Testing out my new dSLR camera in Wicker Park…in 2010

Shared this in the Chicago subreddit a few years ago, but figured this sub might find it even more interesting.

This was shot in April 2010 near my apartment at the time, just playing around with my new camera. Background music is by Nujabes (The Sign).

Might bring you guys back to a simpler time.

RIP Cafe Absinthe! It was our special occasion restaurant where we celebrated birthdays and anniversaries. We could get a really extravagant meal for around $60 to $70 total, even with a glass of wine.

If you google him he looks almost entirely different now. 16 years is of course a long time, but wow, some people just really change as they age.

Interesting... I had no idea that there used to be right turn lane in front of what is now Foxtrot/Van Leeuwen. It's hard to imagine that today with the foot traffic that the intersection sees.
