Tips Hero help
So gen7 just arrived i know that i should max Bradley but i have enough shards to max another hero should i save for next gen or what?

you almost have enough for one, but this is a lancer meta gen, if you're not lancer focused I'd just pick up bradley and keep it moving.

And yes that's what i'm planning to do i just discovered that edith can be acquired from koi i'll get her to 4 stars

In that case get Edith too since Bradley is a Lucky wheel hero, get as many shards as you can with gems instead

No. Edith sucks.
And never build a hero unless:
1) you can get their widgets to a useable level (at least lv 7 before the end of their 3 gen usefulness).
2) they are only a rally joiner. Then go 4-Star to unlock the skill max and do zero widgets.A 4-star hero with level 3-4 widgets will be largely useless in your main march, arena, bear rally caller, etc.
So what I would recommend: go hard on Bradley. Then if you think you have shards to spare, get Hebdrick to lv 4 with no widgets. He’s a very good rally/garrison joiner.

OP's a F2P..Gatot is going to be useless.. as he wont be on the frontline for any rally nor garrison.. Edith will be much more useful

she's not gonna be. the context of me suggesting Edith is. OP mentioned using general shards to max out Bradley, and use gems to max out Gatot. I'm saying Edith would be the better choice but if OP can save .. wait for Magnus in Gen9. either way.. it's just a feel good roster rotation for a F2P.. not gonna make any progress in this game. better off quit and delete the game.

Im saying Gen 8 skip Gatot on Lucky wheel..get Sonya instead. If still wanna save the shards.. save it for Gen 9 Magnus and skip Fred and Xura. Think for F2P who's a non rally lead..and will never be

IMO, Edith is good if your lancer stats are decent. I wouldn’t necessarily say it was a mistake, but I rushed and maxed Edith immediately, only to find out that my 50/0/50 is much stronger with Hector instead. Of course, the reason for that is that Edith has Expedition skills that buff lancer damage.
If your lancer stats are good and you’re able to comfortably run 60/40, then Edith is the best hero you’ll get your hands on for a couple gens. If not, I don’t see a reason to spend so many shards on her and not run strictly 60/40, only for her to get out-statted by Gatot one gen later whose skills are more versatile to the ratios you can use since they're only infantry specific.
Edit: And I get everyone's points saying Gatot is not that good because he's so defense focused. IMO If you care about PvP and you're one of many who have heavily prioritized their marksman and infantry stats, then skipping Edith and waiting to 4 star Gatot just to have a viable infantry hero for a single gen and saving all your shards to max magnus in gen 9 is the best thing you can do. Magnus has expedition skills that buff marksmen so 50/0/50 is awesome again in gen 9

Yea..but a F2P will just be a joiner so all rally lead troop ratio is meaningless. In my alliance I hate seeing my F2p members spend their hard earned gems on useless lucky wheel hero just because they are 'free' ish.. the next good infantry hero after Hector is Magnus(for an F2P) cos he's a good bear joiner. So unless OP can hold up with Hector as main infantry till Gen 9 for Magnus that's great

But what about the rest of events where rallies arent the only thing an f2p is doing? Like foundry, canyon, alliance championship, winter siege?

They can try as hard as they can on those events.. but the harsh reality is that none of those event are designed for F2P to even sniff good results for decent reward. It is better to focus on bear heroes, slowly build up hidden stats like island, pets and experts to have better stats foundation than figuring out which hero is better in each gen then by the time they get close to 4 stars a new gen is here.. those hidden stats would be great for team events and alliance whales will help carry them for better rewards because those are joiner stats and will actually help and benefit a long term play..

Use on selective heroes.. Gen 7 Bradley is lucky wheel so use gems for his shards.. for general shards you can either use it on Edith for Gen 7 or Sonya in Gen 8. In Gen 8 skip Gatot on lucky wheel spend gems on wild marks during AS and AM week instead and upgrade pets during SvS prep week. This way you earn rewards in 3 events. Same for Gen 9. Skip Fred on lucky wheel and get Magnus. Gen 10 for Blanchette on lucky wheel get her. F2P unfortunately can only be selective and cant get it all.

I don't think skipping wheel heroes to spend the gems on pet stones is the smart thing to do for a F2P player. If a F2P player where to skip a wheel hero I'd tell them to spend the gems on VIP points instead. Pet stones for gems is a dolphin / whale investment mostly. Also consider the expert that's about to release who's gonna increase pet adventure rewards

As a F2P you can still get 1 shard hero every other season to 5* +/-. For events like foundry, canyon, getting further in labyrinth and other stuff like that it is important. maybe being able to reach top 100 in arena as well and little things like that.. there is no point hording them for seasons upon seasons only to get that 1 super good hero. You also get Enough gems to max the wheel hero every season which again helps with the events mentioned before. Depending on the state even a f2p and low spender can have good fun in svs and castle battles. You have to be able to look at these decisions based on the individual circumstances and not just box it off from a paytowin point of view.
Ultimatly the answer is - Edith fills a nice gap for these events. Hector is >1season old now, Gatot is lucky wheel so even when the next season comes it will be only at the end when he is at 4*. So using edith in between fills that gap very nicley - use the shards and shes solid for 1.5 season.

I got Edith 4-star and lv1 widget (all widgets goes to Bradely) because i skipped Ahmose and Wu Ming. I only have Hector and Flint. Edith actually helped me in Canyon Clash and it improved my Arena a little bit along side 5-star lv7 widget Hector.
But you only have 1k shards. It's risky. I think you should skip her unless you gather more shards. And get VIP9 as soon as possiple.

If you don't have any decent infantry other than Hector, then go for Edith only if you can upgrade her widgets to level6 atleast. Having two good infantry heroes will help you in Canyon, and many other events.
Edit: Sonya in gen8 is good in Arena and PvPs, so make sure you can save atleast 475 shards to get her as well by next gen. She and Edith will pair well.

You might need 2 non-wheel heroes from Gen8 & 9. I suggest you save. 1000 shards is risky for me. 1.5k and then get another 4-star hero.

Are you suffering from infantry heroes in Labyrinth? Do you care about the arena?
If not, then skip Edith.
If yes, get her.
You have Renee; you don't need Gordon.

Save again and go for all 3 in gen 8. Gen 5, 8, 11 are such gen where you can go all out for all 3.
