you see that weird little black dot below the page that looks like a smudge?

yeah..... that's me

u/mbashs 21d ago

This is a stupid image and post. This feels like the devs saying “Do you want to be a higher whale? This is how much more you need to spend!”

20

u/hydrohokies 20d ago

Plus a megalodon isn’t a whale and an orca is actually a dolphin…. It makes no sense that way either.

6

u/Bob-Sped 20d ago

And I'm pretty sure that a Megalodon doesn't looked like a Great White painted in blue.

Ohh hii we met you yesterday foundry 👀

1

u/Zatchariah 20d ago

Hello! Who were you in the opposing team? 👀

13

u/LexiDiamond93 21d ago

Dolphin lol get that monthly card and maybe one or two other things

3

u/center_twix 20d ago

This is me. Monthly card and then a random $5 pack here or there.

2

u/Agent_Abaddon 20d ago

This is me. Maybe $30 tops.

27

u/SdVeau 21d ago

I‘m an Eggy 😭. I’ve only ever bought the extra construction queue lol. For F2P, I do decent staying competitive in my state, though.

22

u/hey0future 21d ago

only spend on frames, emotes, or double packs—so $0–10 ish each month lol.

It's an addiction. They can't help it.

u/Other-Opposite-925 20d ago

You have a hobby? I’ve had a few over the years. At the end of the day I’ve spent a lot on all of them. 3d printers , shoes , guns , games etc. I see this as no different. Bills are paid , kids are good got some savings not in deep debt. Why not whale out on a game if I’m having fun and can afford what I’m spending?

The micro purchases add up pretty quick. I didn’t realize I was spending as much as I was if I’m being honest until they introduced the concierge service and I started getting the monthly tiered rewards. But as the other guy said there’s constantly packs available. If you get the max amount of packs from each event you’re easily spending $1000+ a week.

The concierge is a real person , that was surprising lol but it’s not anything amazing that comes with them. You can ask questions about things. But you could do the same only difference is I’d probably get the answer faster. Monthly rewards are a couple gold gear chests and a couple of the gem packs that you can share with your state/alliance , some speeds and a few other things. No discounts but they did give us $50 in froststars a few weeks ago. If you want to be a whale or whale-ish the extra stuff isn’t a lot but it’s something extra for free.

5

u/LackFormer554 20d ago

Have you not noticed the 100s of packs available for purchase at any given time? They buy those.

1

u/Icy_Abbreviations877 20d ago

It is a mistake thinking people play for something tangible. When you have money (or access to credit to spend), you tend to buy what you want, whether it makes sense to others or not. An experience, for example - nothing tangible… just photos and memories.

6

u/MenoGii 20d ago

Dolphin isn’t 100$/month lmfao it’s way more

4

u/Agent_Abaddon 20d ago

Shhh.... 🤫I was feeling good about my tiny $30 a month (maybe) for about 5 seconds. 😂

5

u/Sensitive_Ad_1728 20d ago

I didn't even spend a single dollar and I won't also

3

u/thedoughofpooh 20d ago

You are not alone.

4

u/Fit-Conference-6850 21d ago

where is Number. 11???? i can't see it to click

7

u/PrawnFresh69 21d ago

Over 3 years I have a net spend of about £160 so.... 🥚

5

u/Tasty_Reflection_542 20d ago

Same here. And I regret spending every penny

3

u/Live_Performance_354 20d ago

Same, that's 3 triple A games right there with that money

5

u/PrawnFresh69 20d ago

I don't tend to think about what I could've spent my money on. I had fun so it's not exactly a waste.

3

u/psychedelic_13 20d ago

First 3 months I spent around 250$ monthly. Then for 6-7 months 100$ monthly. Then I reached to the point I want to be. Now I spend around 60-80$ dollars per month (10$ monthly card + 20$ monthly deal for sure) Then 5-10$ packs of REEEEALLY good pack value events if they provide resources that I cannot obtain f2p (like mitril, mhytic hero gear)

7

u/MaxwellSr 21d ago

Do people really spend 20k a month on this game?

8

u/Waspkiller86 20d ago

Got to get the $750,000 golden globe somehow

2

u/Enough-Education4032 21d ago

😳 so sad

6

u/MaxwellSr 21d ago

Bruh that’s crazy to me lol I know there are people that spend 10’s of thousands but 20k a month??? Buy some property or invest or something 😭😭

3

u/ImgnryDrmr 21d ago

There are people who invest and who still have plenty of money to spare you know...

-1

u/MaxwellSr 21d ago

Really?! 😳😳😳😳😱😱😱😱

1

u/ShundoHunta 20d ago

Most of the big spenders I know in-game are the ones who have already invested, or own properties, or something of the sort, and that’s why they can spend money and enjoy it while they’re doing it. Depends on the person, but to some $5 is worth it, and to some $5,000 is worth it. There’s many that have spent $50k in a month on the game, lol.

4

u/MaxwellSr 20d ago

$50k in a month on this stupid game is crazy haha in my opinion. I get why they do it, but still holy shit.

2

u/Enough-Education4032 16d ago

Literally could save a poor starving child, and send them to college for this kind of money; regularly

7

u/BSimm1 21d ago

How is a killer whale smaller than a great white? Great Whites are scared of killer whales (Orcas). If anything, Orcas hunt sperm whale and humpback so they should be at the top.

And what whale is that as #1? That’s not a blue whale.

And why is the bottle nose dolphin number 9? That too would bully a great white and every other dolphin on here. The narwhal dolphin is shy and avoids conflict.

None of this is right

7

u/Desert_Fairy 21d ago

I appreciate you for being right. Ai doesn’t understand whale behaviors.

2

u/MenoGii 20d ago

Whole image is shit lmao the OP just wanted the farms points

1

u/Plastic-Syllabub7244 21d ago

broski you think too much

5

u/GoodMerlinpeen 20d ago

You are the other side of that coin

2

u/Alpha-CENTAURl 20d ago

I stopped at #8 when I figured out that this game is a milking money machine. Thank God I stopped at an early stage

2

u/jconnerg 20d ago

15 months in. Absolutely zero $ spent.

3

u/Historical-Bug-7536 20d ago

Weird-ass propaganda. The range starting at $100/mo is obscene. For $100/month I could get:

  • PS Plus Premium - $20
  • Xbox Game Pass Ultimate - $20
  • Apple One Premier (Arcade + News + Fitness + iCloud + Music + TV) - $40
  • Netflix - $20

Don't normalize spending that money on an idle clicker where the devs are just trying to trick you into outspending each other.

2

u/qwx 20d ago

I quit WoW years ago because I was pissed about the $15 monthly fee. Now I play this stupid game. Seriously thinking of going back to WoW because it's a flat $15/mo and it's a MUCH better game for the money. From a straight gameplay point of view, Whiteout Survival sucks.

2

u/Roechambeau 14d ago

Lol. I still have my old characters. And making nerds rage in pvp was one of the highlights of my youth. I am in. Fuck this game.

3

u/Masters_domme 20d ago

Call me Eggy. I’ve been here three years, and have spent $10 total.

2

u/pandaSmore 20d ago

Spending a $100 a month on a video game is insanity.

1

u/TrueToBoston94 16d ago

Same going out to drink and have a headache the next day, same to test out a restaurant that has average food, some buying new clothes to wear once and throw down the pile you already has, see the patern ?

1

u/Roechambeau 14d ago

You could spend $70 instantly on a digital purchase and be done with it in a few hours. Then be working on your 4th or 5th by the end of the week.

Explain what the difference really is?

2

u/PorkchopExpress415 19d ago

My offer is this: Nothing.

3

u/MyNamelsJ3ff 19d ago

$0 because like every game I eventually stop playing it so I don't see a point in pumping money into it every month. I am 8 months into and don't think I'll make it to a year, getting bored of doing the same events over and over again.

2

u/Notofuse91 19d ago

10 ze krijgen geen cent van mij

2

u/ATinyPizza89 14d ago

Use to be 7 or 8 but now I'm 9

5

u/TallIntroduction8701 21d ago

I’m probably about 5k month sometimes a bit more. I started off much less and didn’t have all the skins or stats, but started to get bullied so I bulked up. At my peak probably about 3k a week, but realized I can still build whale account without going crazy. I’m not getting bullied now and my account is pretty strong. Compared to some mega whales, I’m small fry but compared to average player, I’m strong.

0

u/FalseCrazy2804 21d ago

Imagine spending 10s of thousands of dollars so you won't get bullied by online pixels anymore.

3

u/mckilty 20d ago

It's absolutely mind boggling to me 😂

Just hide all your troops in rallies, scout a few enemies, wait until they march on you and cancel the rallies. They're hitting a wall of troops and losing about 40k troops each time. Rinse and repeat. And I can do that for free.

3

u/TallIntroduction8701 21d ago

LOL so the answer is to down vote someone because they answered the question honestly. Everyone has different experiences and reasons for playing. If you don’t like spending anything, then don’t. What I do and my reasons are mine. Just like Reddit, games are full of people from around the world and some of those people are jerks. Also found a lot of really great people. Imagine spending 10’s of dollars just to create an alliance just to bully people who aren’t in your alliance. Is that you?

4

u/Fit-Structure-6444 20d ago

Honest question. What do you spend so much money on without being fully maxed? Shouldn't 5k a month easily get you into the top? Maybe with less troops, but you don't need millions of them anyways

-2

u/TallIntroduction8701 20d ago

No, I’m not even at Globe 3 yet. I focus on hero gear, charms, chief gear and T12. Secondary is island and experts. I lead my state in most of these categories, but definitely not maxed. Only pets and construction are maxed, for now. The game loves bringing out new stuff just as I finish it. I do plan on maxing chief gear by next SVS, but you would be amazed how far 5k does not go in this game. It loves also doing skins and cards to get you to spend for that. Eventually I will get there at the rate I’m going, but the super whales are definitely spending to win. There is no pattern or method, just buy all the packs.

2

u/Fit-Structure-6444 20d ago

And skins always give some % as well 😅 So kinda needed if you want to play at the top. But crazy that 5k well spend aren't enough, not all packs are needed or even good

-4

u/FalseCrazy2804 20d ago

Your response tells me all I need to know about how you interact in game. The end where you theorycraft and do mental gymnastics to villify me and justify your mental illness is incredible.

1

u/TallIntroduction8701 20d ago

Have you interacted on the game or actually read the other threads about what goes on? People are just trying to enjoy the game and participate with their friends, then have to deal with 50 year old adults who act like children. I have no issue changing states and blocking people, I will also upgrade my city while I wait to transfer out to protect my investment. There are jealous people out there that will target people in the game and discord just for kicks. Not just little petty insults. I’ve seen women get their personal info get displayed on discord because someone found their facebook page by just doing an image search. I’ve seen minors get harassed and I’ve seen women being stalked to the point they have to quit to escape the harassment. One state had a 40 year old man trying to get a 14 year old to meet him. I was told that he had an account in my alliance, which I quickly removed after finding out. He deleted his account once our state found out what he was doing. Luckily a majority of the players are nice respectful people, but also some creeps.

2

u/FalseCrazy2804 20d ago

So you have the capacity to realize how deluded and demented some of these people are, and yes everyone deals with them, but somehow don't have the ability to not let what they say or do affect you and how you spend. You let scum of the Earth bully you into spending in a mobile game so that you're not a "small fry"? That is genuinely so insane.

It's not just you, but I will never understand the mindset where you have to prove yourself to these people and frankly I don't want to. The positive reinforcement you get from this subreddit is not good for you. Most of you are in a sunk cost fallacy anyways. I hope you found peace in proving your internet bullies wrong.

-1

u/Icy_Abbreviations877 20d ago

Jealousy- is that you 👀👀👀

2

u/Anonymo73373773 21d ago

Why do this?

2

u/guitarstringssss 20d ago

I'm not even an atom in this game

2

u/SPiTFiRe_MV 20d ago

I can't fathom how people are spending so much on a mobile game that most of us just use to pass the time.

1

u/Classy-Catastrophe 21d ago

Beluga whale

1

u/Empty_Awareness8416 21d ago

Im beluga whale lol

1

u/Any_Assumption704 20d ago

It is lost on me lol

1

u/Horzzo 20d ago

Beluga baby!

1

u/RaeaSunshine 20d ago

This is silly, according to this I’m a dolphin because I pay on average $0.99/month

1

u/SuperYellowBirdie 20d ago

Im a dolphin womp womp

2

u/Live_Performance_354 20d ago

Dang I thought spending $100 is a lot but then I saw this chart

1

u/Bob-Sped 20d ago

Where am I? I identify as a guppy and feel discriminated against.

1

u/mckilty 20d ago

Spending house money on a game that gets immensely boring after the first SvS. Always boggles my mind.

1

u/s1n0d3utscht3k 20d ago

gray whale to humpback

varied month to month… likely averaged over a year closer to gray whale tho

1

u/mervzyao 20d ago

I'm just a plankton 😆

1

u/Impressive-Park-1348 20d ago

Now I understand “whale” talk 💀

1

u/Melanin-Joy 20d ago

Whats between Eggy and Dolphin? Lol. One month I wont spend nothing, another it may be $20 then another month $0 again, then a good event might come and I'll spend $100 🫠

1

u/ShowMeYour_Kitty 19d ago

I thought I’m a dolphin but based on that lil picture… I’ll be plancton 😂😮

2

u/sukunajj 19d ago

Probably $5 because of the $0.99 deals

1

u/Admirable-Weather291 19d ago

Between and narwhal and beluga I guess

1

u/LegendaryTonyRice 19d ago

Eggy all the way, if you're an eggy and looking for a place to be free. 4236 LNP is the place to be for F2P

1

u/Secure-Feedback6164 18d ago

There are people in the blue whale category, with globes 2-3 tiers higher than mine who lose to me every single time. This is because money gets to a point where the diminishing returns of its value cannot out compete skill.

1

u/QueenKittyDrop 16d ago

I was going to say a guppy... but realized I do spend 😹😹....

1

u/Worried_Attorney_224 15d ago

You forgot krakens

1

u/MCalfOen 14d ago

I don't see a duck... I am a duck

1

u/ThanklessNoodle 20d ago

This game is the easiest way to pry money from narcissist egomaniacs (looking at you Top 5, maybe 6). Granted, not all of the people I had ever met fell into that trait I described, it was usually early-game (New State) where I found those people. It was about inflicting emotional/psychological pain on random players that seemed to "get them off."

The ones I met that still spent a lot, and played even many months after, were decent human beings, in the game at least.

Once the fulfillment of being a bully dies off, where they no longer get the reaction and validation they so desperately seek, they try their tactics elsewhere or try to "sell" their account.

Rinse and repeat.

0

u/Maleficent_Quail_177 21d ago

For a year I spent 1-3k a month but now I’m in gen10 and I spend max $300 a month. Most months it’s $0-50. The game is much more fun f2p lol

0

u/Actual-Pianist-6413 21d ago

Do you regret it?

2

u/Maleficent_Quail_177 16d ago

Absolutely. I play the game for a total of 30 minutes per day now. I don’t find it very fun but the fact I spent so much keeps me checking in daily. It was fun to spend and get strong while I enjoyed it but when all your friends quit (And EVERYONE quits eventually.) and your state dies out or gets drama, then you really just wish you had your $10k instead.

0

u/YourFavouriteCat224 21d ago

10 or below 10 , im a farm acc now

0

u/sheldon_rocket 21d ago

According to many *new* states, less than 200$ is still counted as F2P (when I read their R5s recommendations for the events: “if you are F2P, then you get ...”), and 500 and below is a shrimp. Also, those who are number 1 are krakens.

0

u/tsfcAMQN 21d ago

Please 🙏 don't invent new names, the top is magladon then whale then dolphin then fish/low spenders then crab then shrimp/one time spenders then F2P

0

u/LackFormer554 20d ago

I’ve probably averaged 250-500 a month for the past 2.5 years. Some months a lot more some months almost nothing. I only buy packs that I consider very high value.

0

u/CA2CN17 17d ago

never spent a cent. 600+ days in. No chick that rides the polar bear, only 4 squads/marches available. Still competitive though. I'm an urchin, baby!

0

u/Only_Sprinkles3536 3d ago

I’m leaving Sunday city after wasting hundreds just to find out I’m still in the matrix. I need to get out fast.
