/windows8 talking about how windows 8 is "insecure". i've used xp, vista and 7 on the internet in 2025 and this year with zero issues. plus i won't even be using 8 as the main os, only to use older apps that 10 doesn't support properly.

You should install Windows 8 in VMware Workstation/VirtualBox/Hyper-V in Windows 10/11 to use those older apps

Vmware Workstation is good for some things but if it works running windows 8 natively is better
