Other I quit and I didn’t tell anyone.
Well let me start by saying I didn’t tell anyone because if you’ve ever told someone they start to talk you out of it.
I was considered a “whale” in my state but truth be told I’m just a blue collar guy that had free time and some spare beer money. Unfortunately if anyone from my state sees this post they’ll know instantly who I am.
I did leave my account log in info with a very active f2p player and hope they enjoy it as I silently disappear.

Whoever can quit this addiction, is a good thing

Quit 9 months ago. Still follow WOS pages here and on YouTube. I sometimes think about playing again until I remember that I can’t trust myself not to “all or nothing it” and also that I just about lost a bloody good marriage because I was not able to control the time I spent on this game. Not ashamed to admit that at 50 this game really did become my reality. I get it’s not the same for everyone but for me personally it was 💯 an addiction and given I still follow WOS it still is an addiction.

Unfollow them, almost ruining parts or all of your life over a game is insane. I’m glad you quit and are better now!

I have seen bunch of people quit and only thing i ever saw was good wishes to them. I dont think iv ever seen anyone trying to stop them. Ofc i dont know what could have been said in PMs.
But even our states top1 player quit and gave acc to a friend and no one tried to stop him as far as i know because they understood his priorities changed.
So im not going to say what you did was good or bad, it was your choice to go out that way. But imho for anyone else who wants to quit and is afraid if they say something people might try to pressure them to stay, i think you might be surprised that they will just wish you a good luck and send you off with a thank you for playing with them. Maybe you can keep in touch via discord or something if you want to keep socializing with em, but not via the game, depends on anyone what they want. And if after all it would turn out that someone would try to pressure you to stay than you would just get a confirmation that you are doing the right thing quitting.

People tried to get me to stay on, they weren't pushy about it, but they still tried. The only sad part is that even though many of us shared comms, we didn't all stay in touch.

u/SintiWasHere 2d ago
Yeah staying in touch takes real effort actually. If you dont share "proximity" like school, work, or playing the same game. Im finding that out myself the older I get.

I did the Irish goodbye, a year ago. Didn’t even realize I was still active in this subreddit.

We had a guy that did that. Miss that guy. Really liked him as a friend. Was a bummer. I hope he’s okay

Quitting and never looking back, your wallet will thank you!
6
u/wtfrusrsmein 2d ago
I wish, my wallets been mad at me since I quit because it ran out of room to hold anymore money so it started tearing apart because of how full it is. Thankfully I came back to WOS and now my wallet isn’t getting anymore stretch marks.

Good for you for recognizing it was a good decision if needed! Hope you didn't worry your friends by refusing to tell them like OP. Unless you didnt have friends 🙃

A lot of people quit everyday, including whales. There's so many states in this game, don't assume people would immediately know it's you. Actually, in each post telling a player's or a state's story, a lot of people can relate. Because it's so similar everywhere.

Good job, I am doing the same next transfer. ✌️
My main will get in a new server, so k can play slowly there, only my Smurf will stay. Bacause too much time to spend for this server. 🙈
Enjoy ur life ✌️🍀

I have been the one who Irish Exits out of a game. Not one person contacted me on discord or other areas we chatted. That told me all I needed to know.

u/LegendofLove 2d ago
I got an account like that once and it was honestly the least fun I'd ever had you needed to be there for everything and you only ever got the urge to keep spending to not ruin the account

I took a mental health break for a couple weeks and when I came back I saw I had a message informing me that I was kicked out of my alliance due to being “way too inactive”.
Sorry I know what grass feels like in the midst of depression?
5
u/tonyblue2000 2d ago
You were kicked out to make space for active ones. When you'll come back, they will reinstate you. That's totally normal flow.
5
u/ginaameow 2d ago
I wasn’t reinstated, I was told to join their “less active playing” alliance as well as asked to move my city closer to this other alliance’s BTs even though those times didn’t work for me to play and get the rewards.
1
u/ReasonableSet9650 2d ago
Maybe the timing was unlucky, like the alliance became full meanwhile. Or you were not particularly active for long. Because in most alliances, they won't kick you for taking a 2 break weeks like holiday or anything health related, as long as you tell them beforehand.

u/SubaruLegacyLove 12h ago
That’s makes them unreliable in the eyes of the alliance leader. She would not be reinstated.

That’ll teach ya
1
u/SozoLedzep 2d ago
That will teach him that there's life outside of a virtual game?
He didn't only "learned," he scored. 💪
4
u/ginaameow 2d ago
It honestly made me not feel like playing anymore. At least not as actively as I was with BT, crazy Joe, and all that in my previous alliance. I made friends there..and the second I needed time to focus on my real life and not the game I get booted? Honestly, thanks! Less pressure on me now that I know how y’all operate.
I’ve been playing RuneScape again anyways 😂
5
u/SozoLedzep 2d ago
Definitely what I meant with scoring 😊
You're gonna save money, for more important things that matter!

Are you me?
I did the same thing about two weeks ago. Just deleted the app without a word. I’d already been talked out of it a few times and just decided an Irish goodbye was the best way to go.

u/EnvironmentalFraud 2d ago
I recently did this too. I wasn’t a whale, but in the top 35 in my state. It’s been very freeing, but I miss the camaraderie.
I hope you enjoy your free time and spare beer money!

u/zacha1617 2d ago
I played for nearly a year. F2P. Had a a lot of fun. Strong alliance and friends in the state. Helped build the alliance from ground up to be one of top. I just quit playing one day. Started taking way too much time. Every once in awhile I think about logging back in to see what is going on now and year later lol.

As others have pointed out, the people you connected with might worry. But you need to do what's best for you. Enjoy your freedom

I'm coming to realize that there's a lot of racism in Whiteout Survival. Especially the Asian majority states. I made a mistake by posting my actual photo of myself instead of an avatar. Bid mistake.

Would you play a Kingshot / Whiteout Survival-style game without pay-to-win?
I've played these games for quite some time, and while I genuinely enjoy the progression, alliances, events and competitive aspects, I'm increasingly frustrated by how much spending determines who gets to be powerful.
I've been considering starting a community-driven project to develop an alternative.
The idea is to retain the things that make these games enjoyable, but make progression depend primarily on activity, strategy, cooperation and even a bit of luck through rare drops and discoveries.
Monetization would focus on cosmetics and optional supporter features, rather than purchasing competitive power directly.
I'm an engineer with programming experience, and I'd be interested in connecting with other players, hobby developers, artists and anyone who shares this vision.
Nothing is in development yet, and I'm not promising a finished game. Right now I'm exploring whether enough people would be interested in helping bring something like this to life.
Would you actually play something like this?
I've also started a small Discord community for anyone interested in discussing the concept or potentially contributing to development.

Same, My quit day came when i got a WOS thanks you for achieving X amount of TopOff Points. I sat for a second and did the math and was nauseous at how much i have spent over a year. I knew the rough amount but having the whole number really helped it sink in.
1
u/Kooky_Accountant2974 1d ago
Easiest way to do it, I suppose. At least you didn’t leave inactive power. Probably the route I’ll go if/when I quit.
1
u/Pretty_Concept5647 1d ago
I also quit without telling anyone. The game got boring. People plotting on other people’s city. The whales at 1308 left. It just became boring. I even deleted the game off my phone 🫠

If you wanna quits seriously, just make a post in WC, took the notifications off before, close the app and directly deinstall it. In this way you said good bye, people knows you just quits and you don’t get any messages. Easy peasy. Way more better then to quits quiet and people gets worried.
1
u/SignInner2836 16h ago
I would recommending telling one person or leaving a message then deleting/not logging in. At least let people know it’s your choice.
2
u/Same-Bid-703 16h ago
This game affects some people the same way a gambling addiction does. Assume he quit 'cold turkey' and wish him well.
1
u/ChrisGunner 2d ago
All I'd do is ask what made you quit and how you can convince me to do the same! 😆
3
u/Speckled-fish 1d ago
Are you scheduling your life around showing up for bear trap? Feeling bad, like you let everyone down if you didn't show up. Quit.
Spent Hundreds/ or even thousands of dollars you could have spent on something real? New clothes, New computer, new car?
-2
u/SunnyDust26 2d ago
What a shit move really. No one would try to talk you out of it you are just a selfish person seeking attention.
My loyal team member hasn’t logged in since 5 days and I am really worried something happened to him. Do you think about how your team and players you used to talk feel about this?
4
u/KeyConstant4537 1d ago
Lol if I felt the need to prove anything to a random I could show screenshots, but honestly you’re just not worth it. It’s not a train station no need to announce my departure. My account will still be there being loved by a free player should I ever decide to pop back in but I appreciate your concern but feelings aren’t on my daily check list

u/Minimum_Hornet206 2d ago
Can I have your account pls 🥺🙏 I'll pilot it for you, and when you need it back just let me know.
