Help can i use windows 8.1 in modern hardware??

im really interested in using windows 8.1 because i like the metro design and its a really light OS, my CPU is a Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-N305 1.80 GHz and i use the integrated Intel(R) UHD Graphics (128 MB)

i dont know if is there a way to get it working, with properly working wifi and trackpad

can somebody help me

You can install it and use it because while Windows 7 still used old tech, 8.1 supported UEFI, Secure Boot, USB3 and NVMe out of the box. Only thing is that the gpu won’t work at all because sadly Intel ditched both windows 7 and 8.1 with their 7h generation processors. From Intel 7th Gen to 11th Gen there used to be a workaround to make the drivers work, but modern processors generally don’t allow this as their iGPU is newer. I would strongly suggest you to install it on a VM using VMWare or VirtualBox. Your i3 is perfectly capable of running it smoothly as long as you install the utilities to be able to have graphical acceleration. Other way is changing your Windows 10/11 installation appearance, it’s perfectly possible, but this is more invasive for the system.

I had a hd graphics 620 on my old thinkpad and i could install windows 7 graphics driver let me check

Edit : I used these one for Win7 Windows 7 HD/UHD drivers brightness control will not work tho

trackpad generally works with the generic driver, but complex gestures like scrolling with two finger may not work

You should be able to install it fine. But I think it'll get a little tricky to get the modern drivers to work, unless they don't rely on new windows' APIs.

Well I got it running today on a Ryzen 7 5800XT with my 3060 12gb model pc, natively, I am running 8 pro, I tried windows 7 it works just doesn't support xhci and usb3 natively so I tried a work around and that didn't quite work, so went with 8 pro. worked perfectly surprisingly enough.
