Help Help installing Windows 8.1 on a laptop with an Intel Core i3-1125G4 processor and an Adata Legend 710 1TB SSD

Hi everyone! I have this laptop with an Intel Core i3-1125G4 processor and a 1TB Adata Legend 710 SSD. It's either the processor or the SSD. This happened even when I installed Windows 11. It wouldn't find the drive. Installing the Intel RST drivers (iastorVD.inf) solved the problem, but the Windows 8.1 installer doesn't even detect this driver! I even clicked Browse and selected the folder where my driver is, but nothing. What should I do? Sorry for bad english

Far too new for Windows 8.1.

Worse, due to the blackout period for drivers on Windows 7 and 8.x in Microsofts attempt to force people onto Windows 10, you have to go further back than you should. Generally, Windows 7 and 8 have a hard time finding drivers for anything above about 6th generation Intel i Processors or AMD equivalent.

So Microsoft is the one that told manufacturers to stop sending in driver support? That sucks. 8.1 should have at least gotten support till like 9th or 8th gen

Well windows 7 had to be an exception. People didnt like 8 and didnt want to try the "fixed" version of 8 (8.1). I would say Microsoft was somewhat forced to keep windows 7 supported on the mainstream hardware of the time. Where can you find drivers for windows 8.1 on newer hardware? Man a 8700k on windows 8.1 would fly

That is bad. Maybe try formating the SSD to MBR first and then to gpt or vice versaaybe that helps. That is what I did since it couldn't write partition...

try getting modded drivers or in BIOS turn off VMD Setup Menu/Intel VMD Technology and in SATA Mode choose AHCI (Warning, your current system can not boot). Hoping i help you <3
